Blackheath rugby player stabbed to death in Bermondsey pictured for first time
Brendan McMillan and his 'beloved' dad Terry were named yesterday (July 29) as the victims of a quadruple stabbing in Long Lane on Monday (July 28).
Police were called to a business on Long Lane around 1pm where Terry, 58 from Chislehurst, died at the scene.
Three people were taken to hospital including 27-year-old Brendan, who later passed away.
Images have now been shared of Brendan, after Old Colfeians Rugby Club in Blackheath paid tribute to the two.

'Brendan lit up every room he walked into, forever smiling, always cracking a joke and always full of life. His absence will be deeply felt for a long time to come. We will miss him more than words can say and we'll always carry his memory with us.
'We are also mourning the loss of his beloved father, Terry, a long-time supporter and sponsor of the club.
'Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.'
Police in Long Lane after the stabbing (Image: James Manning / PA) Terry set up a company in 1998, now known as The Trademark Group, specialising in property development and investment, according to The McMillan Family Trust, a charity which aims to transform the lives of young people in different communities.
Police reiterated that the incident took place inside a business premises.
Two other people were injured in the attack with one facing life-threatening injuries.
Earlier on Tuesday, police said a 31-year-old man, who is a British citizen and was initially detained in connection with the incident, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.
A crime scene is in place at a hotel nearby where the man entered.
Speculation that the man was staying at the hotel is not accurate, the force said.

Rival protest groups have clashed outside a London asylum hotel as police issued an urgent arrest warning. Several demonstrators were detained by officer on Saturday (2 August) after clashing with rival groups at a protest against the use of the Thistle City Barbican Hotel in Islington, north London, to accommodate asylum seekers. People believed to be migrants earlier on Saturday watched the protests from the hotel's windows, with some waving and blowing kisses as demonstrators chanted and banged drums in the street below. A man wearing an England football shirt was detained by police after a confrontation with officers. A group of anti-fascist protesters blocked a junction outside the hotel. Officers then pushed into the crowd to detain several people, dragging them out by their arms and legs. The Metropolitan Police said the protest against the use of the Islington hotel was organised by local residents under the banner 'Thistle Barbican needs to go – locals say no'. A counter-protest, organised by Stand Up To Racism and supported by former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, as well as other groups including Finsbury Park Mosque and Islington Labour Party, took place. Police said the anti-asylum hotel protest had been 'endorsed by groups from outside the local community which is likely to increase the number of people attending'. Online groups that have voiced support for the protest include 'Patriots of Britain' and 'Together for the Children'. The Metropolitan Police said plans were in place to 'respond to any protest activity in the vicinity of other hotels in London being used to accommodate asylum seekers'. A counter-protester outside the Thistle City Barbican Hotel said he wants migrants to 'feel safe' in the UK. Student Pat Prendergast, 21, said: 'I want people to feel safe. I think the (rival protesters) over there are making people feel unsafe. 'I want to stand up in solidarity and say that, you know, we want people here. We want migrants. We want asylum seekers.' A noticeably smaller group of protesters waved union flags and held banners outside the hotel. 'Get these scum off our streets', one man chanted in the direction of the hotel. A large group of masked protesters dressed in black chanting 'we are anti-fascist' appeared from a side street and marched towards the rival group outside the hotel. There were brief clashes before police rushed in to separate the two groups. Chief Superintendent Clair Haynes, in charge of the force's policing operation, said: 'We have been in discussions with the organisers of both protests in recent days, building on the ongoing engagement between local officers, community groups and partners. 'We understand that there are strongly held views on all sides. 'Our officers will police without fear or favour, ensuring those exercising their right to protest can do so safely, but intervening at the first sign of actions that cross the line into criminality. 'We have used our powers under the Public Order Act to put conditions in place to prevent serious disorder and to minimise serious disruption to the lives of people and businesses in the local community. 'Those conditions identify two distinct protest areas where the protests must take place, meaning the groups will be separated but still within sight and sound of each other.' Elsewhere across the UK, there were also posts online advertising a 'for our children, for our future' protest in Newcastle outside The New Bridge Hotel. A 'stop the far right and fascists in Newcastle' counter-protest has been organised by Stand Up To Racism at the nearby Laing Art Gallery. Northumbria Police have been approached for comment. Meanwhile, about 100 people attended a protest outside the Stanwell Hotel in Spelthorne, Surrey, on Friday evening, during which a packet of lit firelighters was thrown at police, Surrey Police said. A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson and inquiries are ongoing to trace another suspect, the force said. Officers also arrested a man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder and aggravated trespass following a protest at the same location on Thursday evening.

A callous Birmingham murderer who stabbed his pregnant girlfriend to death after she refused to get an abortion has died in prison. Evil Filmon Andmichaen had lured the victim to a secluded wooded spot off Freeth Street, in Ladywood, before killing her in August 2023. The 32-year-old had been in a relationship with Liwam Bereket, 26, who was six-months pregnant and looking forward to becoming a mum. He was found guilty of her murder following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court, which ended in November last year. He was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years in prison. Now it has emerged that Andmichaen died while serving his sentence at HMP Full Sutton, a Category A and B men's prison, near Pocklington, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Prison and Probation Ombudsman are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death in custody, which happened on Tuesday, July 8. The investigation status of the case is "in progress". A Prison Service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: "Filmon Andmichaen died on 08 July 2025. As with all deaths in custody, the Prison and Probation Ombudsman will investigate." During the murder trial it emerged that almost two hours after stabbing Liwam, Andmichaen called the police and confessed to killing her, He had claimed it was an accident. Officers found Liwam with fatal injuries. Sadly, she and her unborn baby girl died at the scene. An investigation was launched and in the days that followed witnesses told police that they had previously seen Andmichaen assault Liwam in the street. Friends of Liwam's also described Andmichaen's treatment of her as "abusive and aggressive." CCTV captured Liwam and Andmichaen arriving at Freeth Street and disappearing towards woodland. It would be the last time Liwam would be seen alive. Speaking following the sentencing last year, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Colclough from West Midlands Police's Homicide Unit, said: 'It's just heart-breaking that a young woman who was looking forward to becoming a mum was killed in such a callous way. 'This was a very distressing investigation for my team, but they have been determined to get justice for Liwam and her family. Andmichaen has shown no remorse for his actions and has caused Liwam's family further pain by putting them through a trial."

Michigan Walmart stabbing witnesses sought by Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office is seeking to speak with witnesses in the stabbing attack at a Michigan Walmart. The sheriff's office in a Facebook post on Friday said it's hoping to speak with anyone who witnessed any part of the incident, provided first aid or assistance to those who were wounded, or has video footage or relevant information that may help the investigation. "Your observations and actions may be critical in helping detectives piece together the full scope of the incident," the sheriff's office said. Anyone who was at the scene during the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 231-995-5012. Five men and six women, including one store employee, were wounded in the July 26 attack at the Traverse City Walmart. All were taken to the hospital. As of Saturday, four of those people are in good condition, two have been treated and transferred, and the other five were treated and released on Friday, Munson Health Care said. The northern Michigan-based organization has been providing care for the victims at its medical center in Traverse City. Bradford James Gille, 42, is accused of carrying out the attack. The Afton, Michigan, man is charged with one count of terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder, court records show. He has pleaded not guilty. The sheriff's office said Gille was taken into custody after multiple citizens, including one who was armed with a pistol, confronted him in the parking lot of the store and prevented him from harming other people.
