Yemen: From al-Sarkah of innocence to forefront of confrontation with forces of hegemony

Saba Yemen07-05-2025
Sana'a - Saba:
The anniversary of the launch of the slogan "al-Sarkah in the Face of the Arrogant" falls this year as Yemen stands at the forefront of the nation, playing a key role in deterrence equations, influencing the battlefield, and shaping, through its political and military presence, the contours of a historic transformation that restores the nation's prestige, foremost among them Palestine.
The slogan, launched by the martyred leader, Sayyed Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in Saada in 2002, has transformed from a slogan into al-Sarkah of awareness and revolution against Arab subservience and against the American hegemony that had dominated the region for decades under false pretenses.
Over the past two decades, this slogan has served as the starting point for a comprehensive liberation project that began with identifying the enemy, progressed through a phase of internal development, and actually began direct confrontation with the tools and forces of hegemony.
The martyr leader said of that founding moment: "We had to find a way to express our anger at America and Israel, through a slogan that would instill in the nation's conscience a sense of hostility toward the oppressors... It is a slogan that represents a position, not just words, it is a declaration of innocence from all the tyrants who shed the nation's blood."
The path of the Scream was not easy. From its earliest days, the Quranic project faced a comprehensive targeting campaign, in which the founding leader sacrificed his life as a price for this great project. Hundreds of his comrades were arrested, but the flame of the Scream did not die down; instead, it transformed into a fire of awareness that ignited in the Yemeni conscience.
In the midst of the aggression against Yemen, which began in 2015, the Scream became a symbol of the national and sovereign stance, and a lever for a historic popular steadfastness that shattered the hordes of aggressor coalitions.
The martyr leader said in one of his lessons: 'When you launch al-Sarkah 'Allah is Great, Death to America...' you are establishing a front of awareness, raising a nation on insight, and creating a real enemy for itself instead of letting it get lost in the enmity between the nation's factions... The slogan is the beginning of awareness and the seed of freedom.'
Today, after ten years of aggression and blockade, Yemen is transforming from a country once intended to be subjugated into an unstoppable regional power, inspired by the slogan of the "Scream" al-Sarkah—the principle of independence and liberation.
This year's anniversary takes on an exceptional dimension, as Yemen leads the resistance front against the Zionist project, directly engaging in support of Gaza, at a time when most Arab regimes have chosen silence or complicity.
The naval operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden have transformed the slogan of the "Scream" from mere chants to the battlefield, confirming that the time for rhetoric is over and the time for action has begun.
This transformation was described by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who said: "The slogan we raise in the face of the arrogant is no longer a position confined to a square, but has become a practical vision for confronting arrogance on all fronts, from sea to land, from Gaza to Sana'a... Our slogan is no longer an echo of a voice, but rather the voice of action."
This step did not come out of nowhere. Rather, it was the result of an accumulation of strategic awareness that stemmed from the project of the Martyr Leader, was baptized with blood and sacrifice, and was embodied in a leadership vision that believes that the liberation of Jerusalem begins with liberation from subordination.
Emphasizing the faith-based dimension of the slogan, the Leader of the Revolution said: "This slogan is a principled position that expresses our Quranic orientation and our allegiance to authentic Islam... A slogan that expresses our rejection of American hegemony, our hostility toward the Zionist entity, and our complete support for the issues of the Ummah, foremost among them Palestine."
Al-Sarkah, in essence, is not a call to violence, but rather a faith-based and moral stance against injustice. Hence, the support for Gaza is a natural extension of this cry, affirming that those who cry out against America and Israel cannot remain silent in the face of the massacres in Palestine.
Yemen has shifted the Palestinian cause from the realm of verbal solidarity to the arena of conflict, turning the Red Sea into a direct confrontation front with the Zionist entity and its defenders, in a clear message that the era of costless arrogance is over.
Facts confirm that Yemen today has become a formidable force in the region, not only because of its growing military capabilities, but also because it possesses a genuine liberation project based on principles, addressing the people, not the regimes, and deriving its legitimacy from the steadfastness of its people.
While others rely on external support, Yemen relies on a solid internal and popular will, inspired by the call and driven by facts, confirming that the battle for dignity and independence is possible, and that victory is not an illusion.
The confrontation at sea and the highly tactical operations conducted by the Yemeni Armed Forces have proven that the equation has changed, and that the rules that governed the scene for decades no longer apply. The war is no longer directed solely from Washington and Tel Aviv.
The call is no longer confined to Yemen; it has transformed into a revolutionary icon that ignites peoples in the region and the world. When an idea is born sincere, it finds its way to hearts and transcends borders and geography.
Today, Yemen leads the Arab and Islamic scene as an independent state, possessing a sovereign will and a people committed to their cause and project. The slogan "The Scream" is one of the most prominent symbols of this liberation identity.
In contrast, the forces of arrogance are suffering from the erosion of their prestige and are receiving blows one after another, amidst escalating Arab and Islamic popular anger over international double standards and the crimes of the occupation.
Yemen no longer expresses merely its own position; it expresses the conscience of the nation. This is what Washington and Tel Aviv fear. A single, free voice is disrupting the calculations of major alliances and turning the tables on arrogance.
Thus, the memory of al-Sarkah today evokes a history of patience and steadfastness, while simultaneously embodying a reality of action and influence, heralding a liberating future where there is no room for guardianship or hegemony.
Al-Sarkah has triumphed... not because it was raised, but because it has transformed into political behavior and a practical stance, into a sea that prevents the enemy from crossing, a sky that is closed to the occupier, American planes that are falling, and a people that will not compromise on its dignity or its cause.

