Forest forward Gardner joins Lincoln on loan
The 19-year-old has made just one first-team appearance for Forest, which was as a substitute in their FA Cup fourth-round win against Bristol City that went to a penalty shooutout last season.
Gardner - whose loan move comes on the same day that he has agreed a new Forest contract - featured for the Reds' Under-21 side in the EFL Trophy this season, and has scored six goals in 12 appearances for their Premier League 2 side.
Lincoln boss Michael Skubala says Gardner is a player they have been "watching closely for quite some time" and who has been brought in after Jack Moylan suffered a potentially season-ending injury.
"It has been sped along quicker because of the Jack Moylan situation," Skubala told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
"We see him as that player with a little bit more of a Jack Moylan-profile that can do special things and open the game up.
"He is a real exciting prospect. We would definitely have looked to do this in the summer, but it has probably been sped along into January with the view to even keep him if he does well."

Liverpool to build memorial sculpture at Anfield to honor Diogo Jota
Liverpool announced that the team will wear a special "Forever 20" emblem on their jerseys for the 2025-26 season in tribute to the late Diogo Jota, symbolizing his lasting impact on the club. Additionally, the club will construct a permanent sculpture at Anfield in his honor. The former Liverpool and Portugal forward died in a car crash along with his brother, André Silva, on July 3 near Zamora, Spain. According to the Spanish Civil Guard, their vehicle went off the road on a remote stretch of highway and was engulfed in flames by the time authorities arrived at the scene. Authorities believe that the driver lost control of the car after a tire blew out. Jota made 182 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020. During his five years with the club, he has been part of a FA Cup victory, two Carabao Cup wins, and he helped secure this past season's Premier League title. Liverpool, in a move that underscores the depth of Jota's impact, will retire the No. 20 shirt throughout all levels of the club to honor his name. Premier League net spend rank over the last five years
Premier League teams have already spent more than £1.6bn in the current transfer window, and the deals do not appear to be stopping. Liverpool lead from the front this summer, but the Reds are still playing catch-up when it comes to net spend over the last five seasons. We've ranked the 10 highest-spending Premier League teams since 2021/22. Premier League net spend rank over the last five years 10. Nottingham Forest five-year net spend: -£159.62m Nottingham Forest have thrown plenty of cash at consolidation since being promoted back into the Premier League in 2022. It's an investment that has paid dividends, as Forest prepare for their fourth consecutive Premier League campaign and first in Europe since 1995 this season. So far this summer, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have brought in a profit of around £72m. 9. Crystal Palace five-year net spend: -£162.96m Crystal Palace have invested £162.96m over the last five seasons. The Eagles made a small profit last summer after the sales of Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen, but managed to end the campaign with FA Cup glory, the club's first-ever major trophy. 8. West Ham United five-year net spend: -£271.55m There's a significant jump up to eighth with West Ham having spent £271.55m net in the five-year period. That investment has helped the Hammers into Europe on a regular basis, culminating in their 2023 Europa Conference League triumph. However, the purse strings have tightened up this summer. It's a sell-to-buy policy in East London this window, with Mohammed Kudus sold to Spurs (£55m) to free up funds. 7. Manchester City five-year net spend: -£322.86m Manchester City are often branded as big spenders, and while that is true, the Citizens have also become elite sellers in recent years. Pep Guardiola's side have brought around £500m in sales during the five-year period, with only Chelsea and Brighton recouping more. 6. Newcastle United five-year net spend: -£358.6m Newcastle United have been frustrated with their business over the last two seasons, with criticism of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules. The Magpies, however, are the sixth-highest spenders in the league since 2021/22, an investment which has taken Eddie Howe's side from strugglers to the Champions League. 5. Liverpool five-year net spend: -£400.32m Liverpool lead from the front for spending this summer, including the £116m British record deal for Florian Wirtz. The Reds have, somewhat uncharacteristically, spent big this summer after several seasons of comparatively modest investment. Last season, the Merseysiders made a profit of £29.14m before going on to win the Premier League title. Coupled with a new kit deal with adidas, the spending looks set to continue. A second British record move, for Newcastle's Alexander Isak, is expected. 4. Tottenham five-year net spend: -£529.42m Tottenham Hotspur are fourth for investment over the last five years and will hope to see substantial improvement for that outlay in 2025/26. Thomas Frank has replaced Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked after a dismal 17th-place finish last season. Europa League success was a notable silver lining, but not enough to save the Australian. 3. Arsenal five-year net spend: -£540.87m Arsenal edge out their North London rivals for third place with a net spend of £540.87m. That figure is set to swell imminently, as the Gunners close in on Viktor Gyokeres for an initial fee of £55m. 2. Manchester United five-year net spend: -£658.14m A new recruitment team will hope to get significantly more out of a Manchester United side that has had the second-highest investment of any Premier League team since 2021. The Red Devils have a net spend of more than £650m, but have finished in the top four just once in that time. Last season's 15th-place finish was the club's lowest for 51 years. 1. Chelsea five-year net spend: -£766.51m Chelsea are by far the biggest spenders in the Premier League with £766.51m net since 2021. The West Londoners' expenditure equates to around £1.52bn, which is almost twice as much as Manchester United (£869m) and Manchester City (£823m), who are the next highest spenders. Chelsea's £758m recouped from sales is a Premier League high. Read – See more – Follow The Football Faithful on Social Media: | | | |

Adama Traoré targeted by Nottingham Forest
Adama Traoré targeted by Nottingham Forest Adama Traoré could be reunited with Nuno Espírito Santo. The powerful 29-year-old winger, currently at Fulham, has caught the eye of Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese manager knows Traoré's explosive style inside out, having previously coached him at Wolverhampton. Together, they shone on the European stage. Now, a new partnership seems possible. According to several English sources, Forest are expected to submit an official offer in the coming days. While the player's value is estimated at €9 million, Fulham are reportedly holding out for closer to €15 million. Last season, the Spaniard scored 2 goals and provided 7 assists in 36 appearances—solid stats that highlight his impact on the pitch, despite inconsistent playing time. If he leaves, Fulham could turn to Reiss Nelson, who has struggled for minutes at Arsenal and is reportedly keen to revive his career elsewhere.
