Adani Ent sells 20% in AWL Agri for Rs 7,150 cr
Ahmedabad: Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) said on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to sell a 20 per cent stake in AWL Agri Business Ltd to Wilmar International's subsidiary, LencePte Ltd, for Rs275 per share, valuing the deal at Rs7,150 crore. Following this latest deal, Wilmar is set to become the majority shareholder, with a 64 per cent holding in Commodities LLP (ACL), a subsidiary of AEL, currently holds 30.42 per cent of AWL. The sale marks the next step in Adani's planned divestment of its entire 44 per cent stake in AWL and eventual exit from the FMCG joint venture. In December 2024, Adani Commodities LLP (ACL) and LencePte Ltd, a subsidiary of Wilmar International, Singapore, had entered into an agreement. They gave each other the option to buy or sell AEL/ACL's shares in AWL (Adani Wilmar Limited) later, at a price they both agree on, but not more than Rs305 per share. The two together held 88 per cent in the company (44% each). In January 2025, AEL/ACL sold 13.5 per cent of its shareholding in AWL at Rs276.51 per share, raising Rs4,855 crore. This was done so that more of the company's shares are owned by the public, as required by minimum public shareholding requirements. After this sale, ACL/AEL owned about 30.42 per cent of AWL. Of this 30.42 per cent, between 11 per cent and 20 per cent will now be sold to Lence, and the balance will be offered to strategic partners and investors brought in by Wilmar. The remaining 10.42 per cent stake currently held by Adani Commodities will be sold to pre-identified investors before the transaction with Lence is completed. After all transactions are closed, Adani Commodities will fully exit AWL, which will no longer be an associate company of Adani Enterprises. AWLs stock was trading at Rs277.7 apiece on Thursday, up by Rs15.2 or 5.7 per cent. Meanwhile, AWL Agri Business reported its highest-ever Q1 revenue at Rs17,059 crore for FY26, up 21 per cent from the same quarter last fiscal. The growth was mainly driven by its edible oil business, which grew 26 per cent year-on-year. This segment contributed Rs13,415 crore, making up 78.6 per cent of total revenue and 61 per cent of the overall volume mix.

Brady Singer dazzles, Jac Caglianone gains steam in can't-miss MLB Gators update
Brady Singer dazzles, Jac Caglianone gains steam in can't-miss MLB Gators update June rolls on, and so does the parade of former Florida Gators making headlines in the big leagues. Pete Alonso remains the main attraction in New York, Jac Caglianone continues his baptism by fire with Kansas City and Wyatt Langford is finally showing signs of life after a rough early-June skid. Harrison Bader and Jonathan India are trending in opposite directions, while Brady Singer keeps grinding every fifth day for Cincinnati. Given that the season is midway through June, divisional races are tightening and All-Star voting is in full swing. So every at-bat and outing on the mound carries more weight for these Florida alumni. Here's how the Gators fared over the last week in the MLB. Pete Alonso: First Baseman, New York Mets Last 7 Games: .259 AVG | .355 OBP | .911 OPS | 6 RBI | 2 HR | 2 BB 2025 Season: .293 AVG | .390 OBP | .960 OPS | 63 RBI | 17 HR | 35 BB Alonso cooled slightly after his NL Player of the Week tear, but two more homers and six RBI kept him squarely in the baseball spotlight. Beyond the long ball, the Polar Bear's hard-hit rate remains elite, and the Mets slugger shows no sign of slowing down as New York continues to sit on top of the NL East. Wyatt Langford: Outfielder, Texas Rangers Last 7 Games: .290 AVG | .371 OBP | .855 OPS | 4 RBI | 2 HR | 0 SB | 3 BB 2025 Season: .236 AVG | .317 OBP | .755 OPS | 30 RBI | 13 HR | 11 SB | 27 BB Langford snapped out of his funk with nine hits and a pair of long balls, raising his OPS almost 25 points. Texas is hopeful the sophomore slugger's improved plate discipline sparks a sustained summer surge. The Rangers also believe that Langford's mix of strength and speed will play even louder as temperatures soar and the ball carries during these summer months. Jac Caglianone: First Baseman/Outfielder, Kansas City Royals Last 7 Games: .308 AVG | .333 OBP | .679 OPS | 1 RBI | 0 HR | 1 BB 2025 Season: .213 AVG | .229 OBP | .484 OPS | 2 RBI | 0 HR | 1 BB Caglianone's bat came alive with an 8-for-26 week. Royals manager Matt Quatraro noted the 22-year-old's swing decisions are already