President Al-Mashat calls on rulers, peoples of Arab & Islamic countries to take strong & unified stance towards Zionist siege & starvation of our brothers in Gaza

Sana'a - Saba: H.E. Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, called on all Arab and Islamic countries' rulers and peoples to take a strong and unified stance towards the Zionist siege and starvation of the brothers in Gaza. In a statement to Yemeni News Agency (Saba), President Al-Mashat said, "The world, which has been silenced by the Zionist machine of falsehood and propaganda, must hear our position in the face of the brutal extermination of our people in Gaza." "Everyone must realise that the Israeli entity is the problem and that pursuing illusions of solutions with it is a form of wandering and loss, and let us confront every voice that rises that would divert the compass of hostility to this criminal enemy and its supporters to inter-communal provocations, whatever their titles," he added. He pointed out that the children who are dying of hunger in Gaza have no affiliation except the humanitarian instinct, so let's not fail them by inter-group quarrels, silence and inaction. The President expressed hope that all Arab and Islamic countries, rulers and peoples, will take action to save Gaza from genocide, stressing that the nation is in dire need of a strong and unified stance to push back the imminent danger before it affects everyone. "Whoever has no position in Gaza and Palestine will not be able to pay the danger when it strikes, and whoever is not disturbed by the tragic scenes of the starving dead in Gaza is insensitive and has lost his pride, religion, Islam and humanity," he said. "Let us all go to wash away the shame of our nation before history curses us and the Zionists tread on our faces. There is no excuse for anyone before God and the responsibility falls on everyone," he added. President Al-Mashat reiterated that "we are ready in the Republic of Yemen to be at the forefront of the trend towards unity of position and cooperation in the face of the dreaded Zionist criminality and its evil supporters, and we are waiting for official signals from Arab and Islamic countries." Addressing Arab and Muslim rulers, he said, ": "If you are unable to act, let the peoples move to have a position, and if the peoples do not move, the penalty of silence and silence will reach all the peoples of our nation, and God will help us. "Fatah Uprising": Knesset vote to impose sovereignty in West Bank is recognition of open war

Gaza - Saba: The Fatah Uprising movement stated on Wednesday that the Zionist Knesset's vote on a proposal calling for the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and the Jordan Valley constitutes an acknowledgment of open war against the Palestinian people, aimed at seizing their lands. In a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the movement said that the Zionist Knesset's approval of a proposal to impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and the Jordan Valley is tantamount to an admission of the open war waged by the criminal entity against the Palestinian people, with the goal of controlling their land and expelling as many Palestinians as possible. The movement emphasized that Palestine remains an Arab-Islamic land, "despite the Zionist enemy's schemes." The movement further asserted that "the Zionist Knesset's decision to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank is a declaration of war on every aspect of daily life for Palestinian citizens in the occupied territory." It added that this move confirms that the Zionist settlement project "has reached a dead end and achieved its goals, whether concerning Quds or the occupied West Bank." The statement declared that "the Palestinian response to these decisions will be to reaffirm our national and popular sovereignty over the land and to escalate all forms of resistance to protect our land and the unwavering rights of our Palestinian people." The movement stressed that "the war of will we are waging against the enemy will end with the freedom of our people and the expulsion of the occupier from all of Palestine, from its sea to its river." Houthis Accused of Forcing Yemeni Fishermen to Lease Boats for Red Sea Hostilities

Al Hudaydah — Local officials and fishermen in Yemen's western coastal region have accused the Houthi movement of coercing fishing communities into leasing their boats for military operations in the Red Sea, raising alarm over the safety of civilians and maritime navigation. According to Ali Al-Ahdal, Director of the Media Office in Al Hudaydah Governorate, Houthi forces have pressured fishermen to either rent out their vessels to armed operatives or personally sail near commercial shipping lanes under threat of retaliation. 'They are being used as human shields,' Al-Ahdal stated, calling for international investigation into the alleged abuses. Fishermen in the region say they have ceased going to sea, fearing their boats may be mistaken for hostile targets by international naval forces. 'The sea has become a source of fear, not livelihood,' said one fisherman, who requested anonymity for safety reasons. Reports suggest that fishing ports and landing centers have been repurposed by Houthi forces for smuggling and reconnaissance activities, further disrupting the local economy and food supply. The accusations come amid escalating tensions in the Red Sea, where Houthi attacks on commercial vessels have prompted rerouting of global shipping and increased military patrols. Human rights advocates warn that the exploitation of civilian assets for military use violates international humanitarian law and endangers non-combatants. Calls have been made to the UN Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) to investigate the claims and monitor the situation on the ground.
