Woollahra NSW
A four-bedroom home plus a one-bedroom self-contained apartment is hard to find anywhere in Woollahra, let alone in the village centre. Beautifully renovated from top to toe, the property features double-height ceilings over the key living areas, a media room with surround sound and a fireplace, a lift to the upper-level bedrooms and an internal courtyard with a plunge pool.
63 Walpole Street, Kew Vic
An imaginative renovation has swept this magnificent Victorian mansion into the 21st century. Bold colours and striking light fittings work well with heritage details, while the modern extension by Neil Architecture results in warm, character-filled interiors. The living room's original painted ceiling is a standout. 'It's a stunning, tasteful modernisation of a classic mansion,' the agent says.
12 Greenup Street, Redcliffe Qld
From the circular pivoting entry door to the barrel-vaulted ceilings in Queensland walnut veneer, Lantern is a celebration of fine materials and outstanding craftsmanship. Designed by award-winning architect Nicholas Elias, the home has two main-bedroom suites, two living zones, an eye-catching curvy kitchen with an integrated planter box, and a plunge pool set amid landscaped gardens.

'You're 38 levels up and the home is split across two levels, it's private and very secure.' Four of the bedrooms have an ensuite, while the main bedroom includes a walk-in wardrobe and bathtub with river views. The kitchen showcases Gaggenau appliances such as dual ovens and a steam oven, plus a butler's pantry. Mr Rombotis said the home was located in a Mirvac-built tower, construction was completed in 2015. 'It is pretty much very new, not even one appliance in the kitchen has been used,' Mr Rombotis said. The owners travel a lot and when in residence they enjoyed ordering food from the many eateries nearby, he added. Other features include zoned ducted airconditioning, a downstairs powder room and an upstairs room with a pool table. The building offers a concierge service, an indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym to residents. Mr Rombotis said they had received calls from international-based buyers about the penthouse. 'It would suit a family who are seeking to live in the city or someone wanting a CBD base,' he said. The residence is close to Southbank's dining and retail offerings, Southern Cross train station, the Arts Centre Melbourne and Melbourne's CBD. Expressions of interest close August 8. AFL ruckman Rhys Stanley enjoys new home and life on the land with family

When Geelong footballer Rhys Stanley and his wife Kirsten first set eyes on this expansive acreage on Victoria's surf coast, they knew it was the perfect place to build their forever home. With the plan to embrace a working farm life, the couple had been searching for land that not only reflected their love for wide-open spaces, but was also ideal for their three young children. "When we first found the site, we drove to the top of the hill and knew instantly that this is where we want to build our family's forever home," Rhys said. "The project is something we can grow with and grow into; we're hoping the farmhouse is going to be something we can love for generations." The couple enlisted the expertise of regional Victorian interior architecture and design studio, Studio Hallihan to bring their dream to life. Blending a traditional farmhouse aesthetic with modern design elements, the home embraces natural materials, while expansive walls, high-peaked vaulted ceilings and oversized windows let in natural light throughout the day, an integral component of the interior's design. One of the standout design elements in the home is its use of soft curves, a feature that adds elegance and flow between spaces. To achieve this, the couple turned to Gyprock Flexible plasterboard, which allowed their designer to bring creative curved featured walls and ceilings to life and marry the farmhouse style perfectly. "The designer had some fun with curves throughout the house, and they have turned out better than we could have imagined," Rhys said. "Seeing it completed and looking so beautiful fills us with a lot of pride." Boom-er and bust: Lifestyle's downsizer story undone by fee fight

Imagine life as an affordable housing provider in a housing crisis, with more property than you know what to do with, in a growing market serving Australia's ageing population and backed by the country's biggest superannuation fund. What could go wrong? If you listen to Lifestyle Communities' rivals, it is greed. The property owner with a stronghold of Victorian over-50s residential parks worked hard to keep rivals out of the state, charges fees that eat up tenants' capital gains and, now that it has fallen foul of the state's Civil and Administrative Tribunal, isn't deserving of sympathy.
