Aboul Gheit Tells UN Conference: Global Will Is United to End Israeli Occupation
Mohamed Mandour Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit addressed the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, declaring that "the international will is united to end the racist settler occupation." Speaking before the UN General Assembly in New York, Aboul Gheit opened his remarks by thanking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France for their sincere and determined efforts in convening the crucial gathering, which runs from July 28 to 30. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Jamal Rushdy, Aboul Gheit condemned what he described as "Israel's ongoing crime of genocide against civilians, women, and children in the Gaza Strip." He asserted that this atrocity stems from the 'continuing crime of occupation and settlement of Palestinian lands.' Aboul Gheit emphasized that normalization and peaceful coexistence in the region are impossible without an end to the occupation and a just peace with the Palestinians. "Israel will not succeed in integrating into the region without resolving its conflict with the Palestinian people," he said. The Secretary-General also highlighted the broad international participation in the conference as evidence of a strong, unified global stance in support of Palestinian statehood. He reaffirmed the Arab League's commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative, reiterating that—23 years after its launch—it remains the only viable path to lasting regional peace: the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, including East Jerusalem, and the full end of Israeli occupation. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

Nada Mustafa Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdelatty, met on Monday with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. The two ministers discussed the close relations between their friendly countries and emphasized the importance of building on the positive momentum witnessed in bilateral relations in political and economic spheres. This momentum was reflected in the meeting between the President of Egypt and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in November 2024, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, and the signing of the 'Strategic Partnership' document between the two nations. Both ministers expressed their aspiration to expand bilateral cooperation across various fields and explore new opportunities that serve the interests of the two countries and their peoples. The meeting also addressed the developments in the Gaza Strip and Egypt's efforts to reach a ceasefire and halt the blatant crimes and violations committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians, as well as to end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza. Moreover, the two ministers stressed the importance of exerting all possible efforts to swiftly reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that would enable the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the Strip and stop Israel's repeated violations. Abdelatty also reviewed the latest developments regarding Egypt's hosting of the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza, which aims to implement the Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of the Strip. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of continued coordination between the two friendly countries and the need to persist in mobilizing international support for the realization of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

EU, Arab League Reaffirm Commitment to Two-State Solution at Peace Conference
Ahmed Emam The European Union (EU) and the Arab League (LAS) voiced strong support for the two-state solution during an international peace conference dedicated to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Arab League Urges ICC Action Against Israeli War Crimes
By Ahmad El-Assasy The Arab League has reaffirmed its full support for international legal efforts to hold Israeli officials accountable for war crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories. The statement came during the opening of a two-day seminar hosted at the League's headquarters in Cairo under the title: "The Role of the International Criminal Court in Prosecuting Israeli Occupation Crimes in the Occupied Palestinian Territories." Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in remarks delivered on his behalf by Assistant Secretary-General Saeed Abu Ali, condemned what he described as a 'systematic genocide' being carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza. He accused the international community of silent complicity through its failure to act, stating that the atrocities 'drag humanity back to an era of barbarism.' Aboul Gheit emphasized that crimes such as ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, settlement expansion, and racial discrimination have persisted against the Palestinian people since the 1948 Nakba and are central to the Israeli occupation's long-standing policies. According to the Secretary-General, more than 250,000 Palestinians have been killed, injured, arrested, or reported missing since the Israeli military operation began on October 7, 2023. Over 80% of Gaza has been destroyed, with similar atrocities taking place in the West Bank, including executions, mass arrests, and large-scale displacement, especially in refugee camps such as Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarem. The Arab League has actively supported the legal track through participation in ICJ hearings, the formation of fact-finding committees, and the establishment of special legal and media units to document war crimes. Among its key efforts are the report '100 Days of War on Gaza' and a stream of daily legal briefings. Aboul Gheit called for Israeli war criminals to be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court, urging an end to impunity. He appealed to international human rights organizations and governments to intensify efforts and respect the decisions of international justice. He concluded by welcoming the upcoming UN-sponsored Two-State Solution Conference, hosted by France and Saudi Arabia, and praised France's position on recognizing the State of Palestine. He reaffirmed that a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only path to lasting peace in the region. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
