Today (May 19th), we got some big news from REFORM Alliance! The national advocacy organization announced the official return of its star-studded Casino Night and Gala event. Co-hosted by board members Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and Shawn 'JAY-Z' Carter, this year's gala will return on Saturday, September 13th in Atlantic City.
This year's REFORM Casino Night & Gala will feature a special headlining performance by Grammy Award-winning artist The Weeknd and once again will feature a high-stakes $1 million blackjack tournament. The event aims to raise crucial funds to fuel REFORM's mission of transforming the probation and parole system in the U.S. The inaugural event in 2023 smashed expectations, raising over $24 million and drawing an A-list crowd including Travis Scott, Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, Kevin Hart, Matthew McConaughey, Lil Baby, and more.
Since its founding in 2019, REFORM has become a national leader in criminal justice reform. Inspired by Meek Mill's own experiences with the probation system, the organization is focused on advancing bipartisan legislation, evidence-based policy, and grassroots partnerships. To date, REFORM has helped pass 21 bipartisan bills across 12 states, creating pathways for 850,000+ people to exit the justice system.
All proceeds from this year's gala will directly benefit REFORM's continued work to provide opportunity, support reentry, and reduce recidivism for millions of Americans impacted by the system. A stable job is one of the most effective ways to break cycles of recidivism – REFORM is actively connecting justice-involved individuals with opportunities and support to help people succeed.
Salute to the REFORM team for continuing to make a difference. We can't wait to see how this year's event turns out. Check out some photos from the first Casino Night and Gala below!

Michael Douglas says he has 'no real intentions' of returning to acting

"If something special came up, I'd go back, but otherwise, no," he said. 3:24 Michael Douglas is pressing pause on acting -- at least for now. While speaking recently at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic, where he presented a newly restored print of Miloš Forman's classic 1975 film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," which Douglas co-produced, the Oscar-winning actor opened up about his future in the industry. 'I have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop,' Douglas said, according to Variety. 'I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set.' He continued, 'I have no real intentions of going back. I say I'm not retired because if something special came up, I'd go back, but otherwise, no.' Douglas, who will turn 81 years old in September, last appeared on the big screen in 2023's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," and most recently portrayed Benjamin Franklin in the 2024 Apple TV+ miniseries "Franklin." He's also set to star alongside his son, Cameron Douglas, in the upcoming film "Looking Through Water," which has yet to receive a release date. The conversation during the Karlovy Vary Film Festival press conference also touched on Douglas' past health struggles. Reflecting on his 2010 battle with stage 4 tongue cancer, he shared that he opted for chemotherapy and radiation over surgery, which would have involved removing part of his jaw and threatened his ability to speak and act. 'Stage 4 cancer is not a holiday but there aren't many choices, are there?' he said. 'I went with the program, involving chemo and radiation, and was fortunate. The surgery would have meant not being able to talk and removing part of my jaw and that would have been limiting as an actor.' Douglas, who is married to longtime wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, also revealed that he has 'one little independent movie' in the works but joked that these days that 'in the spirit of maintaining a good marriage,' he's 'happy to play the wife' to Jones.

Taskmaster Season 20 Cast: 5 Celebrities On The New Line-Up Announced

The five celebrities taking part in the next season of the hit comedy competition series Taskmaster have been unveiled. On Thursday evening, Channel 4 revealed the line-up for the Bafta-winning show's 20th run, which will air later this year. Joining the cast this time around will be The League Of Gentlemen and Inside No. 9 creator Reece Shearsmith and the comedian and actor Sanjeev Bhaskar, best known for his roles in shows like Goodness Gracious Me, The Kumars At No. 42 and Unforgotten. They'll be joined by stand-up comedians Maisie Adam, Ania Magliano, and Phil Ellis. A Channel 4 press release teased: 'The almighty Taskmaster Greg Davies and his faithful admin keeper Alex Horne have gathered some of the most brilliant and eclectic comedy minds and assigned them one mission: to become a Taskmaster Champion.' No release date for the 20th series of Taskmaster has been given, but Channel 4 has insisted that more information will be 'revealed in due course'. The last season of Taskmaster aired over several weeks earlier in the year, featuring appearances from the likes of Rosie Ramsey, Jason Mantzoukas, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Stevie Martin, and Matthew Baynton. It's now been almost 10 years since Taskmaster first aired on Dave in 2015, before making the move to Channel 4 four years later, quickly going on to become one of the broadcaster's most popular shows. Back in 2020, it won a Bafta in the Best Comedy Entertainment Programme, beating competition from The Graham Norton Show, The Last Leg and The Ranganation, and was nominated in the same category once again earlier this year. Taskmaster has also spawned several international remakes in territories like Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Canada, with varying levels of success, while a live experience inspired by the show launched in London last year, before closing in February.
