Honda Super EV Concept To Debut At Goodwood Festival Of Speed
Honda is going to mark its presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a special send off to its hot hatch , the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. Along with it, the Japanese automaker will have the new hybrid Prelude and the 0 SUV. Additionally, the brand will use the opportunity to introduce an electric urban vehicle concept. Called the Super EV, the hatchback has remained under a veil with a very few details on the surface. It is speculated to be the successor of the Honda e. The new concept seems to have the personality of a Kei car with a boxy design with a curvy front bumper. Another element that stands out is a closed grille with an integrated charging port complemented by circular headlamps and vertical headlamps. All of these elements are reminiscent of the Honda N-One sold in the Japanese market. At the rear end, the car gets a short hood with bulging fenders. Honda Super EV will be relatively smaller and might step in the territory of the Hyundai Inster. Furthermore, it looks like it is ready to enter production. This is because it does not have typical concept features like oversized wheels and other fancy design elements. Instead, it gets traditional door handles instead of the flush sitting handles. The details on specifications of the car are still scarce. However, in the international market the electric vehicle will likely be launched as an affordable model with specs fitting the price range. This comes as part of the brand's plan to launch new electric vehicles. These EVs will come with new platforms, new batteries and new technology for the powertrain.

Honda 0 SUV Prototype Spotted in Tokyo, with Max Verstappen Driving
Honda sent Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda out in its upcoming prototype between runs in iconic F1 machinery. Initially unveiled at CES 2025, Honda's 0 SUV prototype is a mid-size electric ute slated to go into production at Honda's Ohio EV Hub in 2026. As part of a series of , the 0 SUV will be joined by a wedge-shaped in late 2026. With the Red Bull Racing and Honda partnership coming to a close at the end of this year's Formula 1 season, the two manufacturers put on quite a show in the streets of Tokyo ahead of the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. The celebratory show run saw Red Bull's driver lineup ripping full tilt through a closed course between the office buildings of Aoyama's business district in some iconic Red Bull and Honda F1 machinery. At one point in the event, Honda gave the audience a reprieve from the screaming V-8s and hybrid V-6s by sending its electric 0-Series SUV prototype onto the street course with four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen behind the wheel. Needless to say, he left his earplugs behind. This is the first time that we've seen the Honda 0 SUV prototype in motion following its unveiling at CES 2025 in January. As part of Honda's upcoming 0 Series lineup of electric vehicles, the funky-looking 0 SUV will be the first model built using Honda's newest EV architecture. Honda hasn't released many facts or figures about the 0 SUV's range capabilities or battery tech, but we do know that it will likely offer Level 3 autonomous driving and a next-gen operating system called ASIMO OS. In addition to the windswept mid-size SUV, a wedge-shaped 0 Saloon will also be added to Honda's new electric roster at a later date. Both models will be built in Honda's EV Hub in Marysville, Ohio, with production models of the 0 SUV slated for a mid-2026 release and the 0 Saloon following at the end of the year. In online videos of the event, Verstappen and his new Honda-backed teammate Yuki Tsunoda looked like they were enjoying their leisurely drive in the purple-camo-wrapped electric prototype, laughing while sipping 12-ounce cans of Red Bull. While Max did the driving in the 0 SUV, his new teammate will be hoping to make an impression behind the wheel of his new car at his home race this weekend. F1 Champ Max Verstappen Tries Out New Honda 0 SUV Prototype
Honda has a long history of getting Formula 1 drivers that win championships with its engines to try out its upcoming products for the road. Back in the late 1980s, Ayrton Senna was heavily involved in development testing of the first generation NSX sports car. Since 2019, Red Bull Racing has been using Honda hybrid power units in its F1 cars (Red Bull's junior team, then known as Torro Rosso adopted the Honda engines a year earlier). Since 2021, Red Bull has won two constructor's championships with Honda and Max Verstappen has won four straight driver's titles. Ahead of this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, Verstappen and his new teammate Yuki Tsunoda went for a spin in the new Honda 0 SUV. The Honda 0 SUV is the first Honda-branded product that will be built on the company's new electric vehicle platform although the new Acura RSX will be the first to launch production late this year. The 0 SUV goes into production toward the middle of 2026 followed later in the year by the 0 Saloon. All three new EVs will be produced through the new Honda EV hub in Ohio. Battery cells and modules will be produced at a joint-venture plant with LG Energy Solution in Jeffersonville, Ohio, while the battery pack cases will cast at the Anna Engine plant. Battery and vehicle assembly will take place at the recently reconfigured Marysville Assembly Plant. Honda and Red Bull will be parting ways at the end of the 2025 F1 season, with Honda teaming up with Aston Martin in 2026, and Red Bull producing its own power units in partnership with Ford next year. Before that happens, Red Bull and Honda are celebrating by having Verstappen drive a prototype of the 0 SUV. Prototypes of the two Honda EVs were shown this past January at CES and the production models are said to be very close in design to those concepts. The example tried out by Verstappen is wrapped in camoflauge but the only notable exterior change from the CES model appears to be the conventional optical mirrors in place of the digital cameras on the doors. The rest of the bodywork looks unchanged including the LED headlight array on the front. It's unclear if Verstappen or any of the other Red Bull drivers are involved in the actual development testing of the 0 Series, but given the much busier 24 race F1 schedule today compared to Senna's era, it's probably minimal.
