Caitlin Clark Celebrates Fever Tournament Win With Blunt Message to Her Haters
Caitlin Clark, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, commented that her opponents were 'sick' over the Indiana Fever's Commissioner's Cup victory, an apparent jab at players who are jealous of their success. The Indiana Fever won the WNBA Commissioner's Cup, an in-season tournament, defeating the Minnesota Lynx 74-59, despite Clark being sidelined by a groin injury. Advertisement Clark, who did not play at all in the final due to her injury, made the remarks during a locker room celebration captured on teammate Aaliyah Boston's Instagram Live. 'Guys, I just know everybody in the league is sick,' Clark is heard saying to her teammates off-camera. Boston laughed then concurred, replying, 'They're p***ed.' They ARE Sick About Clark's Success Yeah, if you thought some of the players in the WNBA already targeting Caitlin Clark on a nightly basis were jealous of her success before, winning the in-season tournament is going to make them even madder. Will there be more flagrant fouls on her? Will Sophie Cunningham have to step in and lay out Clark's detractors again? Advertisement Either way, it's good to see the Fever playing with a chip on their shoulder. While this is just an in-season tournament, you can bet some teams in the league have now been put on notice. Indiana knows other teams are jealous of their success now. And they just used it to fuel them to a dominant win over the Lynx, even with their best player on the bench with an injury. A team that was last season's Western Conference regular season champs, and took the WNBA champion New York Liberty to the brink during the Finals. RELATED: Sophie Cunningham Celebrates 1 Million Followers With Dance Video After Defending Caitlin Clark She Made Some Other Blunt Comments During the Fever celebration, Clark also made some eyebrow-raising comments critical of the league's pay for the tournament they had just won. Advertisement 'You get more (money) for this than you do if you're the (WNBA Finals) champion. It makes no sense. Someone tell Cathy to help us out,' Clark said, referencing WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. Fox News reports that the average winning bonus for the league champions equates to approximately $20,000 per person, while the in-season tournament winners receive roughly $30,000 each. Will Indiana ride this wave to a surge in the standings and a potential push in the playoffs? If they keep the 'us against the world' attitude going, other players in the league are going to be even more 'sick.' Caitlin Clark's coach suggests star offered to pay fine for technical foul over yelling at WNBA officials
Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White was given a technical foul and a fine during Thursday's win against the Las Vegas Aces for yelling at WNBA referees. Now, White has suggested that Clark offered to pay the fine. The foul came when White was yelling toward officials during an Indiana possession with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Fever leading the Aces by 23, when one referee signaled for a technical foul on the coach. Clark was not playing in the game due to a persisting groin injury, but jumped up and started clapping for her coach amid the incident. After the game, White suggested that Clark will be paying the fine. "I don't know about frustrations boiling as more to just like making a point," White told reporters. "Caitlin said she got me, though. She just got a bonus." During White's first year as head coach, and Clark's second year in the WNBA, the Fever have taken on a seemingly more rebellious tone in team culture. The Fever won the WNBA's Commissioner's Cup, an in-season tournament, with their 74-59 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night, and the team celebrated in the locker room with some champagne and vodka seltzers. Fever forward Aaliyah Boston took to Instagram Live to give a behind-the-scenes look at the celebration when Clark, who did not play due to a groin injury, took a shot. "Guys, I just know everybody in the league is sick," Clark is heard saying from out of the shot. The teammates replied with laughter, with Boston adding, "They're p---ed." While celebrating, Clark also voiced an opinion on the tournament and the $500,000 prize for the winning team. "You get more (money) for this than you do if you're the (WNBA Finals) champion. It makes no sense. Someone tell [WNBA commissioner] Cathy [Engelbert] to help us out," she said in another video. Meanwhile, Fever newcomer Sophie Cunningham, who has quickly become a fan favorite after starting a fight with Connecticut Sun players in defense of Clark, said "no one likes us" after a recent game against the Dallas Wings. "I think so far this season, we've had a lot of distractions. Some injuries. Don't know who's playing. Just a lot of distractions. But I think that's really good for us," she said, via the Indy Star. "Let's go through the adversity early. Let's learn from it. Good news is we're not going to peak too early, so I mean, that's a positive. It's not an excuse. Everyone's playing a back-to-back. Everyone has this kind of rough schedule. For us, we get another opportunity tomorrow, and we've got to capitalize on it. Dallas is a team that's hungry for a win. "We've talked about this, we're circled on everybody's schedule. No one likes us, right? So, everyone in our locker room? That's the only type of people that we have that we can lean on. We've got to be better in that area. We have got to stay disciplined, we have to stay focused, we need to get consistent, and we've got to lean on each other. I think that we've kind of wavered a little bit on that. We have our own islands." Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Caitlin Clark heard aiming brutal dig at WNBA rivals on live stream after Indiana Fever cup win
