Ipoh aged care home aims to raise RM250,000 through fair

THE Home for the Aged (CWS) Simee Care Centre in Ipoh, Perak, aims to raise about RM250,000.
Home chairman Vincent Lee said the facility needed donations to cover operating expenses and renovations.
'We plan to use part of the funds to renovate toilets in the male and female dormitories,' he said when contacted.
'Some residents slipped and fell in the toilets because of slippery tiles,' he said, adding that the facility housed 38 residents aged between 63 and 98.
'The dining area also requires some refurbishing,' Lee said, noting that the dining area building was constructed in 1998.
'We offer a nurturing environment open to all deserving individuals regardless of race and religion,' he said.
Lee said a Family Day Food Fair would be held in SJK (C) Chung Tack hall, Simee, to raise funds.
The event will take place on Sept 14 from 8.30am to 1pm.
'We aim to raise money through the sale of food tokens and cash donations.
'There will be 150,000 token pieces available, sold in booklets with each containing 100 pieces.
'The event will feature a variety of food, live entertainment and opportunities to support a worthy cause,' said Lee.
'Donors who contribute RM10,000 will have their photograph displayed on a dedicated Donor Recognition Wall in our community hall.
'Those who donate RM100,000 will have their picture displayed on the Honorary Donor Board at the reception area,' he added.

Ngemah rep calls for unity among multi-racial communities

He emphasised that this can be achieved through collaborative programmes such as the 'ngiling bidai' initiative, which involves cooperation between the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) and relevant government agencies. 'Like sticks tied together, stronger and not easily broken – that is the symbol of unity that needs to be nurtured and instilled in the community,' said Anyi, as quoted in a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) report during the ngiling bidai ceremony. The event was jointly organised by the Bukit Sepali Madani Community and the Nanga Ngungun Zone 1 Neighbourhood Area Committee (KRT), held at Rumah Taboh Rimau in Nanga Ngungun here on Friday. Sarawak Muslims urged to continue supporting mosque-based programmes

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Law, State-Federal Relations and MA63) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali made the call when officiating the closing ceremony of the Festival Maal Hijrah 1447H/2025M at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak here today. 'I urge all Muslims, especially in Sarawak, to continue supporting mosque-organised programmes. 'Let us be part of the movement to enliven the House of Allah, making the mosque a point of reference for the community and a centre for welfare and dakwah (Islamic propagation),' she said in her speech. The closing ceremony marked the conclusion of the 10-day festival, organised by Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS), which began on June 20. The ceremony was officiated with the symbolic lowering of the official festival flag.
