IAS officer who was in news for resharing Kancha Gachibowli post transferred by Telangana govt
A few weeks ago, Gachibowli police summoned the bureaucrat following a notice. The inquiry pertained to an AI-generated Ghibli-style image linked to the disputed land issue, which was shared on her X account.
After recording her statement with the police, Ms. Sabharwal asked on X , 'The post was reshared by 2,000 individuals on this platform. I sought clarification on whether same action is initiated for all! If not, this raises concern about selective targeting, that in turn compromises the principles of natural justice and equality before the Law.'
The situation has created a buzz in the government circles.
The IAS officer was the secretary of the Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture department which is spearheading the arrangements for Miss World Beauty pageant 2025. Ms. Sabharwal was transferred two weeks away from the contest . She is now posted as member secretary of Telangana Finance Commission

‘Darekar panel diluting benefits offered by '19 GR on self-redevpt'
Mumbai: The recommendations of the Pravin Darekar committee on self-redevelopment will negate the benefits offered by the state govt through its 2019 Govt Resolution (GR) said housing activist Chandrashekar Prabhu. The committee submitted its report to the govt last week in the Vidhan Bhavan. CM Devendra Fadnavis, while accepting the report, said the recommendations would be forwarded to various depts to be studied and based on the recommendations of the various depts, the govt would come out with a new policy for self-redevelopment. Comparing the benefits offered in the 2019 GR on self-redevelopment and the recommendations of the Darekar committee, Prabhu said the GR offered 10% more floor space index (FSI) while the committee has recommended an additional 10% increase in carpet area. "Residents of a building that has opted for self-redevelopment get anywhere from 50% to 400% additional area. The 10% increase in carpet area means you get no extra area at all," he said. "Buildings that abut roads that are nine metres or more in width can opt for self-redevelopment. What about authorised buildings on roads with less than 9-metre width? There should be no discrimination based on road width," he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Private Jet - The Prices May Surprise You! "He said those opting for self-redevelopment are middle-class residents and govt must give the option of online or physical submission of proposals." he said, adding if the one-window system for clearance of proposals within three months is to be a reality then an IAS officer must be appointed to look into each case and smoothen out hurdles. Citing the quality of Cidco buildings, Prabhu said many buildings have become old and dilapidated with 10-15 years and are in urgent need of redevelopment. "The committee has recommended 30 years as the eligibility criteria for self-redevelopment. This should be done away with," he said. The committee's recommendation takes away the benefit of procuring TDR at 50% of the Ready Reckoner Rate as mentioned in the 2019 GR, instead it has proposed a 10% discount on premiums, said Prabhu.

Harish accuses Revanth of undermining Telangana's legacy
Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao accused chief minister A Revanth Reddy of attempting to erase the legacy of the Telangana statehood movement. He said despite such efforts, former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's 14-year struggle would be remembered and passed on to future generations. Speaking at the BRS Vidyarthi state-level conference on Saturday, Harish Rao alleged a conspiracy involving PM Modi, AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu, and Revanth to undermine Telangana. "It is our collective duty to expose and resist this," he said. Presenting on the Godavari–Banakacherla link project, he warned that Pothireddypadu's extension and Banakacherla's cross-regulator are aimed at diverting 200 tmc of Godavari water to Rayalaseema, bypassing Telangana's rightful share. Strong dialogue between govt, public representatives key to quality development: UP CM
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that a strong dialogue between the government and public representatives is necessary to ensure the speed and quality of development works and to meet public expectations. Strong dialogue between govt, public representatives key to quality development: UP CM Adityanath held a high-level review meeting with public representatives of Ayodhya and Devipatan divisions, and senior officials of the Public Works Department, and the Tourism and Culture Department at his official residence on Saturday, the UP government said in a statement. The objective of the meeting was to establish direct communication with public representatives and ensure the speed and quality of development works in accordance with their priorities and public expectations. He directed officials to implement this dialogue model across the state so that the mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" and "Sabka Vishwas" is reflected in every scheme and project. In the meeting, the chief minister said that the state government does not stop at just making schemes but also believes in implementing them on the ground and ensuring the public gets their benefits. He said, "Strong dialogue between the government and public representatives is necessary to achieve this goal." Adityanath said the state government provides separate financial resources to urban bodies and is giving a new direction to the overall development of cities through the CM Grid Scheme. He further directed that municipal corporations and municipal bodies must include local public representatives while reviewing development schemes in their respective areas. He emphasised that special attention should be given to municipal body areas where rural regions have been incorporated. The chief minister said that the width of roads in the state is being increased from 3.5 metres to 5 metres. This will not only make traffic safer and smoother but will also improve access for emergency services like ambulances and fire brigades. The Tourism and Culture Department was directed to identify at least one tourist spot in each assembly constituency of the state and develop public facilities along with beautification there. The chief minister also directed that proposals submitted by public representatives should be included in schemes on a priority basis, the statement said.
