Buc-ee's is a well-known Texas brand with new convenience stores opening across the state.
Whether it's their selection of BBQ sandwiches, merchandise or clean restrooms, the beaver has attracted consumers all over the U.S. Founded in 1982 in Clute, Texas, the superstore has crushed its competition while continuing to expand.
The company believes bigger is better. Last year, they opened their largest location in Luling, replacing the brand's first family travel center with a 75,000-square-foot temple to highway convenience. Soon, two more Central Texas towns will have their own Buc-ee's.

Buc-ee's has already broken ground at its new San Marcos store, which is set to open in May 2026.
Multiple news outlets have reported new locations opening in nine states throughout the country, including two in Texas:

Benton, Arkansas: September 2026
Ocala, Florida: 2026
Brunswick, Georgia: July 2025
Monroe County, Georgia: Early 2026
Harrison County, Mississippi: 2025
Mebane, North Carolina: Late 2026 or early 2027

Boerne, Texas: 2026
San Marcos, Texas: May 2026
Rockingham County, Virginia: 2025
Buc-ee's reigns supreme in Texas, with 36 locations throughout the state.
Since 2019, the Texas chain has expanded to include four additional stores in Alabama, two in Florida, two in Georgia, and two in Tennessee, as well as one each in Missouri and South Carolina, among others.

Plans unveiled for new ‘experience' store in former card shop in shopping centre
PLANS to bring a brand-new experience store to Merry Hill Shopping Centre have been unveiled. A large blue and yellow branded sign has been erected covering the former site of Cardzone in the shopping centre's upper mall by Costa Coffee, advertising telecoms giants, EE, will be bringing an all-new experience store. The current EE store in the centre is still open as usual, with no news indicating whether it will close following the opening of this larger new site. Shoppers will have to wait in anticipation to find out an opening date, with EE so far simply saying the new store is 'coming soon'. The EE Experience stores are bigger than the typical retail store and are designed with dedicated 'experience zones' to provide a more immersive space for customers to get hands-on with EE's latest connected technology. Despite the EE experience store taking over its former home in the shopping centre, Cardzone has not left Brierley Hill. According to the shopping centre's site plan on its website, Cardzone has been relocated to the former Card Stop site next to the Black Country Hub. Card Stop went into administration earlier this year in March, with the store in Merry Hill subsequently closing.

Texas travel stop Buc-ee's sues South Carolina clothing company, alleges it copied famous beaver logo
Beloved Texas-based travel stop Buc-ee's is in a legal battle with a South Carolina-based clothing and accessories company over a beaver logo on its merchandise, according to court documents filed last month. Buc-ee's alleges that Born United, which sells merchandise featuring patriotic themes and slogans, is exploiting its reputation by using what appears to be its famous beaver logo. Photos attached to the lawsuit show a beaver, similar to the Buc-ee's beaver, on items like a t-shirt, shorts and a clothing patch. Born United t-shirt, left; Buc-ee's store front, right. Buc-ee's is suing for trademark infringement; false designation of origin and unfair competition; common law trademark infringement; and unfair competition under South Carolina's trade practices act. The items labeled "TAC-BUCC" have since been removed from Born United's website. Not the first time Buc-ee's has claimed copyright infringement In 2018, Buc-ee's argued that San Antonio's Choke Canyon's cartoon logo of an alligator licking its lips is too similar to the company's signature logo illustration of a beaver wearing a baseball cap. In 2023, a knock-off of Buc-ee's opened in Mexico, dubbed Buk-ii's Super Mercado. Buk-ii's said its mascot is a gopher rather than the famous Buc-ee's beaver.