WNBA star Caitlin Clark has finally fired back at her league rivals after aiming a brutal dig at them while celebrating Indiana Fever's Commissioner's Cup triumph. Despite Clark being ruled out of Tuesday night's final with a groin injury, Indiana still ran out 74-59 winners over the Minnesota Lynx to claim the trophy, with Natasha Howard putting up a game-high 16 points in the victory. And after getting their hands on silverware, Fever players headed back to the locker room for a wild party where Clark seemingly took aim at their rivals. In a clip from the live stream, which left resurfaced on X, Clark could be heard saying: 'Guys, I just know everybody in the league is sick'. One of her Fever teammates, Aaliyah Boston, laughed at the remark and responded: 'They're p***ed!'. Another player was heard saying: 'They hate us!' Since rising to prominence in the WNBA, Clark has also seemingly become a target among some of her league rivals. Clark was heard, on a live stream, claiming that 'everybody in the league is sick' of the Fever Some fans have claimed that the Fever star has been mistreated by her WNBA peers, who have continued to be rough her up in her second season. Women's basketball legend Cheryl Miller claimed in March that Clark was 'despised' by some in the WNBA community because of her race. 'I know what it's like to be hated. I know what it's like to be a black woman and hated because of my color. I can't imagine this young lady - I don't wanna use 'hate' but despised...,' Miller said on All the Smoke. Miller's comments came after Washington Mystics co-owner Sheila Johnson attributed Clark's race to her winning TIME Magazine's Athlete of the Year award. Meanwhile, Clark was left stunned after one of her Indiana Fever teammates performed a lewd sexual act on her during the celebratory live stream. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was leaning over to talk to the camera during an Instagram live recording when Fever guard Sydney Colson snuck up from behind and jokingly tried to dry hump her. 'Woah bro,' Clark said as she jumped up in shock before laughing, 'absolutely not, no thank you!' Elsewhere in the celebrations, new Indiana hero Sophie Cunningham was also seen twerking in front of the camera during the same Instagram live session.

Caitlin Clark says WNBA is 'sick' over Fever's Commissioner's Cup title
Caitlin Clark has finally snapped back at her opponents. Since making her WNBA debut last year, Clark has been the victim of hard fouls on the court and cultural wars off of it. The cries from fans saying Clark's opponents are jealous of her have been loud and clear, and they were recently amplified when players ranked her the ninth-best All-Star guard in the WNBA. Well, it appears Clark is hitting back. The Indiana Fever won the WNBA's Commissioner's Cup, an in-season tournament, with their 74-59 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night, and the team celebrated in the locker room with some champagne and vodka seltzers. It's been reported that WNBA champions win an extra $20,000, but the in-season tournament winnings come out to around $30,000 per player. Clark was the first overall pick last year after becoming the NCAA's all-time leading scorer in both men's and women's Division I basketball. Her games in both college and the pros have been among some of the most-watched of all time. Her return from a calf injury on June 14 garnered 2.2 million viewers, the third-most watched WNBA game ever on ABC. The game peaked at 2.8 million viewers, a 76% increase from last season's regular-season average on the network. The WNBA had its most-watched regular season in 24 years last season and its highest attendance in 22 years. Ahead of the WNBA season, the Fever had the 10 most in-demand games on StubHub, with most of their games being moved to larger capacity venues. Despite this, Angel Reese once said that the rise of women's basketball "is not just because of one person - it's because of me, too." A'ja Wilson also once said that Clark's race was a "huge thing" when it came to her popularity. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

WNBA Makes Historic Indiana Fever Announcement on Tuesday
WNBA Makes Historic Indiana Fever Announcement on Tuesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Despite being without their best player, the Indiana Fever surprised quite a few people on Tuesday, knocking off the Minnesota Lynx 74-59 to win the 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup. Advertisement The win seemed an improbability given the Fever entered the matchup with an 8-8 record, having lost three of their last five games, while the New York Liberty, the WNBA Finals runner-up, were 14-2 and won five of their last six games. Star forward Natasha Howard led the Fever with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while adding four assists and two steals. Sophie Cunningham chipped in 13 points off the bench, and Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald all chipped in 12 points each, and Boston posted Indiana's second double-double while adding 11 rebounds. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham (8) celebrates with teammate Sydney Colson (51) after defeating the Minnesota Lynx during the Commissioner's Cup final at Target Johnson-Imagn Images While the underdog Fever had plenty to celebrate following the win, the WNBA's official X account was celebrating their historic milestone. Advertisement '🏆 For the FIRST TIME in franchise history, the @indianafever are your 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup Champions!' the league posted on X. First awarded during the 2021 season, the Commissioner's Cup is an in-season competition starting at the beginning of the season and running through the near-midway point. Regular-season games during that time count toward the standings. Since its inception, the Commissioner's Cup has seen five different winners. The Seattle Storm won the inaugural Cup, followed by the Las Vegas Aces, the Liberty, the Lynx, and the Fever. The Aces and Liberty are the only teams to make two appearances in the Cup final. Advertisement Clark was listed as a game-time decision hours before tipoff but she ultimately did not play. It marked the third straight game she's missed with a groin injury.
