But it looks like the hottest seat in college football coaching will remain true to its nature. Josh Pate is predicting that if Kalen DeBoer has another 9 win season, there could be drastic repercussions in Tuscaloosa.
On Wednesday's Josh Pate's College Football Show, the host talked about how the Crimson Tide coach is on the clock. He said, "Bama fans will tell you- he's got everything he needs. It's not like Saban hung on five years too long, and left the cupboard empty and you had to rebuild it from scratch."
DeBoer has had to move things around to adjust to his style, but the foundation of a solid program was already in existence after Nick Saban's exit. Even though the 247sports analyst says he's on the coldest hot seat, it is still enough to make it worrisome.

This season they'll have to solve the most glaring issue out of last year- the quarterback position. If, despite bringing in his offensive coordinator over, they can't make plays and struggle offensively, there will be a lot of questions.

They do have a strong back up core, probably one of the strong quarterback rooms in the country. But that will need to translate into production quickly or Crimson Tide fans roll fast!
Pate makes it clear for DeBoer, saying, "You need to win! If it takes you a year, that's okay. But you need to win. That's fair. I don't even think DeBoer thinks that's unfair."
DeBoer is coming off an exceptional recruiting run. He's clearly taken forward the legacy established by Saban. So he's going to be well prepared going into their SEC Media Day on July 16. But results are paramount in Tuscaloosa.
The Alabama Crimson Tide HC will be accompanied by defensive lineman Tim Keenan, linebacker Deontae Lawson, offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.

Nick Saban shares humorous response to coaching return rumor

For the first time since the rumor was shared during SEC media days, former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has publicly commented on his potential interest in returning to coaching. In a recent television appearance on Fox News' Fox and Friends, Saban was asked in an interview the question as to if he would ever return to the sidelines again. Saban, in response, appeared to shut down speculation on a potential return, while also giving a humorous answer. "I never really ever had a thought about getting back into coaching, until two days ago Mrs. Terry said I had to run the sweeper in the entire downstairs," Saban said. "While running the sweeper, the thought occurred to me," When you were coaching, you had a heck of a lot better job than this. That is only time I considered it." "There is no opportunity that I know of right now, that would enhance me to go back to coaching." Saban also later added. Saban, who announced his retirement back in Jan. 2024, was the head coach at Alabama for 17 seasons from 2007-23, winning six national championships during that span. As the head coach at Alabama, Saban also compiled a 206-29 overall record, recorded 16 10-win seasons, and won nine SEC championships. Since announcing his retirement, Saban has remained around college football, most notably through his role on ESPN's weekly show "College GameDay." As to if Saban would ever return, the answer certainly appears unlikely in the near future. 5 Alabama football position battles to monitor during 2025 fall camp

Football season has now officially arrived for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Yes, after a lengthy break during the summer months, the Crimson Tide will once again be back on the football field this upcoming week for the start of fall camp. A multi-week span leading up to Alabama's first game, fall camp is not only a period of time where the anticipation for the upcoming season continues to build for all, but it is also where the Crimson Tide put the finishing touches on things prior to playing meaningful games. Similar to years past as well, there will be multiple position battles for the Crimson Tide this fall that are set to take center stage, some of which are at key positions. Here are five position battles to monitor throughout fall camp for the Crimson Tide, as well as some names to know at each spot. Quarterback Kalen DeBoer recently stated at SEC media days that if Alabama had to play a game, then Ty Simpson would likely be the starter. However, Simpson will still likely have to go out and win the job during fall camp over Keelon Russell and Austin Mack, with these next couple of weeks likely deciding who starts Week 1 at Florida State. Left Guard As the Crimson Tide replace Tyler Booker at left guard this season, there are likely two names competing this fall for that starting spot in Kam Dewberry and Geno VanDeMark. With both certain to see significant time this season, the duo will likely compete in fall camp to determine who starts at left guard Week 1 at Florida State. Inside Linebacker Alabama has a starting inside linebacker returning in Deontae Lawson, but also have to replace a key starter from a year ago in Jihaad Campbell. In that competition, Justin Jefferson is undoubtedly the favorite, but another name to know is Colorado transfer Nikhai Hill-Green, who will also play significant snaps this season. Punter Special teams in general will be a talking point for Alabama entering the season, but the punter position in particular might be one to watch this fall. Blake Doud is the arguable favorite to start entering fall camp after transferring into the program, but will be battling for the starting spot with incoming freshman Alex Asparuhov. Right Tackle Lastly, left guard is not the only position along Alabama's offensive line to monitor during fall camp, as the same can be said for right tackle. Wilkin Formby is likely the favorite to start entering fall camp, but there are certainly many others who are in the mix as well. Caitlin Clark has been playing through her second season in the WNBA, attempting to help turn the Indiana Fever into a title contender. The WNBA recently hit its halfway point of the season, meaning all eyes turned toward the All-Star break, with Indiana hosting All-Star weekend. The Fever (12-11) went into the break third in the Eastern Conference and sixth overall, firmly in playoff contention. Despite the success, Clark has missed ample time. She previously dealt with a leg injury and has most recently been struck with a groin injury, which she re-aggravated ahead of the All-Star break. Clark has missed 11 of the Fever's 24 games, which includes the Commissioner's Cup final. While Clark won't be playing in Saturday's All-Star game, a photo of the Fever star recently hit social media. Fans commented on Clark's physical strength, having seen the WNBA guard in street clothes. After the photo surfaced online, some fans took to social media, sharing their thoughts on Clark's appearance at WNBA All-Star weekend. "I can't get up," said one fan. "Using this pic as motivation to never ever stop working out," said another fan. "She never skips her arms workout," mentioned one fan. "WOAH ARMS," commented one fan. "So strong," said one fan. "We photographer," said another fan. In 13 games this season, Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists.
