Woman wanted for drug-related charges turns herself into CKPS
Chatham-Kent police say a 22-year-old woman has turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest for missing a court appearance for drug-related charges. On July 30, 2024, during a traffic stop in Chatham, officers say the driver provided false identification. The driver, a 22-year-old woman from Hamilton, was arrested for obstructing police and possession of forged documents. Upon investigation, police say a large quantity of cash and a scale were located inside of the vehicle. On Aug. 7, 2024, members of the Intelligence Unit conducted a systematic search of the vehicle which resulted in the discovery and seizure of the following items: 129.73 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $12,973 1,986.74 grams of methamphetamine (with an approximate street value of $119,204.40 221.99 grams of fentanyl with an approximate street value of $55,497.50 $1,870 in Canadian currency Two digital scales A prohibited weapon A gold watch As a result, reasonable grounds existed to charge the accused with the following offences: Count 1: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking Count 3: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking Count 4: Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or restricted She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 06, 2024, which she failed to attend, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 21, she turned herself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters in relation to her outstanding warrant. She is currently being held for bail.

22-year-old arrested with nearly 3 kilograms of cocaine in drug trafficking bust
A drug bust in west Edmonton led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man on July 16, 2025. (Source: Alberta RCMP Community Response Team) An Edmonton man is facing multiple charges after a one-week drug trafficking investigation found almost three kilograms of cocaine, eight grams of methamphetamine and over 200 oxycodone tablets in his possession. On July 16, the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team searched a residence in west Edmonton, a storage locker in Sherwood Park and a car, also in Edmonton. It was there that they seized the drugs as well as $65,810 and 'numerous' cell phones. In a release Tuesday, RCMP said the 22-year-old was arrested on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and breaching a release order. The man was on a release order from a previous charge that involved possession for the purpose of trafficking in February. He was held for a bail hearing and brought into custody. He's set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park Wednesday.

Woman, 25, dies after collision with Halawa red-light runner
A 25-year-old woman died following a head-on collision late this morning in the Halawa area, Honolulu police said. The crash occurred at about 10 :57 a.m. at the intersection of Kahuapaani Street and Mananai Place and marks the 41st traffic fatality on Oahu this year. At the same time last year, there had been 16. According to the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division's Vehicular Homicide Section, a 40-year-old man was driving north on Kahuapaani Street with a 34-year-old male passenger when he ran a red light and attempted a left turn onto Mananai Place. During the turn, the vehicle was broadsided by a car heading south on Kahuapaani Street, driven by a 22-year-old woman. A 25-year-old woman was a passenger in her car. The 25-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she later died. The 22-year-old driver was hospitalized in good condition. The 40-year-old male driver of the turning vehicle was also taken to an area hospital in good condition, while his passenger refused treatment at the scene. Police said speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The investigation is ongoing. Police say the driver was travelling at a speed of 150 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 km/hr zone. 3 dead after 2 fatal collisions in southeastern Manitoba
Three people are dead after two car crashes in southeastern Manitoba between Friday and Monday. Early Monday morning, a 22-year-old Steinbach man died after a head-on collision in the rural municipality of Hanover. At about 12:00 a.m. on Monday, police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 12, about one kilometre south of Highway 303, Steinbach RCMP said in a Monday news release. When police arrived, they found one vehicle blocking both lanes of Highway 12. The driver inside, a 22-year-old man from Steinbach, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police said the other vehicle was on its side in the ditch. That driver, a 20-year-old man from the rural municipality of De Salaberry, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable. According to the release, Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate the crash with help from the RCMP's criminal collision investigation team. Crash kills woman, 39, and girl, 11 A woman and a young girl are dead after their minivan collided with a truck and swerved into a creek on Friday in the community of St. Labre, located about 100 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg. On Friday around 12:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on St. Labre Road, Sprague RCMP said in a news release on Monday. Police said paramedics and firefighters were already on scene when they arrived at the scene. A damaged truck was on the southbound lane, while a minivan was on its side in a creek near the road. Police said the minivan's driver, a 39-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old girl, who was one of the van's passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old girl, who was also in the van, was taken to hospital with minor injuries The 72-year-old man who was driving the truck was assessed by paramedics, but didn't need to go to hospital, police said. Police said the initial investigation found that the minivan was approaching from the north, and veered into the southbound lane as the driver took a curve in the road and crashed into the truck.
