Abhishek Bachchan recalls ‘huge fight' with ‘adamant' Aditya Chopra during Dhoom 2: ‘He said no'
Actors and filmmakers have often spoken about creative differences with each other. In a recent interaction, Abhishek Bachchan recalled a disagreement he had with filmmaker-producer Aditya Chopra on Dhoom 2, over the song 'Dil Laga Na', which he was pushed into doing. He felt was completely out of character for his role as ACP Jai Dixit — a no-nonsense, serious cop throughout the film. During an interaction with ETimes, Abhishek admitted that he 'had a huge fight with Aditya Chopra' over the decision to make him dance in the song. He explained that in the scene, his character allows Hrithik Roshan's character, a thief, to enjoy the night because he plans to arrest him the next day. The song 'Dil Laga Na' then begins, and the entire cast breaks into dance. Abhishek felt that since his character was a 'tough-as-nails cop with a no-nonsense attitude,' it didn't make sense for him to suddenly start dancing. Abhishek shared that he would have preferred to simply sit at the bar where his character and Hrithik's character had their conversation and silently gauge Hrithik's attitude. Abhishek recalled that Aditya Chopra refused his suggestion, saying, 'Adi was adamant. We had a huge fight on it. He said no, the audience wants to see all the cast dance.' Despite their difference of opinion, Abhishek acknowledged that such creative disagreements are common between filmmakers and actors, and everything was resolved in the end — especially since the film turned out to be a massive success. 'At the end of the day, the film did really well, so you also have to accept that maybe you don't know everything.' He further admitted that since Dhoom 2 was a commercial film, audiences weren't expected to approach it with deep analysis. 'Dhoom is also not just this character-driven piece. It's a popcorn film. So, I think the justification was there. Don't use your brain too much,' he said.

India's biggest flop film, even Amitabh h Bachchan failed to save it, film earned just Rs...., lead actors were....
Sometimes when a movie is released, and if it is helmed by a known director, has a massive budget, and features a star-studded cast, it is expected to be a superhit. However, the ingredients that are said to be the right formula for success don't always work. Similarly, when director Shaad Ali decided to make Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, fans thought the same. However, things turned out to be completely different. After the successful run of Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli, director Shaad Ali decided to make another film, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films and was one of the most anticipated films. Interestingly, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom had a talented star cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol, and Lara Dutta, with Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance. The soundtrack was among the top-selling albums of 2007, yet Jhoom Barabar Jhoom underperformed at the box office and turned out to be one of the year's biggest disappointments. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom Budget and Box Office Collection According to media reports, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was made for Rs 25 crore. However, the storyline fell short for the audience, and it only earned Rs 27 crore net in India and Rs 38 crore worldwide. After Jhoom Barabar Jhoom flopped, Shaad Ali took a seven-year hiatus from filmmaking and made his directorial comeback with Kill Dil. Starring Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar, Parineeti Chopra, and Govinda, the film also failed to impress at the box office. Despite having music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics written by Gulzar, the film could not resonate with the audience. Some of the hit tracks from the film are Bol Na Halke Halke, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, and more.

'Ranbir is the apt choice for Dhoom 4, and the character is also designed keeping his aura and personality in mind. How Jr NTR's War 2 Look Defines ‘Power And Simplicity'? Stylist Explains
Last Updated: Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 pits NTR against Hrithik Roshan. With NTR's look in the upcoming film 'War 2", stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania said she wanted to keep it real but still retain the undeniable strength and masculinity the superstar carries effortlessly. Talking about how she wanted to showcase NTR's macho-ness in War 2 and Anaita said: 'Working with NTR for the first time on War 2 was a discovery and an absolute joy. He walks into a room and there's this instant shift, like a current of energy that runs through everyone. It's not loud or performative— it's magnetic." She added: 'He has that rare ability to charge the atmosphere just by being present. And then you see the smile, the warmth, and this deep, quiet confidence in the character he's playing. He knew exactly who he was from the start." The wife of filmmaker Homi Adjania said: 'With his look, I wanted to ground him—keep it real—but still retain that undeniable strength and masculinity he carries so effortlessly. There's a rawness to his presence, like a human machine operating with purpose. 'That translated into a wardrobe built on power and simplicity: leather, rugged jackets, strong silhouettes. There's no fuss, no excess," she said. 'Just a man who means business. His styling reflects that: direct, impactful, and unapologetically no-nonsense," added the stylist. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 pits NTR against Hrithik Roshan. Kiara Advani plays the female lead. War 2 is set to release on August 14 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster 'War," an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. It served as the third instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. It had Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles, with Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. It was based on the story of an Indian RAW agent on an assignment to eliminate his former mentor who has gone rogue. First Published: June 10, 2025, 10:12 IST
