Mansukh Mandaviya, on his birthday, led the 25th edition of the nationwide initiative 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' in Delhi, which has been dedicated to the brave soldiers involved in Operation Sindoor. 'Today's edition is a tribute to our bravehearts who were part of Operation Sindoor. It is heartening to see citizens across the country pedal together for fitness and for our nation's heroes,' he said
The Minister led 'The Fit Sunday' movement, which also rolled out with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across over 5,000 locations. "Over the past 24 Sundays, regular cycling has been conducted as part of a continued effort to promote the Fit India Movement. While not every ride is about endurance cycling, the Sunday on Cycle initiative has grown into a national movement..., " he added.
Mandaviya was also greeted by his cabinet colleague and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Minister Mandaviya was born on this day in 1972 in Gujarat's Bhavnagar. In 2002, at the age of 28, he was elected to serve as the youngest MLA in Gujarat.
He first became the Union Minister in 2016. He was inducted as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Minister of State in the Ministry of Shipping, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.
He was inducted into Modi's cabinet as MoS (independent charge) of the Ministry of Shipping, and MoS in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers in 2019.
In 2021, Mandaviya was promoted to the cabinet rank and appointed the Minister of Health and Family Welfare during the cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Modi in July 2021.
He was again inducted into the Modi 3.0 cabinet in 2024 and was appointed as a Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports.

Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar NEW DELHI: Jagdeep Dhankhar's sudden resignation as Vice President citing health reasons with two years remaining in his five-year term, has sparked intense speculation and conspiracy theories. Dhankhar is only the third Vice President to resign before completing his term, after V.V. Giri and R. Venkataraman. His unexpected exit on the first day of Parliament's Monsoon Session has left political observers searching for deeper explanations beyond "health reasons". What happened in 3 hours? The timeline of events on Dhankhar's final day in office has become a subject of particular scrutiny. The opposition's skepticism was further fueled by the fact that Dhankhar had shown no signs of health concerns during his morning interactions with senior leaders. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh highlighted sequence of events, suggesting that "something very serious" must have transpired between 1pm to 4:30pm. "Yesterday, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar chaired the Business Advisory Committee of the Rajya Sabha at 12:30 PM. It was attended by most members, including Leader of the House JP Nadda and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju . After some discussion, the BAC decided to meet again at 4:30 PM," he said. "At 4:30 PM, the BAC reassembled under the chairmanship of Shri Jagdeep Dhankar. The Justice Varma link Adding another layer to the intrigue was Dhankhar's final official act – allowing the submission of a motion for the removal of Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad high court. This unprecedented move gave him equal authority as the Lok Sabha Speaker in selecting members for the judicial inquiry panel. The timing was particularly noteworthy as it came just a day after the government had announced that the Lok Sabha would initiate proceedings against the HC judge. Dhankhar has been very vocal about his criticism over judiciary. The 'Nitish theory' Adding fuel to the speculative fire, Bihar's RJD alleged that Dhankhar's resignation was part of a BJP ploy to edge out Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. RJD's Akhtarul Islam Shahin claimed it was a conspiracy to "shunt Nitish Kumar to the politically insignificant post of Vice President" ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. While this theory has been brushed aside by NDA leaders in Bihar, Dhankhar's exit is being interpreted not just in Delhi but also in poll-bound Bihar as a potentially strategic political recalibration. What BJP said The BJP has moved to counter opposition narratives about the resignation. JP Nadda addressed the controversy surrounding the missed BAC meeting, stating that both he and Rijiju had properly informed the Vice President's office about their inability to attend the afternoon session. "The Vice President's office was intimated about our inability to attend the meeting," said Nadda, the Union health minister and BJP president, when asked about Ramesh's claims. What next? While the Constitution mandates that a Presidential vacancy must be filled within six months, there is no specific timeframe for filling a Vice-Presidential vacancy. The only constitutional requirement is that the election should be conducted "as soon as practicable" after the position becomes vacant. The Election Commission will determine and announce the election schedule, which will be conducted according to the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952. Following established practice, the Secretary General of either the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha is appointed as the Returning Officer on a rotational basis.

States, UTs free to decide modalities of implementing three-language policy, says Union Minister of State
Since education is a subject under the Concurrent List of the Constitution, it is up to the respective State and Union Territory governments to decide on the modalities of implementing the three-language policy, in accordance with the spirit and recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, Union Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary said in the Lok Sabha on Monday (July 21, 2025). The policy emphasised the promotion of multilingualism and encourages States/UTs to adopt the three-language formula in a flexible manner, taking local needs, linguistic diversity, and implementation feasibility into consideration, the Minister said. In his reply to a query by Virudhunagar MP B. Manickam Tagore and Namakkal MP V.S. Matheswaran, Mr. Chaudhary cited a provision in the NEP 2020, which stated that the three-language formula would continue to be implemented, keeping in mind the Constitutional provisions, but that 'there will be a greater flexibility in the three-language formula, and no language will be imposed on any State.' The Minister further said the Government of India regularly consulted experts, linguists, State and national-level policy makers, curriculum developers and implementers, practising teachers and students, parents, teachers, teacher educators, parents, NGOs (and also students) working in the field of policy formulations and curriculum development. 'Prior to the formulation of the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, a large number of stakeholders were consulted in person and also through digital means. All the regions/States were consulted and the opinions and practices of the various school systems were also taken into consideration for the making of the policy,' he said. As a follow-up of NEP 2020, the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), 2023, has been developed, and it provides a roadmap for the implementation of NEP 2020 on Languages Education in India, he said. 'The NCF aims to make a student an independent speaker, reader, and writer in at least three languages denoted as R1, R2 and R3.' While R1 was the first language in which students learn literacy, ideally their mother tongue or, if not feasible, the State language, which would be a familiar language, with proficiency expected by age 8, R2 was the second language distinct from R1, with proficiency to be achieved by age 11. R3 was the third language different from R1 and R2, with proficiency targeted by age 14, the Minister said.