improving. Scouts still expect 30-homer pop once he learns which pitches to elevate, and the Royals are content letting those lessons unfold in real time. Harrison Bader: Outfielder, Minnesota Twins Last 7 Games: .267 AVG | .313 OBP | .646 OPS | 0 RBI | 1 SB | 1 BB 2025 Season: .256 AVG | .343 OBP | .756 OPS | 24 RBI | 6 HR | 7 SB | 18 BB Bader chipped in three singles and a stolen base, but otherwise stayed quiet at the plate. Even so, his defensive play in center field has been excellent. Minnesota values that glove in the outfield so much but Bader needs to find that consistency at the plate. A few more line drives–and fewer sky-high pop-ups–could turn those modest on-base numbers into multi-category production soon. Jonathan India: Infielder, Kansas City Royals Last 7 Games: .280 AVG | .333 OBP | .813 OPS | 3 RBI | 1 HR | 2 BB 2025 Season: .248 AVG | .331 OBP | .666 OPS | 18 RBI | 3 HR | 28 BB India's steady contact skills paid off again, posting a .280 average and a clutch three-run week. The 2021 NL Rookie of the Year sprayed hits to all fields, including a home run. With the Kansas City Royals trying to climb a tough AL Central division and turn their season around, India's veteran presence and grinder mentality loom larger than ever in a youthful clubhouse. Brady Singer: Starting Pitcher, Cincinnati Reds Last Outing (at DET): 1-0 | 6.0 IP | 4 H | 3 BB | 4 SO | 1 ER 2025 Season: 7-4 | 4.34 ERA | 74.2 IP | 60 SO | 1.34 WHIP Singer banked six study frames in Detroit, keeping the Tigers off balance. Despite giving up three walks, the right-hander tacked just one earned run and was able to log four strikeouts. With 74.2 innings of work this season, the former first-rounder is emerging as the Reds' most reliable innings-eater behind Nick Lodolo. Crude palm oil prices stabilise as supply concerns ease, stocks rise
THE local CPO price delivery ended the month at RM3,855/Mt with an average price of RM3,881/Mt on higher ending stocks as concerns over limited supply risks dissipated. 'Moving ahead, we anticipate that the crude palim oil (CPO) prices will remain stablised, hovering within the range of RM3,900–4,200/Mt,' said MIDF Research (MIDF) in the recent Monthly Sector Report. This is typically in line with seasonal production trends, as the pollination period ends in March and PO output is expected to recover, potentially leading to an increase in closing stock levels. CPO output in May-25 grew to 1.77 mil tonne or +3.9% year-on-year (yoy) versus prior year, supported by robust growth from the eastern estates, particularly in Sarawak (+6.4% yoy) and Sabah (+13.0% yoy). The fresh fruit bunch (FFB) received by mills inches to 9.05 mil tonne (+1.3% yoy) well supported by a decent average yield of 1.48 tonne /ha, inline with the onset of the seasonally fruitful months. Additionally, the average oil extraction rate (OER) in the mills improved to 19.89%, driven by betterset of crops across most estates. Favourable weather conditions have allowed quicker FFB evacuation activity, bringing the fruitlets with higher oil content. Looking ahead, with the end of the inter-monsoon and pollination periods, drier weather and a faster recovery in FFB evacuation activities expected from May onwards, this allows estate productivity to gain momentum, particularly in terms of harvesting and manuring activities. Note that, local CPO production is projected to reach 19.5 mil Mt in 2025 (+1.0% yoy), with the bulk of the recovery anticipated to materialise in the second half of 2025 (2H25), driven by improved set of crops and estate efficiencies. 'We opine sector's top-line to continue uptick in 1HCY25 in-line with higher average CPO price assumptions,' said MIDF. However, margins are likely to remain under pressure due to the persistent elevated cost of production, caused by higher locked in fertiliser costs of 2HCY24, coupled with elevated external FFB purchase expenses amid low mills utilisation rates. 'We are maintaining neutral call at this juncture, while CPO prices are expected to remain under pressure, production is likely to perform, leading to a ceteris paribus performance for CY25,' said MIDF. Therefore, MIDF foresees only a handful of players likely to benefit from elevated CPO prices. Hence, they recommend avoiding smaller players with significant exposure to external FFB purchases, as the aforementioned factors could risk their CPO production, particularly during the current biological tree rest environment. —June 11, 2025 Main image: Musim MAS
