Ipoh aged care home aims to raise RM250,000 through fair

The Home for the Aged (CWS) Simee Care Centre. THE Home for the Aged (CWS) Simee Care Centre in Ipoh, Perak, aims to raise about RM250,000. Home chairman Vincent Lee said the facility needed donations to cover operating expenses and renovations. 'We plan to use part of the funds to renovate toilets in the male and female dormitories,' he said when contacted. 'Some residents slipped and fell in the toilets because of slippery tiles,' he said, adding that the facility housed 38 residents aged between 63 and 98. 'The dining area also requires some refurbishing,' Lee said, noting that the dining area building was constructed in 1998. 'We offer a nurturing environment open to all deserving individuals regardless of race and religion,' he said. Lee said a Family Day Food Fair would be held in SJK (C) Chung Tack hall, Simee, to raise funds. The event will take place on Sept 14 from 8.30am to 1pm. 'We aim to raise money through the sale of food tokens and cash donations. 'There will be 150,000 token pieces available, sold in booklets with each containing 100 pieces. 'The event will feature a variety of food, live entertainment and opportunities to support a worthy cause,' said Lee. 'Donors who contribute RM10,000 will have their photograph displayed on a dedicated Donor Recognition Wall in our community hall. 'Those who donate RM100,000 will have their picture displayed on the Honorary Donor Board at the reception area,' he added. For details, call 05-547 3252 or email kgsimeehome@
