At least 51 killed in 'Israeli' fire near Gaza aid centers: Gaza Civil Defense

The Gaza Civil Defense announced that 51 people were killed since early Tuesday by 'Israeli' army fire, with most casualties occurring near two aid distribution centers in the devastated central and southern parts of Gaza. Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told AFP that rescue teams transported at least 25 bodies and dozens of injured, including children, to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, following gunfire and tank shelling by 'Israeli' forces in western Rafah. 'Israeli' forces targeted groups of civilians near the Al-Alam and Al-Shakoush areas in western Rafah as they waited to access an aid center in northwest Rafah, Basal added. He explained that 'Israeli' soldiers opened fire from a military position as thousands of people approached the Al-Shakoush area, about two kilometers from the Rafah aid center. Earlier, Basal said the Civil Defense had transferred at least 21 bodies and over 150 wounded after 'Israeli' troops fired and shelled thousands of civilians near an American aid center between the Al-Shuhada junction (Nitsarim) and Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza. Victims were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The 'Israeli' army said it had detected a gathering of civilians near its forces operating in the Nitsarim corridor in central Gaza. It confirmed receiving reports of casualties from 'Israeli army fire in the area,' with details under review. Al-Awda Hospital confirmed receiving at least 21 bodies and around 150 injured, including 62 critical cases caused by Israeli fire near Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza. Eyewitnesses reported that at approximately 1:45 AM Jerusalem time, thousands of Palestinians gathered near the Netzarim Corridor, just hundreds of meters from an aid distribution center. Eyewitness Rabhi Al-Qassas said, 'We were almost 50,000 people. The Israelis deceived us, made us enter the food distribution point, then opened fire randomly. The wounded and dead are lying in the streets for the sake of a meal.' He questioned, 'How long will this continue? When will these victims get a solution?' Another witness confirmed that Israeli forces fired bullets and multiple artillery shells, while 'Israeli' drones fired on thousands of civilians waiting for aid near the Netzarim Corridor close to Wadi Gaza Bridge, resulting in deaths and injuries. Basal also reported the transfer of five bodies and several wounded from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house early Tuesday in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, southern Gaza City. Victims were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The war in Gaza erupted after an unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,219 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli official figures. Since then, 'Israel' has launched a devastating war killing 56,077 people in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the latest count from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

Israeli attacks on Gaza kill 71 in one day, including aid seekers

DaysofPal – At least 71 civilians were killed on Tuesday in a new wave of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, marking the 99th consecutive day of military aggression that has devastated the besieged Palestinian territory. The most recent round of shelling and airstrikes intensified the humanitarian crisis amid the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza by targeting refugee camps, family homes, and civilians waiting for humanitarian aid. According to medical sources, more than 50 people were killed by Israeli fire while waiting for aid. One of the deadliest incidents took place on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza, where Israeli forces struck a large gathering of civilians seeking food and water. Al-Awda Hospital reported receiving 19 bodies and treating 146 injured, 62 of whom remain in critical condition. Local sources said 24 civilians were killed and dozens wounded in that single strike alone. The names of some of those killed near Netzarim include Khamis Nahad Al-Warr, Abdullah Wael Al-Barbrawi, Khaled Ibrahim Musleh, Osama Mahmoud Al-Turaifi, Mithqal Abu Lamdi, Abdullah Abu Shihadeh, and Nasser Hamdan Abu Samaha. Elsewhere in the Strip, at least 20 people were killed near aid distribution points in northern Rafah. Israeli artillery also shelled the Shuja'iya neighborhood east of Gaza City, killing one person and wounding several others. In Khan Yunis, rescue teams recovered the bodies of Hussam Hussein Ali Abu Shqair and Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Abu Shqair from the Al-Satar area, following bombardments there. A strike by Israel on the Al-Farani family home in the Al-Shati refugee camp has killed three people, including two young children, Alaa Al-Farani (4) and Alaa Al-Farani (5), and their father, Alaa Al-Farani 'Abu Muhammad.' Ten more civilians were killed when Israeli aircraft bombed the home of the Qazaat family in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. The genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has resulted in dire circumstances. The Israeli aggression targeted homes and tents sheltering displaced persons and gatherings of citizens. With unconditional US support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 187,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women، and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons. 21 Palestinians Martyred by Israeli Gunfire in Gaza, Including 11 Waiting for Aid At least 21 Palestinians were martyred and several others injured on Saturday as a result of Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the Gaza Strip, including 11 individuals who were waiting to receive humanitarian aid. اضافة اعلان According to Palestinian medical sources, six people were killed and at least 10 injured by Israeli gunfire while waiting near an aid distribution point west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported the deaths of five Palestinians and the injury of 15 others as they attempted to obtain aid near the Al-Shohada Junction in central Gaza. Additionally, three Palestinians were killed and others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Zaytoun neighborhood in southern Gaza City, with victims transferred to Ahli Arab (Al-Maamadani) Hospital. Another three Palestinian brothers were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Mansoura Street in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, while one more Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces northwest of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has carried out what has been widely condemned as genocidal acts in Gaza, involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in defiance of international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the aggression. The ongoing assault has resulted in over 186,000 casualties, including martyrs and wounded — the majority being women and children — in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and widespread famine that has claimed the lives of many, including children. — (WAFA)

Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza nears collapse after renewed Israeli strikes

Jakarta: The Indonesia Hospital, one of the last partially functional medical centers in northern Gaza, is nearing collapse after days of Israeli strikes on its key infrastructure, the Jakarta-based nongovernmental organization funding the facility said on Tuesday. The hospital in Beit Lahiya, a four-story building located near the Jabalia refugee camp, was built from donations organized by the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee. Like other healthcare facilities in Gaza, it has been targeted by Israel's new military onslaught on the besieged enclave, in which hundreds of people were killed in the past three days. 'A quadcopter targeted the hospital's generators. Two of them were destroyed in the ensuing fire. Our water supply has been disrupted, and people aren't able to enter or exit the hospital area because there's a risk of being shot,' Dr. Hadiki Habib, chairman of MER-C's executive committee, told Arab News. At least 31 people were trapped inside the Indonesia Hospital as of Tuesday morning, including eight health workers and bedridden patients. The Indonesia Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital are the only two hospitals still treating patients in northern Gaza, Habib added, as Israeli attacks have forced most public hospitals in the area out of service. Israel launched a new ground operation, called Operation Gideon's Chariots, across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, following over two months of total blockade on the enclave after Tel Aviv unilaterally broke a ceasefire with the Palestinian group Hamas in March. But Israeli forces have carried out brutal attacks in hundreds of locations across Gaza in the lead-up to the operation, killing hundreds of Palestinians. The latest offensive comes as Israel continues its onslaught of Gaza that began in October 2023 and has killed more than 53,400 Palestinians and wounded over 121,000 more. The deadly attacks have also pushed 2 million others to starvation after Israeli forces destroyed most of the region's infrastructure and buildings and blocked humanitarian aid. It was only on Monday that Israel's military said it allowed five aid trucks into Gaza, though according to the UN, the enclave needs at least 500 trucks of aid and commercial goods every day. 'It's very sad and heartbreaking. The Indonesia Hospital is barely functioning. All logistics needs have been blocked by Israel and there are threats against healthcare workers to leave and empty the facility,' Sarbini Abdul Murad, chairman of MER-C's board of trustees in Jakarta, told Arab News. The Indonesia Hospital was one of the first targets hit when Israel began its assault on Gaza, in which it regularly targets medical facilities. Attacks on health centers, medical personnel and patients constitute war crimes under the 1949 Geneva Convention. 'There is no place left that is safe from Israel's pursuit,' Murad said. 'For the sake of humanity, the international community must pressure Israel to agree to a ceasefire so that we can stop this humanitarian tragedy.'
