Two Palm Beach County spots named 'Top 100 Hotel Restaurants in U.S.' by OpenTable, Kayak
Hotel restaurants are no longer just for weary travelers. They're the destination. That's the message behind a new collaboration between OpenTable and Kayak, which produced a first-of-its-kind list of the Top 100 Hotel Restaurants in America featuring two local standouts. First up: Akira Back, a modern Japanese concept inside The Ray Hotel in Delray Beach. Influenced by celebrity chef Akira Back's Korean heritage, the eponymous restaurant draws locals and visitors alike with vibrant dishes, dramatic design and a multi-sensory dining experience. 'This award reflects our passion for pushing the boundaries of Japanese cuisine, paired with world-class hospitality and an unforgettable dining experience,' said Back via email. Hotel restaurants are a Back signature: his name is on more than a dozen of them, including the Michelin-starred Dosa at London's Mandarin Oriental Mayfair. , the stylish American bistro at Via Flagler by The Breakers, a few blocks from the resort, also scored a spot. Named after the resort's founder, Henry Morrison Flagler, the restaurant blends elevated comfort food with a touch of nostalgia in a setting that's both refined and welcoming. The rankings draw from more than 10 million verified diner reviews, travel search data, and national surveys to spotlight where travelers are dining once they arrive. Bragging rights in Florida With 21 winners, Florida boasts more top hotel restaurants than any other state on this list, including 10 in Miami and Orlando. There are no numerical positions on this ranking; every winner is listed alphabetically. Other Florida winners by city include: Fort Lauderdale: Steak 954 at the W Key West: Cafe Marquesa Miami: Gianni's at the Former Versace Mansion, Il Mulino New York, Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club, Limonada Bar + Brunch, Palace, The Roof at Esmé Naples: The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples (the beach resort) Ocala: Stirrups at World Equestrian Center Orlando: A Land Remembered at Rosen Shingle Creek, BACÁN, Bull & Bear Steakhouse, Capa and Ravello at Four Seasons Orlando, Epilogue, Knife & Spoon, Nami Tampa: Lilac Culinary tourism is trending To uncover dining trends at U.S. hotel restaurants, OpenTable and Kayak analyzed over 10 million verified diner reviews, year-over-year travel search data and two national surveys of hotel diners. The list is rooted in diner insights and travel behavior, and it reflects a growing trend: travelers are planning trips around what and where they want to eat. According to OpenTable, 47% of Americans book a trip specifically to dine at a restaurant, and 38% have chosen a hotel because of its restaurant. Kayak reports a 51% year-over-year increase in the use of its 'restaurant' hotel filter, which they say is a clear sign that food is becoming a deciding factor in travel planning. Other survey findings: 73% of travelers say they'd return to a hotel because of a great on-site dining experience. 45% admit they post more about meals than monuments while traveling. 'Travelers aren't just asking, 'Where should I go?'' said Kate Williams, Kayak's chief communications officer. 'They're asking, 'What's on the menu when I get there?' Of note, Booking Holdings is the parent company of both OpenTable and Kayak. Only restaurants using the platforms were considered. If you go: Akira Back at The Ray Hotel Address: 233 NE Second Ave., Delray Beach Call: 561-739-1708 Web: Hours: Daily 5 to 10 p.m. If you go: Henry's Palm Beach at The Breakers Address: 229 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach; Via Flagler by The Breakers (just a few blocks from the resort) Call: 561-206-1896 Web: Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Daily brunch until 3 p.m. Etc.: Complimentary shuttle from The Breakers available for resort guests. Denise Van Outen 'wary' of trusting new boyfriend despite being 'smitten'
EXCLUSIVE: Denise Van Outen has been unlucky in love in recent years, but after being spotted with new boyfriend Adam Butler at Glastonbury, a source has said Denise is smitten Her love life has been anything but smooth sailing over the past few years, but after Denise Van Outen went public with her new boyfriend Adam Butler at Glastonbury Festival, a source claims the former Big Breakfast presenter is 'taking it slow – but she's very happy'. Loved-up Denise was spotted holding hands with the businessman in the VIP area at the festival, where she surprised fans with a secret DJ gig. According to our source, Denise feels she's finally hit the mark with her new man. 'She's taking her time, but she's never felt happier and she feels this time she's got it right. Her friends and family can see she's in a really great place and are delighted for her. It's been really hard for Denise to trust again after her relationship with Eddie [Boxshall] – it was a big deal for her. 