J-Hope reveals why 2018 was a difficult time for BTS, how it became scary: ‘It started feeling overwhelming'
J-Hope opens up on difficult times faced by BTS in 2018
J-Hope was asked about the most difficult time in his career. He replied, as translated by allkpop, "Around 2018, BTS was receiving so much love that I started wondering if we truly deserved all that attention. People's eyes on us became a little scary. Normally, getting a reaction is something to be grateful for, but it started feeling overwhelming. Even the members went through a bit of a slump."
J-Hope shares how BTS members sailed through the tough times
The BTS member shared that the group managed to overcome those emotions together. He added that they got through it by "reminding ourselves of our message—Love Yourself". The rapper said that the "idea wasn't just for others; it applied to us too. And as we embraced it, we found real strength'. He also said that writing songs helped BTS "learn and grow emotionally".
What are J-Hope's concerns now about BTS
When asked if he had any recent concerns, J-Hope talked about BTS' upcoming activities. 'Now that all the members have completed their military service, we're preparing to resume team activities. But it's been such a long time—we haven't been together as seven in nearly three or four years. I'm constantly thinking about how to best coordinate things with the members as we reunite. It's been so long, so I want to do it right,' he added.
As a full group, the last release of BTS was Yet to Come (2022). After that, the BTS members served in the military. Jin started his military service in December 2022 and completed it in June last year. J-Hope was discharged in October 2023. Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook completed their service in June this year.

'Thousands of death threats': Pirate Software quits Offbrand Games over Stop Killing Games controversy
(Image via @PirateSoftware/YouTube) The Stop Killing Games campaign has just crossed a major milestone—1 million signatures and counting. But instead of celebration across the board, it's also stirred controversy and backlash. Indie dev and streamer Pirate Software, also known as Thor, has responded after becoming a lightning rod for outrage from supporters of the movement. The Petition That Shook the Industry Stop Killing Games (SGF) started as a movement urging game publishers to maintain access to digital games, even after they lose official support. The argument? Players who paid for a game should be able to access it permanently. As of now, the petition has drawn over 1.15 million signatures. Pirate Software Pushes Back Pirate Software, who previously criticized the campaign for being too 'vague,' has found himself at the center of the storm. In a July 4 Twitch stream, Thor revealed the extreme fallout following his comments. 'I got swatted on Tuesday,' he said. He described receiving tens of thousands of death threats—not just toward him, but also directed at his moderation team. Constant phone calls, harassment, and doxxing followed. Pirate Software QUITS Game Development After Stop Killing Games Petition Success! 'Corporate Plant,' 'Nepobaby,' and Other Attacks Thor described the level of online harassment as relentless. According to him, users attacked his life's work and claimed he never held the jobs listed in his professional history, even in the face of proof. He added that he'd been called everything from 'corporate plant' to 'napobaby,' expressing visible frustration at how the campaign's success had turned into personal vendettas against him. Fallout From Offbrand Games The backlash wasn't limited to just words. On July 3, Thor announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he had stepped away from Offbrand Games, a studio founded by fellow creator Ludwig. He said supporters of the campaign began attacking all titles published by the studio simply due to his involvement, calling the behavior 'unhinged.' A Final Word to SGF Though clearly embattled, Thor didn't wish failure on the movement itself. Instead, he left viewers with a sharp message: 'I hope that your initiative [SGF] gets everything that you asked for, but nothing you wanted.' It's a statement layered in bitterness—possibly a wish for the movement to succeed on paper but fail in its spirit. Where This Leaves the Industry As SGF's petition grows, the debate over digital ownership is louder than ever. But Thor's experience raises a tough question: Can disagreement survive in online spaces without turning into personal destruction? While Stop Killing Games may want to protect digital access, this chapter highlights another issue that needs saving—civil discourse. What followed was a fiery takedown that called Legal Mindset everything from a 'passport bro' to a 'fake lawyer.' Here's what happened. The Trigger: Hasan's Toy Gun Clip A ll of this stems from a recent incident that blew up online. Twitch has a Hasan Problem (Fast Facts) Legal Mindset Fires Back Legal Mindset, who covered the entire episode in his video Twitch has a Hasan Problem (Fast Facts) , argued that Hasan's behavior violated Twitch's ToS. Around the 6-minute mark, he said: 'This is clearly against their ToS… both the doxing and the threatening.' After Hasan's 'fake lawyer' remarks, Legal Mindset posted a calm yet pointed reply on X (formerly Twitter): 'I've started to enjoy when people resort to ad hominem, as it means they lack the capacity for informed and objective debate.' While Legal Mindset's followers backed his stance, many on Twitch and X seemed entertained by Hasan's blunt takedown. When a 'traumatised' Rakhee Majumdar decided to end her marriage with Gulzar after he showed concern for Suchitra Sen: 'We deserve an award for the best split couple'
Veteran actress Rakhee Majumdar's marriage to lyricist Sampooran Singh Kalra, popularly known as Gulzar , became an emotional topic for her fans when their bond ended on a traumatic note. However, after parting ways unofficially, they grew closer to each other. Rakhee Majumdar's failed marriage with Ajay Biswas Rakhee had married Bengali filmmaker Ajay Biswas at a young age, but they separated in 1965. Later, fate brought her together with Gulzar. The acclaimed lyricist and writer married Rakhee in 1973, and the couple welcomed their daughter Meghna Gulzar the same year. Reportedly, Gulzar asked Rakhee to step away from her acting career after marriage. Rakhee Majumdar's marriage with Gulzar Trusting that her passion could still find space in Gulzar's own productions, Rakhee agreed. She turned down multiple film offers, hoping her husband might cast her in his films. However, those expectations were dashed when Gulzar repeatedly chose other actresses for his projects. Rakhee's tolerance reached its limit during the J&K shoot of Gulzar's Aandhi. A post-shoot gathering led to a tense moment when lead actor Sanjeev Kumar allegedly misbehaved with actress Suchitra Sen . Gulzar intervened to de-escalate the situation and later escorted Suchitra to her hotel. Though his intentions may have been noble, Rakhee felt hurt and questioned him about his actions. Rakhee Majumdar's return to Bollywood The confrontation turned violent. According to reports, Gulzar hit Rakhee for questioning him. The incident left her traumatised. The very next day, filmmaker Yash Chopra offered her a role in Kabhi Kabhie. Rakhee returned to films, despite her husband's disapproval. Kabhi Kabhie marked a powerful comeback for her, and the duo decided to live apart. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local network access control Esseps Learn More Undo Their daughter Meghna was unwilling to see her parents officially part ways, so they never legally divorced. The duo later maintained a respectful bond with each other. Rakhee Majumdar's bond with Gulzar after separation In an old interview with Stardust, Rakhee spoke about the dynamics of their post-separation relationship. 'We deserve an award for the best split couple. We are more well-adjusted than most married couples. Gulzar and I are there for each other. He treats me as if I were still his wife. He calls me from his house and tells me, 'I've called four friends for dinner. There's no food at home. So please, quickly send some jhinga curry. ' I send it across.' Rakhee also opened up about how Gulzar's films often mirrored intimate aspects of their personal life. Over the years, she observed that he drew inspiration from their shared moments and translated them into scenes and characters on screen. She believes that only the two of them can truly recognise the real-life situations behind those cinematic moments. Recalling their time as a married couple, she shared that their evenings often involved creative exchanges—Gulzar would read his stories aloud while she translated Bengali stories for him. She would remain by his side as he continued writing late into the night. Two of those stories were eventually adapted into his films, Parichay and Khushboo. She also mentioned a call she once received from Gulzar, during which he praised her role in 'Ram Lakhan'.
