At least 51 killed in 'Israeli' fire near Gaza aid centers: Gaza Civil Defense

Roya News5 days ago

The Gaza Civil Defense announced that 51 people were killed since early Tuesday by 'Israeli' army fire, with most casualties occurring near two aid distribution centers in the devastated central and southern parts of Gaza.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told AFP that rescue teams transported at least 25 bodies and dozens of injured, including children, to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, following gunfire and tank shelling by 'Israeli' forces in western Rafah.
'Israeli' forces targeted groups of civilians near the Al-Alam and Al-Shakoush areas in western Rafah as they waited to access an aid center in northwest Rafah, Basal added.
He explained that 'Israeli' soldiers opened fire from a military position as thousands of people approached the Al-Shakoush area, about two kilometers from the Rafah aid center.
Earlier, Basal said the Civil Defense had transferred at least 21 bodies and over 150 wounded after 'Israeli' troops fired and shelled thousands of civilians near an American aid center between the Al-Shuhada junction (Nitsarim) and Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza. Victims were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
The 'Israeli' army said it had detected a gathering of civilians near its forces operating in the Nitsarim corridor in central Gaza. It confirmed receiving reports of casualties from 'Israeli army fire in the area,' with details under review.
Al-Awda Hospital confirmed receiving at least 21 bodies and around 150 injured, including 62 critical cases caused by Israeli fire near Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza.
Eyewitnesses reported that at approximately 1:45 AM Jerusalem time, thousands of Palestinians gathered near the Netzarim Corridor, just hundreds of meters from an aid distribution center.
Eyewitness Rabhi Al-Qassas said, 'We were almost 50,000 people. The Israelis deceived us, made us enter the food distribution point, then opened fire randomly. The wounded and dead are lying in the streets for the sake of a meal.'
He questioned, 'How long will this continue? When will these victims get a solution?'
Another witness confirmed that Israeli forces fired bullets and multiple artillery shells, while 'Israeli' drones fired on thousands of civilians waiting for aid near the Netzarim Corridor close to Wadi Gaza Bridge, resulting in deaths and injuries.
Basal also reported the transfer of five bodies and several wounded from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house early Tuesday in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, southern Gaza City. Victims were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
The war in Gaza erupted after an unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,219 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli official figures.
Since then, 'Israel' has launched a devastating war killing 56,077 people in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the latest count from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

French Foreign Minister: We Are Determined to Recognize the State of Palestine - Jordan News

French Foreign Minister: We Are Determined to Recognize the State of Palestine French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated on Saturday that France is determined to recognize the State of Palestine, reaffirming the country's commitment to a two-state solution. اضافة اعلان In an interview with the French channel LCI, Barrot commented on the latest developments in the Middle East, specifically addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He highlighted that 500 Palestinians were killed and nearly 4,000 injured during food distribution operations in Gaza in May 2025, describing the deaths as a "disgrace and an affront to human dignity." Barrot stressed that France and Europe are ready to contribute to ensuring the proper distribution of food in Gaza. Since May 27, Israel and the United States have been carrying out a limited aid distribution plan outside the framework of the United Nations and international organizations. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have opened fire on Palestinians lining up to receive aid, forcing them to choose between starvation or being shot. As of last Wednesday, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that 549 Palestinians had been killed and over 4,066 injured while trying to access these "Israeli-American aid centers." Barrot emphasized that there is no justification for the continued Israeli attacks on Gaza and reiterated: 'We are determined to recognize the State of Palestine. This will happen within a joint framework that encourages all parties to create the conditions necessary for the establishment of this state.' On May 22, 2024, Norway, Ireland, and Spain officially announced their recognition of the State of Palestine, effective May 28. Prior to that, eight EU countries had already done so: Bulgaria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, the Greek Cypriot Administration, and Sweden. To date, 149 out of the 193 UN member states have recognized the State of Palestine.

EMRC Concludes Participation in International ConvEx-3 Exercise to Strengthen National Preparedness for Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies

The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) has concluded its effective participation in the international ConvEx-3 exercise, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over 24–25 June 2025. The large-scale drill brought together IAEA Member States -more than 75 countries and 10 international organizations- to simulate a hypothetical nuclear incident at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant in Romania. اضافة اعلان Eng. Ziad Al-Saaydeh, Chairman of the EMRC Board of Commissioners, stated that the exercise marks a significant milestone in enhancing Jordan's national capabilities and strengthening its framework for preparedness in nuclear and radiological emergencies. He affirmed the Kingdom's continued commitment to the implementation of international nuclear safety conventions, emphasizing that EMRC is working through integrated plans covering regulatory, technical, and communication aspects to ensure the highest levels of protection for individuals, property, and the environment in accordance with global best practices. ConvEx-3 is the highest-level emergency preparedness exercise conducted by the IAEA. It aims to assess the effectiveness of both national and international responses to complex nuclear and radiological scenarios, evaluate coordination efficiency and information exchange between states, and identify opportunities to improve national emergency plans. What made this edition unique was the integration of simulated cyber threats, cross-border coordination on protective measures, and a secure social media simulation platform to test real-time public communication strategies. EMRC's engagement in the exercise included activating Jordan's officially designated National Warning Point and coordinating real-time information exchange via the IAEA's Unified System for Information Exchange in Incidents and Emergencies (USIE). The Commission also issued transparent and professional public updates regarding Jordan's radiological safety status and monitored developments through its direct link with the IAEA's International Radiation Monitoring Information System (IRMIS). At the conclusion of the exercise, Chairman Al-Saaydeh stressed the importance of such international simulations in testing the responsiveness and resilience of Jordan's emergency systems under realistic and complex conditions. He reiterated that EMRC, in close cooperation with the IAEA, remains dedicated to further enhancing its regulatory and technical capabilities—reinforcing Jordan's position as a responsible and proactive member of the global nuclear and radiological safety and security framework.
