Drake angers fans after cancelling Manchester gig last minute

Drake has left fans in Manchester fuming after cancelling his show at the city's Co-Op Live. The Hotline Bling hitmaker, 38, was set to play his third show at the venue tomorrow as part of his $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour. However, the Canadian rapper will no longer perform the gig due to 'unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics' per a statement shared by the venue. The message, shared on the Co-Op Live website, reads: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedules and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28 has been rescheduled,' reports the Manchester Evening News. 'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date – we can't wait to see you there!' Per the Ticketmaster website, those who cannot make the rescheduled date will be able to get their ticket refunded in full, which can be requested via their Ticketmaster account. Following his Manchester dates, the One Dance hitmaker will head over to Amsterdam for a string of shows at the Ziggo Dome. Fans have been quick to air their frustration over the cancellation online, with X user JoshDL796 asking if the whole thing was 'a joke.' CharlieeB_x asked: 'How is Drake using 'logistics' as an excuse to reschedule tomorrow nights show in Manchester when he's already here?' Josh Lax said they would 'never listen to him again' while Georgina Kritik dubbed the artist 'lame' for using travel issues as an excuse. 'Extended my unpaid leave in Dubai to stay in Manchester so I could see Drake on 28th July just for him to cancel last minute and say he's got travel problems my brother you are in the city wtfym!' Hassan said. The tour kicked off in Birmingham following Drake's performance at Wireless Festival. It comes as the musician's feud with Kendrick Lamar rumbles on, announcing legal action against the latter earlier this year. It has been reported that Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, is suing UMG for spreading the a 'false and malicious narrative'. More Trending It stems from Kendrick's hit song Not Like Us which contains lyrics that read: 'Say, Drake, I hear you like 'em young,' and 'Just make sure you hide your lil' sister from him.' The artwork released with the single is an aerial shot of Drake's mansion with sex offender targets overlaid. TMZ reported that the suit claims the song's lyrics are filled with 'inflammatory and shocking allegations' and claims that UMG had an ulterior motive when it came to promoting Kendrick's tune. Drake's announcement that he was set to perform at Wireless was his first major news since Kendrick's Super Bowl half-time performance, in which he played Not Like Us live. Got a story? Drake announces new solo album during Kick livestream with Adin Ross while promoting $ome $exy $ongs 4 U

Drake has confirmed he is working on a new solo album during a livestreamed gambling session with popular content creator Adin Ross. The announcement came during their 'Stake vs Drake & Adin' broadcast on Kick, where the rapper casually dropped the news while placing bets. 'Working on a new album right now… it slaps,' Drake said, later clarifying that it's a solo project. Fans in the chat reacted enthusiastically, flooding the stream with fire emojis. DJ Akademiks also joined the stream to assist in betting decisions. The project will be Drake's ninth solo studio album and follows his recent collaboration with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, which features tracks like 'Nokia,' 'Gimme A Hug,' and 'Somebody Loves Me.' Though initially scheduled to tour Australia in February for the "Anita Wynn Max" tour, Drake has postponed those dates to late 2025 due to scheduling issues. This latest livestream highlights the growing intersection between music, gaming, and digital media. Drake's increasing presence on Kick reflects how artists are using platforms like it to engage fans directly—on their own terms. His unscripted, real-time interactions create an event-like atmosphere, offering fans both access and entertainment. As streaming platforms become central to modern entertainment, 'Stake vs Drake & Adin' is more than a casual promo—it's part of a cultural shift. Livestreaming is no longer fringe; it's now a mainstream tool for artists to control their narrative and connect with audiences beyond traditional media. Drake's approach signals where the industry is headed: a blend of immediacy, personality, and participation.

Drake confirms 'NOKIA' music video release date as '$ome $exy $ongs 4 U' becomes 2025's fastest-selling album

Drake is back in the spotlight with a long-awaited announcement. The Canadian superstar has officially revealed that the music video for his hit track 'NOKIA' will premiere this Friday, March 28. The announcement was made on his Instagram Story on Sunday, March 23, sending fans into a frenzy as they gear up for the visual release. 'NOKIA' stands out as the clear fan-favorite from Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR's collaborative album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. Despite being a solo cut, fans praised its emotional depth and infectious replay value, with many saying the track 'carried the album' and deserved a visual from the moment it dropped. The announcement follows growing demands for more content from the duo's surprise hit album. And the timing couldn't be better—$ome $exy $ongs 4 U has already become the fastest-selling album of 2025, racking up over 500,000 album-equivalent units and on its way to a Gold certification by the RIAA. Even amid soft, melancholic vibes, fans have found comfort and consistency in the album. Streaming platforms reflect that, with Drake's track 'Fake Love' recently crossing the 1 billion streams milestone on Spotify—making him the rapper with the most songs over the billion mark, now totaling 23 tracks. The buzz around 'NOKIA' also comes as fans reflect on the one-year anniversary of the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef, a saga still fueling conversations online. While Kendrick's diss 'Not Like Us' made waves, it also sparked Drake's defamation lawsuit against UMG. Though the battle may simmer down legally, the rivalry remains a hot topic for fans. Still, Drake appears focused on the music. As one fan posted, 'All I care about now is the 'NOKIA' video—just give us that masterpiece.' And with its release just days away, the hype around the visual suggests Drake's not slowing down anytime soon.

Drake teases new solo music while Playboi Carti's album I AM MUSIC raises questions about Drake's involvement

Drake has teased fans with exciting news about his upcoming music, confirming that he has been "locked in" and working on solo material. In a message to DJ Akademiks, Drake shared that he is fully immersed in the creative process, stating, 'I'm in the zone, it's just me.' He made it clear that his upcoming music will be entirely solo, unlike his previous collaborative projects like $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U and Her Loss, signaling that fans can expect a focused, Drake-only experience. While Drake's solo work is generating excitement, DJ Akademiks also shared updates on Playboi Carti's highly anticipated album I AM MUSIC. According to Akademiks, Drake recorded a guest verse for Carti's album, but he expressed doubts that it would make the final cut. This uncertainty stems from Akademiks' claim that Kendrick Lamar is allegedly the creative director of I AM MUSIC, which could lead to the exclusion of Drake's involvement. However, Carti's producer, F1LTHY, quickly denied the rumor, stating that I AM MUSIC is fully Carti's vision and that Lamar is not in charge of its direction. Despite the conflicting details, both artists' projects are highly anticipated. Drake's confirmation of his upcoming solo album has stirred excitement among fans, especially since his last major release was $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U in February 2024. Meanwhile, Playboi Carti's I AM MUSIC continues to generate buzz, especially with its star-studded features and the mystery surrounding one unnamed collaborator.
