Hockey Jharkhand crowned champions of 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 Division 'A'
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 14 (ANI): Hockey Jharkhand was crowned as the Champions of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 - Division 'A' after defeating Hockey Association of Odisha 1-0 in the final at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Hockey Haryana secured the bronze medal after defeating Hockey Mizoram 3-3 (shoot out 5-4) in the 3rd/4th position match. In the final match, Hockey Jharkhand won 1-0 against the Hockey Association of Odisha. Both teams played distinctly and prevented each other from scoring with strong defence skills, but it was Jirn Soy Munda (27') who paved the way for Hockey Jharkhand to lift the trophy after netting the only goal of the match on their home soil. In the 3rd/4th Place match between Hockey Haryana and Hockey Mizoram, Hockey Haryana secured the third place and won the Bronze medal after defeating Hockey Mizoram 3-3 (SO 5-4) in a nail-biting thriller. K Vanlalpeki (9') opened the goal count on the scoreboard for Hockey Mizoram, but captain Bhavya (19'), Durga (27') and Manjinder (30') soon took the lead for Hockey Haryana to push Hockey Mizoram on the backfoot throughout most of the game. Hockey Mizoram tried hard but couldn't convert the opportunities against the strong defence of Hockey Haryana until the very last minute, where Laldinpuli's (60', 60') heroics helped Hockey Mizoram end the match with a draw as the final whistle was blown, as she scored two back-to-back goals. In the shoot-out, again, it was a neck-to-neck competition between both teams. Captain Bhavya, Manjinder, Neeshu, Radhika and Harshita scored for Hockey Haryana in all five chances that they got. On the other hand, Laldinpuli, K Vanlalpeki, C Lalruatsiami and Lalnunfeli could only score out of their five chances and fell short in a closely contested game. Hockey Haryana's Goalkeeper Saina's match-winning save in the shootout stood out as a difference maker and helped her side end their campaign on the podium. (ANI)

Odisha, Jharkhand storm into Division A final at Sub Junior Women National Championship
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 12 (ANI): As the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 - Division 'A' reaches its final stage, Hockey Association of Odisha and Hockey Jharkhand won their respective semi-final matches on Saturday at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand, to storm into the final. In the first semi-final match, Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Hockey Haryana 1-0. Sudipa Baa (45') proved to be a difference maker in the game as she surpassed the strong defence of Hockey Haryana and netted the only goal for Hockey Association of Odisha to confirm their berth in the Final. In the second semi-final match, Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Mizoram 1-0. Jirn Soy Munda (26) shone bright after scoring the deciding goal of the match and paving the way for Hockey Jharkhand in the final to compete against Hockey Association of Odisha for the title. Earlier in the tournament, the Hockey Association of Odisha delivered a dominant display, brushing aside the Hockey Association of Bihar with a 5-0 victory. Ashika Samad (10') opened the scoring through a penalty corner, followed by field goals from Priyanka Minz (14') and Eleena Burh (26') in the first half. The onslaught continued in the second half as Gita Lakra (33') converted another penalty corner, and Sweety Kujur (37') added a field goal to seal an emphatic win. On the other hand, Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Madhya Pradesh played out a gripping 1-1 draw in regulation time. Nousheen Naz (33') put Madhya Pradesh in front, but Jharkhand's Sugan Sanga (44') responded by converting a penalty corner to level the scores. The deadlock persisted, sending the match into a tense shootout. In the shootout, Jharkhand edged past Madhya Pradesh 5-4, with successful conversions from Ankita Lakra, Shruti Kumari, Sugan Sanga, Pushpa Manjhi, and Sewani Kerketta. Day-8 Results: 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 10 (ANI): As it is time to reach the Quarter-final stage of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025, it was Hockey Mizoram and Hockey Association of Bihar who finished their campaigns with a win in their respective matches in Division 'A'. In the first match, Hockey Mizoram won 4-0 against Delhi in Division 'A'. Captain Vanlalrinhlui (13', 34') led from the front and stood out to be the top goal scorer after scoring a brace for her side, Hockey Mizoram. Lalremruati Esther (17') and Laldinpuii (51') also contributed with one goal each to take the game away from Delhi. With this win, Hockey Mizoram stands tall at the top of Pool 'D' with six points in the bank, as per a Hockey India press release. In the other match, Hockey Association of Bihar defeated Delhi 6-0 in Division 'A'. Pushpanjali Kumari (2', 35', 58') scored a hat-trick for the Hockey Association of Bihar. Captain Sidhi Kumari (31', 60') also scored a brace, whereas Vinayak Siddhi (57') also netted the ball once in the match to affirm their strong position. Hockey Association of Bihar now holds the second spot in Pool D. This year's edition is featuring 28 teams divided into three divisions--Division A, Division B, and Division C--introducing an added competitive edge with promotion and relegation at stake, as per a press release from Hockey India. Division A, comprising the top 12 performing teams in the country, will see intense action as the defending champions Hockey Jharkhand and last year's runner-up Hockey Madhya Pradesh lead the challenge for the national title. ANI 09 Jul 2025, 23:37 GMT+10 Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 9 (ANI): On day-seven of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025, it was Uttar Pradesh Hockey who had a fruitful outing after winning their match against Hockey Chandigarh whereas Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Punjab played out a draw to add a point each to their tally. In the first match today, Hockey Maharashtra played a 1-1 draw with Hockey Punjab, in Division 'A'. Anvi Rawat (35') scored for Hockey Maharashtra, whereas Saloni (37') played an equaliser for Hockey Punjab to end the game in a draw, as per a press release from Hockey India. In the next match, Uttar Pradesh defeated Hockey Chandigarh 4-0, in Division 'A'. Naina (34', 48', 59') stood out as be top goal scorer as she scored a hat-trick in the game. Arika Kumari (45') also scored one goal to take the game away from Hockey Chandigarh. Also, the other match between the Hockey Association of Bihar and Delhi Hockey was officially forfeited 5-0 in favour of the Hockey Association of Bihar.