'She wanted to keep this new relationship quiet and not put it all out there, but people who know her can see how happy she is with Adam.' Denise, 51, told new last year that she felt 'liberated' as a single woman, but things have clearly changed as she couldn't have looked more delighted to be with her new love. Her blossoming romance comes after Denise's confession that she only took up golf in order to meet men, ditching dating apps and turning to the sport in 2014 after lots of her male friends had started playing. The TV presenter and DJ shares a daughter Betsy, 15, with theatre star Lee Mead, with the two divorcing in 2013. Denise told host Russell Kane on TUI's podcast Pack Your Bags, 'I got into it after my divorce, and I wanted to go somewhere where there are just loads of men. 'When you're young, you just go to a nightclub. And I was like, 'I just don't want to spend all night in the nightclub. Where have all the nightclubbers gone now?' 'And I looked, and most of my male friends have grown up and got into golf. I thought, 'Perfect.'' Rumours of a new romance began circulating in April after Adam joined Denise for a Maldives break. The pair were then spotted last month in the Akira Back restaurant at London's Mandarin Oriental hotel, following a series of dates. Prior to meeting Adam, Denise had dated property developer Jimmy Barba for 18 months, but she confirmed their break-up in November 2023. Last year, she admitted she had joined celebrity dating app Raya in the hopes of finding The One. So her new romance must be welcome after a tricky few years. Denise's relationship with fiancé Eddie Boxshall broke down in January 2022 after seven years, following revelations that he had been sexting other women. Denise confirmed the split on Instagram, stating she would 'always treasure the good times' but that it 'saddened' her to confirm the separation. She said later that she was prioritising her self-worth and self-respect. Our source continues, 'Denise was very hurt after the break-up with Eddie and it took her a long time to find her confidence in a relationship again. 'She's a tough cookie, but wears her heart on her sleeve, so when she's hurt by someone, it hits her hard and she puts her walls up, which most people can relate to. 'She's had a lot of support from good friends like Vanessa Feltz and Myleene Klass, and everyone has been rooting for her. 'Thankfully, she's feeling really happy and strong again, and she won't let her past experiences ruin things for her.' Last May, Denise told OK! magazine that she was entering her fifties feeling 'blessed' and that, after seven months of being single, she was 'really loving it'. She added that she'd never allowed herself 'breathing space' between relationships. She said, 'My parents have been married for 55 years and they've always been the benchmark for me when it comes to relationships. 'I hoped my love life would be like that, but obviously things have turned out differently. I'm OK with that. We live in a different age.' Admitting that she had always 'put everything' into romantic relationships, Denise said that she had changed. 'I'm older and wiser, and because I've had my fingers burnt a few times, I now know what I don't want.' Adding that she was enjoying going on dates, she said, 'I don't feel pressured to rush into anything. 'When the time's right, then I'll be ready to meet Mr Right. Until that happens, I'm just going to sit back and go with the flow.' Thanks to her new man, it seems Denise may just have found exactly what she wants, at exactly the right time.

W hotel opens in the heart of Florence
Marriott International's W Hotels brand has opened the W Florence in the Italian city's historic center. The hotel is located near the city's Duomo and is housed within a landmark building that was once the home of the Grand Hotel Majestic. The property features 119 guestrooms, including a penthouse with a roughly 1,500-square-foot private terrace that offers views of the Duomo and St. Lorenzo Cathedral. The W Florence's dining offerings are opening in phases. Tratto, a contemporary Italian restaurant helmed by the culinary collective Trattoria Contemporanea, has already made its debut. Tratto operates the hotel's main dining room and bar as well as its W Lounge, courtyard and room service. Two additional venues -- the craft cocktail-focused Zefiro Rooftop and contemporary Korean and Japanese concept Akira Back -- are scheduled to debut later this summer. The hotel also offers a 24/7 gym, outfitted with cardio and strength-training equipment, as well as a central courtyard that can host private events. The Florence property marks the lifestyle flag's second Italian location, joining the W Rome.
