Sophie Turner spills the tea on how 'Game of Thrones' became her unlikely sex education class
Sophie Turner on the unconventional lessons she learned from 'Game of Thrones'. Just like many of us Google whether "2 Broke Girls" stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are besties in real life (they are, by the way they've stayed close since the show ended), fans have always wanted to know what the cast of "Game of Thrones" thinks about the series that made them household names. It's pretty normal to wonder what actors really take away from the roles we binge for hours, especially when those shows push the boundaries of what we see on screen. However, few celebrity reflections have been quite as eye-opening (and relatable) as Sophie Turner's recent reveal about how she got an unexpected form of sex education from filming HBO's "Game of Thrones". In a candid chat on the UK 'Dish' podcast with hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Turner, 29, opened up about how growing up on set shaped her in ways most of us probably wouldn't imagine. 'I did love making it … It was the best acting class I've ever had,' she shared. Without a formal drama school, she says she learned everything from the talented cast around her, from acting techniques to industry etiquette. ' And a bit from my parents,' she added, laughing. But it's what Turner said next that really turned heads: 'I definitely got my sex education from that show. More than enough.' It's the kind of confession that makes you laugh, but also think about how much we pick up from TV sometimes, more than we do in an actual classroom. Hearing a celebrity openly admit they learned about intimacy and relationships from a TV series feels oddly relatable in our streaming-obsessed age. According to a 2021 survey by the American Sexual Health Association, many young people cite TV, movies, and online content as their first exposure to topics like consent, pleasure, and body image, often before formal sex ed classes even start. Dr Emily Morse, sex educator and host of the "Sex With Emily" podcast, has often noted that while pop culture isn't always accurate, it sparks curiosity and conversation. 'Shows can open doors to important topics,' she says, 'but it's crucial to balance entertainment with evidence-based education.' In Turner's case, it's impossible to ignore how "Game of Thrones" portrayed sex: sometimes raw, often controversial, and occasionally criticised for normalising violence or lacking diversity. Yet for Turner, who joined the cast at just 14, those scripts became part of her coming-of-age story.

Artist who doodled all over his mansion speaks out in Channel 4 doc
Artist Sam Cox created the alter ego Mr Doodle, but slowly the lines became blurred and everyone feared for his mental health. As a child, artist Sam Cox would draw from the moment he woke up to the moment he went to sleep. Through school and university, he wasn't interested in anything but drawing. His time was increasingly spent doodling, and even on a night out, he'd sit in a corner drawing on his phone. But over time, he found himself caught in a nightmare of his own making - trapped in Doodle Land, leading to a psychotic break and being sectioned. An intimate documentary, on Channel 4 tonight (July 9th) at 10pm, explores how Sam gradually morphed into Mr Doodle - an alter ego who ended up buying a mansion and painting it white, simply so that he could draw all over it. His mum Andrea says: 'I remember my auntie saying to me, 'It's ok, it's just that he's a genius and sometimes geniuses go mad'. He was lost somewhere in some land that he no longer had control over.' When Sam left university, he was given a year to see if he could make his art pay. He created Mr Doodle to draw attention to his work, dressing up as the persona and trying to sell drawings in the street for £1. Sam came to the notice of an international art dealer after a video of him doodling went viral - the money came in and he even met a woman. But it started to become unclear where Mr Doodle ended and Sam began. And then he bought the house... Sam says: 'Whenever I try to talk about what happened to me, my heart starts racing.' The Trouble With Mr Doodle is airing on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm There's plenty more on TV tonight - here's the best of the rest... SHIFTING GEARS, DISNEY+ Tim Allen (famously the voice of Buzz Lightyear and star of Home Improvement) leads the cast in this family comedy revolving around a car restoration shop. He plays Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of the classic car workshop, whose life is upturned by the arrival of his estranged daughter and grandchildren. Riley (played by 2 Broke Girls actress Kat Dennings) drives up with her two kids in tow and asks for a place to stay in the wake of her divorce. It all sets up for a classic odd couple format, with the father and daughter also having a couple of decades of emotional baggage to deal with. The jokes are a bit clunky and it's hardly subtle. 'When I build stuff, it's built to last,' says Matt. 'Except our relationship!' Riley replies. But it's endearing and there's comedy from the kids, including tween Carter who wants to improve Matt's Instagram presence and Georgia, who wants to become a billionaire. POISONED: KILLER IN THE POST, CHANNEL 4, 9pm This heartbreaking documentary speaks to bereaved parents about the deaths of multiple young people who took a deadly poison being sold online. When a young man, Tom Parfett, died aged 22 in 2001 after ingesting the poison, Times journalist James Beal investigated and realised he was not the only victim. In fact, the poison was sent to hundreds of young people across the world, from the US to Canada, Germany and Australia. This film follows what happened as James went undercover, discovering a dark world of online suicide forums. The seller has since been arrested and accused of sending over 1,200 poison packages to young people and is linked to 97 deaths in the UK. Tom's dad David says: 'Tom had a lot to look forward to. He was just a wonderful man. There's not an hour when I don't think about him. When I found out about this poison I was just so angry. The lives that have been lost, it's just astonishing.' BALLARD, PRIME VIDEO This Bosch spin-off sees Detective Renee Ballard (Maggie Q) plunge into a web of murder and corruption as she hunts a ruthless serial killer and uncovers a sinister police conspiracy. She heads up the LAPD's newly formed but underfunded cold case division, after being forced to step away from the homicide team. But with her own demons nipping at her heels, Ballard must outwit both criminals and colleagues to bring long-overdue justice to the victims and their families. Avengers: Doomsday Fans Think Thor Actor Will Return After New Photo
A prominent cast member of the MCU's Thor movies and WandaVision shared a photo with an extremely well-known Marvel prop, leading to speculations that she might be in Avengers: Doomsday. The highly anticipated superhero feature already has well over 25 confirmed main cast members and will likely add more as production continues. Actress Kat Dennings, who plays Darcy Lewis in the MCU, shared a photo of herself with Captain America's shield on social media. 'Don't get excited, I was just sampling the hardware,' the 2 Broke Girls actress wrote in the caption. Notably, Dennings has portrayed Darcy in Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), WandaVision (2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). She has also voiced the character in What If…? Although Dennings' post advised fans not to get excited, they have already started speculating about whether her character would appear in Avengers: Doomsday. In the comment section of the post, one asked whether this photo was taken on the Doomsday set. Another wrote, 'Captain Lewis! Darcy best come back soon enough!' Dennings indicated in the caption of her post that she was not part of the Doomsday cast. However, Marvel has historically kept significant details about the cast and plot of its projects secret, sometimes until their release. The Doomsday cast is still incomplete, so Dennings and others could be announced later. Avengers: Doomsday premieres in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026. Chris Hemsworth, Dennings' co-star from the Thor movies, is reprising his role as the MCU Norse God of Thunder in the feature. Accordingly, there could even be a subplot in Doomsday around Darcy and Thor. The Russo brothers are directing Doomsday. Some of the other cast members are Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier. Eric Andre opens up about being ‘intimidated' by Madonna after bizarre onstage interaction
Comedian Eric Andre has claimed he was 'intimidated' after Madonna sent him a DM following a bizarre onstage interaction between the pair. In March 2024, Andre made a guest appearance at the pop superstar's concert at the Kia Forum Stadium in Los Angeles as part of her Celebration Tour. The 42-year-old, best known for his offbeat parody talk show The Eric Andre Show, took part in the 'Vogue' section of the show where he had to score various dancers out of 10. After being inspired to get involved with the dancing himself, Andre chose to drop his trousers and expose his bare backside to the shocked audience which Madonna found hilarious. Speaking about the incident on Jimmy Kimmel Live (7 April), Andre claimed that 'Madonna has a bit of a crush on me' and that she 'slid into my DMs'. Kimmel asked him to share what the popstar had sent him but Andre remained coy: 'I don't want to put her on front street but there was a little bit of chemistry between was some flirtation.' When asked if he acted on this potential relationship Andre admitted: 'I'm way too intimidated by Madonna. That's the queen of pop. You can't just waltz in there and start 'schtooping' Madonna. You've gotta come in there with roses, you've gotta play Boyz II Men and you've gotta drip chocolate needs to be romanced. She slept with 2Pac and Basquiat – you've gotta bring your A-game.' Kimmel asked if he was interested to which he said he was and added: 'My sister called me and she was like: 'You need to get with Madonna and I'm not taking no for an answer' and she hung up on me. That's a true story but I'm too shy.' It comes after Andre expressed his regret over turning down Kieran Culkin's Oscar-winning role in Jesse Eisenberg's A Real Pain. Culkin, 42, who played Eisenberg's outspoken on-screen cousin, Benji Kaplan, in the dark comedy-drama, won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor at the March ceremony. However, according to André, it could've been him. 'Two years ago, Jesse Eisenberg called me … offered me the [ A Real Pain ] role that Kieran Culkin got the Oscar for,' the 2 Broke Girls alum, 42, recalled on Andrew Santino's Whiskey Ginger podcast. He said he declined the role after reading the script because the movie seemed 'miserable and not in my lane.' 'I was like, 'To go to Poland for six weeks and shoot a movie where we're just babbling about the Holocaust, seems like a bummer,'' André explained.
