17-year-old in serious condition after two-car crash
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the boy was driving a Ford Focus and turning left to go eastbound on State Route 56 near mile post 54 when troopers say he pulled out in front of another vehicle going westbound.
Troopers say the boy suffered serious injuries and was life flighted to a nearby hospital.
The driver and passenger in second car suffered minor injuries.
The road was shut briefly during the crash but has since reopened.

Tank Turn Returns: Rivian Teases Long-Awaited Feature
When Rivian first burst onto the EV scene with the R1S SUV and R1T pickup in 2019, few features grabbed more attention than "Tank Turn" – a party trick that allows the EV to spin in place like an off-road ballerina. The system, also found in the electric G-Class, rotates the wheels on either side in opposite directions to pivot the car 360 degrees. The tank turn quickly became a sensation, but before Rivian could make it to production, CEO RJ Scaringe nixed the feature, citing concerns over trail damage. That move was intended to reinforce Rivian's environmentally responsible image, but left early fans disappointed. Now, in a teaser clip posted to social media, Tank Turn appears to be making its long-awaited return. The six-second video shows a second-gen R1S performing a 90-degree turn before revealing the etched launch date of July 8, 2025, written in dust on its side. The feature will debut with the company's most powerful configuration yet: the Quad-Motor R1S and R1T, which are expected to bring this long-shelved feature to life. Rivian announced its second-generation R1 models last year, including overhauled mechanicals, a better electrical architecture, and greatly improved autonomy and infotainment systems. Among those updates was the new Quad-Motor drivetrain, delivering a staggering 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque, allowing a 2.5-second sprint to 60 mph for the R1T (2.6 seconds for the R1S). However, at the time, it was only available for reservation, without an exact delivery timeline. That changes next week. The Quad Launch Edition, which will arrive with every update for second-generation Rivians, will finally open for orders. These new Rivians go beyond spec-sheet frenzy; they come with real improvements: zonal electrical layouts that reduce wiring, a redesigned heat pump for range efficiency, a 420-mile Max Pack, and a new Autonomy Platform with 360-degree vision and AI-powered driving assistance. Even the interior experience has been elevated, with Dolby Atmos audio, Apple Music integration, and a new Unreal Engine-based UI. Getting access to the return of Tank Turn – and everything else the second-gen R1S and R1T offer – won't come cheap. Pricing starts at $75,900 for the R1S and $69,900 for the R1T, but the Quad Launch Edition is expected to be priced at around $115,900. We'll know the exact figures soon enough, but for now, know that reservations require a $3,000 refundable deposit. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after the official July 8 announcement. Forget The BMW Speedtop And Buy This Original Clown Shoe Instead
BMW recently revealed the Concept Speedtop, a while after the Concept Touring Coupe of 2023. Both have been thought of as modern interpretations of the M Coupe. That's because their two-door designs and stretched roofs mirror the profile of the original clown shoe. Unfortunately, the Touring Coupe isn't going into production and only 70 examples of the Speedtop will be produced; the latter is expected to cost around $500,000. If you don't have that much cash lying around, the alternative is to buy an original clown shoe, and a stunning example of this has just popped up for sale on Bring A Trailer. This 2002 BMW M Coupe is selling at no reserve, and the current bid is sitting on $77,000 at the time of writing with a few days left to run. It's finished in Estoril Blue Metallic over Nappa leather in a mix of black and Estoril Blue. Only 22 examples of the M Coupe came in this spec. The original owner in California cared for the car until 2025, and it accumulated a mere 7,000 miles in that time, so is not yet close to dangerous territory when it comes to the VANOS and rod bearing issues these S54 engines are infamous for. This year, the rearview mirror and shift knob were freshly replaced due to age-related visible wear, but otherwise, the car appears original. It still looks as unique as ever on its Shadow-finished 17-inch wheels, while the classic analog dials and old-school BMW Business CD sound system are typical of the period. The trio of physical climate controls reek of simplicity alongside today's iDrive setup, and these are matched by three gauges below. The star of the show here is the 3.2-liter S54 inline six-cylinder engine, sans turbos or any sort of electrickery. The outputs of 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque seem outclassed by today's standards, but it's the way this car revs to around 8,000 rpm that very few modern engines can match. A five-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels, and the car is fitted with a limited-slip differential. Engine oil, along with transmission and differential fluids, were all changed in preparation for the sale. The car has a clean CarFax report and a clean California title. Related: Dumb cars that are actually cool While manual BMWs are still around, everything seems heavy and overly complicated alongside this pure M Coupe. This little bread van can't hope to match the craftsmanship and V8 strength of the Speedtop, but its spirit is impossible to replicate in a modern car, and it'll be one lucky buyer that gets their hands on this example. 2027 BMW M5 LCI Spied With Cleaner Neue Klasse Looks
Our spies on the Old Continent have caught the facelift of the G90 BMW M5, and they tell us to expect plenty of changes, and not just on the surface. The current super sedan and its wagon sibling were only introduced a year ago, but BMW is not one to withhold new technology or even new design cues for future generations. Instead, the M5's mid-cycle update, or Life Cycle Impulse, as BMW calls it, will bring with it a look inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse concept and an interior with BMW's new Panoramic iDrive system, which was previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of the year. The new M5 will change little about its lower front and rear fascias, but the top half of each end of the car will gain completely new lighting units. At the front, the trademark kidney grilles will frame the width of the car, with Iconic Glow illumination giving the M5 a distinctive nighttime signature. Moving backward, the hood may be slightly massaged, but the wing mirrors seem unchanged, as do most of the other body lines, including the door panels and side skirts. Interestingly, however, the roof does not appear to be made of carbon fiber or BMW's incoming plant-based alternative, and we don't see a recess down its spine as on the current M5. Recent leaks reveal that the next-generation M3 is unlikely to get a composite roof either, but perhaps BMW wants to reserve that for Competition models, as was once the case. At the back of the M5 LCI, the new taillight clusters are still placeholder units that won't be offered to customers, but their shape indicates that they won't deviate much from the current design. Future M cars are expected to have unique headlight graphics (and possibly colors), so we expect something similar at the rear. Then again, a quad-exit exhaust with a massive diffuser panel may be enough. We're not expecting much in the way of changes under the hood. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain will carry over, and our spies say we should not expect any increases in output (a combined 717 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, for the record). A debut will happen sometime in 2026, possibly near the end of the year. Unfortunately, even though the M5 was just hit with a price increase for the 2026 model year, our spies say the facelift will cost around €150,000, or over $176,000. That's more than 50 grand pricier than the M5 is today, so we hope BMW can justify the extra outlay. Less weight, perhaps? We can only hope...
