Jockeys Noel Callow, Kyle Wilson-Taylor in physical altercation
Noel Callow has been stood down from riding under concussion protocols and will miss a Group 1 ride after being involved in a physical altercation with fellow jockey Kyle Wilson-Taylor at the Doomben races on Wednesday.
It means Callow will forgo the ride on Bevan Laming's Group 1 Queensland Derby contender Our Benefactor on Saturday, which would have been Callow's first Australian Group 1 ride in years after re-establishing his riding career in the Sunshine State.
The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission has now confirmed Callow has been stood down for 12 days under concussion protocols.

The official stewards' report from Doomben Wednesday races was also published online at 11.30am on Thursday.
The reference to the incident in the report said there was an 'adjourned inquiry into an 'incident post race (six).'
And the report stated that, before race seven: 'The start of this race was delayed approximately five minutes when rider N. Callow, who had weighed out for this event, was then subsequently stood down after being examined by the club doctor and found to be unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements.'
It also stated a 'medical clearance was required (including concussion protocol)' before Callow was permitted to ride again.
Racenet broke the news on Wednesday that stewards were investigating a physical altercation between the jockeys, which came after ill-feeling between the pair escalated at Doomben.
It is understood Wilson-Taylor insisted that he had not been the aggressor in the initial incident.

Wilson-Taylor, who broke into the elite Group 1 club when he scored in the Tatt's Tiara on Palaisipan in 2023, has three rides at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Callow, with five Australian Group 1s to his name, has collected big-race wins all over the world, including a prolific stint in Singapore.
The larrikin jockey they call 'King' has returned to being a formidable metropolitan riding force in recent times, but says after he first arrived in Queensland many trainers thought he was in semi-retirement.
Queensland stewards did not take evidence from Callow on Wednesday as he left the course to seek medical treatment.
Stewards have adjourned the inquiry, which took a considerable volume of evidence from other riders and racing officials, to a date and time to be fixed.
They want more time to complete the inquiry to allow further investigation into the incident and to gather more evidence.

Truck driving hobby trainer Craig Cousins sets sights on Sydney first
For truck driving hobby trainer Craig Cousins, a trip to the interstate races means heading 13km south of the Queensland border to Murwillumbah. All that is about to change. Cousins, whose fairytale horse The Inflictor raced in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap and won a stakes race a fortnight later, has set his sights on the big time of racing in Sydney. Cousins has never set foot on a Sydney racetrack but that will change when he heads south with The Inflictor who he will deploy in the $1.5m Alan Brown Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill in October. There is even an outside chance he could race in the $2m Five Diamonds if he impresses in Sydney. 'As far as going interstate with racing, Murwillumbah is as far as I've been,' Cousins said. 'I've never even set foot on Rosehill or any of the Sydney tracks. 'I've driven past them, but never been at them. 'At this stage, the Alan Brown would be his only run in Sydney. The Inflictor raced without luck in the Stradbroke, finishing 11th, before rebounding to score the Listed Tatt's Mile a fortnight later. He was last seen finishing a brave third in the Glasshouse Handicap after not being given much peace up front. Currently having a short spell, Cousins will bring The Inflictor back for the spring and he will also contest the Weetwood Handicap in Toowoomba. 'He will be first-up in a race at Doomben over 1110m on September 13 and then he will race up in Toowoomba in the Weetwood before going to Sydney,' Cousins said. 'Cejay Graham will have the ride on him for the Queensland races. 'At this stage, he will have three runs in his next campaign. 'The idea of that is to then give him a small break and set him for a good race over the Queensland summer carnival.'

Harness racing: James Herbertson thrilled to see ‘gentleman' trainer Eddie Tappe finally has star horse
Premier driver James Herbertson will have one eye on Melton while he chases glory at Albion Park on Saturday night. Herbertson will drive star Victorian mare Rakero Rebel in the $1m Inter Dominion final and is also part of the Australasian Young Drivers' Championship on the same night. While many of the regular horses he drives will race at Melton on the same night, none are as exciting as emerging trotting star Im Bobby. Herbertson is thrilled that after 45 years in the game, Im Bobby's veteran hobby trainer Eddie Tappe has found a star. Tappe's patience on so many levels has been rewarded. Firstly, to get a horse of his talent and then for Im Bobby to mature into the potential feature race player he is now. 'Eddie's a gentleman. He's one of those lovely, hard working blokes you're thrilled to see find a horse like this,' Herbertson said. 'He's had some nice ones go through the classes, but Im Bobby is headed towards the big trotting races. 'I'm glad he didn't go to this (Brisbane) Inter Dominion, but come next year, I'm confident he'll be in it and other top trotting races.' Herbertson would know. He's driven Im Bobby eight times for five wins, two seconds and a third. The 70-year-old Congupna-based Tappe, who trained and drove his first winner in 1979, has waited more than five years and 80 starts for Im Bobby to grab some serious attention. It's come in spades this season with six wins and seven placings from just 15 starts and especially with the six-year-old's past two sparkling wins at Melton then Menangle. Im Bobby will chase a hat-trick in the 1720m trotting free-for-all at Melton on Saturday night. With Herbertson away, Im Bobby will have his eighth different driver in his past 15 starts with junior driver Tamsyn Potter taking the reins. She's driven him twice for two third placings. 'He's a nice horse on the track, but a real handful off it … and I mean a handful,' Herbertson said. 'He's as crazy a horse as I've seen in the parade ring and preparing to race, that's why Eddie's done such a great job with him and shown such patience. 'The talent has always been there, but we've had a plan to slowly build him up and drive him conservatively while he learns the ropes. 'It's paid off. Look how impressive he's been his past couple of wins.' Despite drawing outside the front row (gate seven), Im Bobby is $2.60 favourite against five previous Inter Dominion contestants on Saturday night. The other Melton feature is the pacing free-for-all (race three) where the Jess Tubbs-trained Fighter Command will continue his build-up towards the $2.1m TAB Eureka from an outside draw (gate seven). The four-year-old will then head to the $80,000 Beautide in Hobart on August 2 where a win will secure him the Tasracing slot in the TAB Eureka at Menangle on September 6.
