Dhalwad's 4-Lane Flyover and Mehad's 2-lane tunnel now operational
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Project Director Shubham Yadav stated that the construction of the flyover and canopy tunnel is a remarkable achievement by the NHAI, as these two spots had been a significant source of trouble on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) for passengers and commuters.
'The construction of both these projects is a big achievement for NHAI, as the two places were a big trouble on NH 44 for the passengers and commuters. Due to landslides and debris during rainfall, the traffic on NH 44 would be disrupted. A lot of people have also died on this highway due to the debris... Now, because of the timely construction of these two structures on these two most landslide-vulnerable spots on the NH44, the movement of the vehicles of Amarnath Yatra, tourists and fruit-laden heavy trucks besides routine local traffic has become hassle-free and smooth,' Yadav told ANI.
Yadav gave credit for the achievement to the unflinching support of the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways(MORT&H) Nitin Gadkari, Secretary (MORT&H) V Umashankar, NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav, Regional Officer RS Yadav and former Project Director Purshottam Kumar.
Earlier in Ramban on July 3, 17 medical camps were set up at langar sites along with mini hospitals. Ambulances were also deployed for the Amarnath Yatra.
Ramban Chief Medical Officer Kamal Zadoo told ANI, 'On behalf of the health department, we have set up 17 camps at langar sites and lodgement centres across Ramban district from Nashri tunnel to Navyug tunnel. Mini hospitals have been established at Yatri Niwas Chanderkot and Lambhar Ground, featuring a four-bed indoor facility, a laboratory, and an ECG unit. We have also placed cardiac monitors there this year. Two ambulances have been deployed at Yatri Niwas Chanderkot, the Langar Site in Chanderkot, and Lambhar Ground. We have also kept back-up ambulances for any untoward incidents...'
'The National Highway Authority and the administration have provided four additional ambulances, which we have deployed for yatra duty'. (ANI)

Over 8,600 pilgrims leave Jammu base camp for Amarnath Yatra in sixth batch
Amid a multi-tier security cover, more than 8,600 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu early Monday (July 7, 2025) to join the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in the Himalayas, officials said. More than 70,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine located at a height of 3,880 metres since the start of the 38-day yatra, which commenced from the twin tracks of Pahalgam in the Anantnag district and Baltal in the Ganderbal district on July 3. The sixth batch of 8,605 pilgrims — 6,486 men, 1,826 women, 42 children, and 251 sadhus and sadhvis — left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu in 372 vehicles for the twin base camps in Kashmir amid tight security arrangements at 3.30 a.m. and 4.25 a.m., the officials said. The first pilgrim convoy, carrying 3,486 pilgrims in 166 vehicles, left for the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route in the Ganderbal district, followed by the second convoy of 5,119 pilgrims in 206 vehicles who are undertaking the yatra from the 48-km traditional Pahalgam route in the Anantnag district, they said. This was the largest batch of pilgrims since Wednesday, when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the yatra in Jammu on July 2. With this, a total of 40,361 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for the valley. There is a huge rush at the counters for on-the-spot registration, with authorities increasing the number of counters as well as the daily quota to ease the rush. Over 3,000 devotees arrived in Jammu from various parts of the country to get themselves registered. Vivek Batra, the General Manager of the Goa Taj Hotel, highlighted how the area has been quite iconic, and upgrades were made to the rooftop bar to ensure that rain and monsoon do not interrupt the guest experience. 'Absolutely, you can't get it better, and this is a complete rooftop bar, and to be covered and have this type of a panoramic view, I don't think any place in Goa provides you with this type of a view and this type of experience. So definitely, I'm very, very excited to actually have this new kid on the block,' Batra told ANI on Sunday while highlighting its features. 'DPB has been existing, and it is becoming very iconic. So what we have done is that because of the rain, it should not interrupt, and that's why we have this now in place, which is completely covered, and you can come over. It's become an all-season bar,' he added. One of the guests at Dona Paula Bay highlighted how she enjoys India's monsoons and how the rooftop bar allows her to party all night, saying there is a lack of options otherwise in the state. 'It's beautiful. The monsoon is nice. Everything is very green. The space on the rooftop is very beautiful. I like it. I'm enjoying it here. It is actually my third monsoon (in India). It's a beautiful place. I like the drinks and food and what I like the most as a Russian citizen is that the party go through all night from 6 PM to 6 AM. Basically, in India or Goa, you have struggled to find a place to hang out at night, so you can do it here,' Debra, one of the guests, said.
