MLB Network Analyst Predicts Brewers Will Acquire Rangers All-Star Outfielder

Entering Wednesday, Texas was 45-47 and 10 games out of first place in the AL West and 3 1/2 games out of an AL Wild Card spot. With the trade deadline looming and the Rangers looking like they may not be postseason contenders, right fielder/designated hitter Adolis García is believed to be a prime trade candidate by many, including MLB Network analyst Greg Amsinger. SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - JULY 05: Adolis García #53 of the Texas Rangers gestures before the game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park on July 05, 2025 in San Diego, California. SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - JULY 05: Adolis García #53 of the Texas Rangers gestures before the game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park on July 05, 2025 in San Diego, predicted landing spots for his top 10 trade candidates, and he predicted that García would be playing for the Milwaukee Brewers when August rolls around. "Adolis Garcia will get traded and he's the number one target for the Milwaukee Brewers," Amsinger said. "They need an outfielder that slugs and with Adolis hitting behind Christian Yelich, he'll make a good Brewers team even better." Amsinger's prediction comes just one day after MLB writer Jeff Passan stated that the Brewers are one bat away from being true World Series contenders. García's career .738 OPS and 132 home runs in seven seasons would certainly indicate that he's the type of power bat that Passan said Milwaukee could use in its lineup. A cinematic shot worthy of a cinematic moment 🎥 This ump cam footage of Adolis García's home run from the 2023 ALCS is LEGENDARY! — MLB (@MLB) May 16, 2025 The Brewers certainly need more power in their lineup, as they are currently 22nd in baseball with just 89 home runs this season. That gives them the second-fewest of the five teams from the NL Central, 19 spots behind the division-leading Chicago Cubs. If Milwaukee has hopes of tracking down Chicago and winning a third straight NL Central title, it must make some move to add power to its lineup and García could be the perfect solution. Rangers' $14 Million Slugger Tabbed Intriguing 'Buy-Low Trade Target'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Texas Rangers have been one of the more disappointing teams in baseball. After winning the World Series in 2023, they've fallen off a cliff. As of now, Texas looks to be sellers at the trade deadline and it could entertain the idea of trading a few valuable pieces away if the price is right. Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently listed Rangers outfielder Adolis García as a potential "buy low trade target" for contending teams with holes in the outfield. ARLINGTON, TEXAS - JULY 01: Adolis García #53 of the Texas Rangers hits a two RBI single during the third inning against the Baltimore Orioles at Globe Life Field on July 01, 2025 in Arlington,... ARLINGTON, TEXAS - JULY 01: Adolis García #53 of the Texas Rangers hits a two RBI single during the third inning against the Baltimore Orioles at Globe Life Field on July 01, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. More"Over his first three full seasons in the majors, he posted a 113 OPS+ while averaging 30 doubles, 32 home runs, 99 RBI and 4.0 WAR, earning All-Star selections in 2021 and 2023," Reuter wrote. "He also took home 2023 ALCS MVP honors while helping lead the Rangers to a World Series title. "He took a step backward last season with a 96 OPS+ and 0.3 WAR in 154 games, though he still tallied 25 home runs and 85 RBI. Things have continued to trend in the wrong direction this year. Despite the middling production, he still ranks among the MLB leaders in average exit velocity (93.4 mph, 94th percentile). Perhaps a change of scenery could jump-start his season." There are plenty of teams around the league who could use a slugger like García this season. The San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Kansas City Royals all come to mind. But it might not make the most sense for the Rangers to trade him now. He has a few years left of team control, and Texas is seemingly trying to put the pieces together to win. While it hasn't worked out this year, Texas is a few moves away from contending next season. More MLB: MLB Writer Suggests Massive Red Sox Trade Involving Alex Bregman, Luis Castillo

Former ALCS MVP Quietly Becoming a Trade Candidate
Former ALCS MVP Quietly Becoming a Trade Candidate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas Rangers are trending toward selling at this year's trade deadline. That could make outfielder Adolis García a name to watch. Advertisement According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, García is "a rather interesting trade candidate" given the scarcity of quality right-handed bats on the market. The former American League Championship Series MVP is under club control through next season and remains a fan favorite in Texas. However, his inconsistent offensive production could lead the Rangers to explore their options. In late May, the Rangers gave him a three-game break to work on mechanical adjustments. The pause seemed to help as García has since batted .287 with a .761 OPS. However, if he regresses in the second half, Rosenthal notes he could become a non-tender candidate. That possibility becomes more likely with his salary already at $10.5 million through arbitration. Adolis García could emerge as a rather interesting trade candidate.© Robert Edwards-Imagn Images While a still strong defender and trending upward at the plate, García's trade value might peak this July. The Rangers don't have many enticing expiring contracts, making him one of their more applying trade chips. Advertisement Right-hander Tyler Mahle, sidelined with shoulder soreness, and Jon Gray, still recovering from a fractured forearm, would have drawn interest but likely won't return in time. That leaves García as a key name to monitor as Texas weighs its deadline strategy. Baltimore Orioles' bats silenced in 10-2 loss to Texas Rangers
Jacob deGrom won his fifth consecutive decision in another impressive start, Adolis García drove in four runs and the Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 on Tuesday night. Alejandro Osuna hit his first career homer for Texas, which had gone extra innings in each of its previous four games — losing three of those. DeGrom (9-2, 2.13 ERA) struck out six over six innings in his 14th consecutive start working at least five innings and allowing two runs or fewer. That extended his franchise record and is the longest streak in the majors this season. The two-time Cy Young Award winner scattered five hits, allowing a two-run homer to Gary Sánchez that just cleared the wall. Six nights earlier in Baltimore, deGrom was perfect through six innings and took a no-hitter into the eighth. García put the Rangers ahead to stay with his two-run single in the third, and scored on Jonah Heim's single to make it 3-0 against rookie right-hander Brandon Young (0-3). García had another two-run single in the fifth, an inning before Osuna's two-run homer. Jacob Latz worked the final three innings for his first career save. Key moment Sánchez homered on the next pitch, for the only Baltimore runs, after his two-out foul pop in the fourth inning that dropped just beyond the extended reach of first baseman Josh Smith into the Rangers dugout. Key stat Justin Foscue drove in two runs with a pinch-hit double in the eighth, ending his 0-for-44 slide that was the longest in Rangers history. Up next Nathan Eovaldi (4-3, 1.87 ERA) pitches for Texas in the series finale Wednesday night, only the right-hander's second start since a month-long stay on the injured list because of elbow inflammation. Tomoyuki Sugano (6-4, 4.06) pitches for Baltimore.
