Derry are still waiting for their first competitive victory under Tally but are in the hunt for knockout football ahead of Saturday week's group finale against Dublin — and McKaigue hopes their latest effort makes Devlin eat his words.
He said: 'Gavin made that comment but if you were at the game, you would say that hopefully this is a turning point for that group.
'It was a really strong performance in terms of their attitude, their application, their intensity.
'From a Derry supporter's point of view, and knowing the lads, it was a performance to warm the heart.
