Al-Faraya explains the reasons for the delay of travelers across the King Hussein Bridge

Khaberni -The Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, chaired a meeting this morning, Sunday, at the King Hussein Bridge, attended by bridge officials and the CEO of JET for passenger transportation, to discuss the issues and complaints related to the electronic booking service for travelers across the bridge and the inability to book for several days. This situation exposes travelers to exploitation and relatively long waiting times, causing congestion and pressure in providing services. The minister emphasized to all officials and the CEO of JET the necessity of receiving all observations and complaints, studying them, and finding appropriate solutions to address them, in a manner that reflects the main idea of the bridge, considering it a humanitarian passage aimed at facilitating the crossing of citizens and Palestinian brethren in both directions, and according to humanitarian priorities and the purpose of using the bridge. In this context, Minister Al-Faraya reviewed the reality of these observations and complaints and listened to a briefing from the bridge officials and the CEO of JET, where it was indicated that the main problem is due to travelers arriving at the King Hussein Bridge early, before the travel time, causing overcrowding and long waiting times until departure. Additionally, there are individuals affected by activating the platform, trying to create confusion about its effectiveness. On the other hand, there is a problem in the nature of the electronic booking service for travelers, which allows one person to buy several tickets without a specified limit, and the traveler himself does not enter the platform to purchase his ticket or his family's, but buys them from others, exposing him to exploitation, resulting in tickets being sold at high illegal prices. Moreover, it was noted that there are groups of people who frequently use the bridge for profit-oriented and various other purposes, which are not closely linked to the primary priorities of using the bridge, increasing congestion and delaying the movement of travelers and affecting the smoothness of procedures, due to the limited daily number of bridge users according to the arrangements with the other party. In addressing these issues and complaints, the Minister of Interior directed the officials at the bridge and JET for passenger transportation to implement a series of measures and instructions, such as not allowing one person to purchase only a limited number of electronic tickets, specifying the name of the ticket user and the necessity of issuing the electronic ticket in the name of the traveler himself with high specifications that are not susceptible to forgery, and matching the traveler's name on the ticket with his name recorded in the passport, in coordination between JET and the security forces working at the bridge, and not allowing anyone to enter the bridge area who does not have a travel ticket. Minister Al-Faraya also requested JET to reorganize the special service for travelers (V.I.P), so that it becomes an electronic service, organized through electronic booking via the platform, instead of personal attendance at the service site, in addition to upgrading the facilities of this service and facilitating its procedures, in accordance with the intended goal. Furthermore, the Minister of Interior urged the traveling brothers to arrive at the bridge half an hour before the departure time and not to come early, to avoid long waiting periods, with the aim of reducing congestion and facilitating the procedures followed until departure. Minister Al-Faraya also emphasized to the concerned authorities the necessity to work, in coordination with the Directorate of Information Technology at the Ministry center, to identify categories of people who frequently use the bridge for special purposes, disrupting the operations and delaying ordinary travelers, and the need to take a series of measures aimed at restricting their illegal use of the bridge. Moreover, Minister Al-Faraya directed the Governor of Balqa and the Director of West Balqa Police to implement sustained security campaigns in the areas surrounding the bridge to control lawbreakers who exploit travelers in an unlawful manner, and to coordinate with the municipality of Shuna Al-Wusta to rehabilitate the area adjacent to the bridge and establish a car park instead of parking on the sides of the roads. The Minister of Interior conducted a field tour of various bridge facilities and reviewed the services provided there, listening directly from travelers about the nature of the challenges and observations related to using the bridge, and he emphasized to the concerned parties the necessity of addressing all observations and complaints and that he will follow up on the measures taken in this context firsthand, to ensure optimal service provision for travelers. It is noted that, last June, JET for passenger transportation announced the launch of travelers' booking service on the King Hussein Bridge through electronic booking only, via a specialized booking platform prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, where digitizing the ticket booking services has contributed to improving procedures in various aspects.

Faraya: Those Who Undermine National Unity Are Enemies of the Homeland and Every Loyal Jordanian - Jordan News

Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya on Monday sponsored the celebration organized by Jerash Private University on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. اضافة اعلان In his speech, Al-Faraya emphasized that independence is the fruit of a long struggle in which forefathers sacrificed dearly, enduring years of patience and resilience. He recalled the sacrifices made by Jordanian families, offering martyrs one after another for the sake of building a prosperous state, now wisely and capably led by His Majesty King Abdullah II. Al-Faraya highlighted the vital role of the Jordanian citizen in shaping and preserving independence, stating that the independent individual is the cornerstone of a cohesive society—one that understands that true belonging to the nation is only complete through giving, solidarity, empathy, responsibility, and genuine volunteerism. He stressed that a person's value is not measured by their name, lineage, or origin, but by what they achieve and contribute, and the positive impact they leave in their community and country. Al-Faraya pointed to the ongoing meaning of independence as the true launchpad for development, progress, and achievement. He noted that nearly every town across Jordan now enjoys public services like roads, water, electricity, schools, health centers, and sports facilities. As a result, the country has come to symbolize modernity, growth, and stability, becoming a destination for residents of other nations due to its secure and stable environment. On another note, Al-Faraya addressed the critical importance of national unity in reinforcing independence and strengthening the internal front. He stated that "whoever undermines national unity is an enemy of the homeland and every sincere Jordanian." In contrast, he affirmed that true, active citizenship is the foundation of achievement and the most genuine expression of independence. Standing behind the Hashemite leadership, he said, is the only path to overcoming challenges and securing the stability of the country. Marking the occasion, Al-Faraya expressed deep pride in the Jordanian Armed Forces and security agencies—Jordan's fortress and stronghold—and praised their essential role in preserving the achievements and values of independence. Finally, he extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on this cherished national occasion. After sabotage plot: Jordan outlaws Muslim Brotherhood

Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, Jordan officially outlawed all activities associated with the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood, ordering the closure of its offices and the seizure of its assets. Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya revealed in a press briefing that security investigations had uncovered the group's involvement in plotting attacks and stockpiling weapons in residential areas. 'The government will not tolerate any entity or individual jeopardizing national security,' Al-Faraya warned, asserting that affiliation with the Brotherhood is now considered a criminal offense, with legal action to follow. The move comes amid growing calls from lawmakers to dismantle the Islamic Action Front—the Brotherhood's political wing—after intelligence reports linked several of its members to a recently dismantled militant cell. According to Jordan's General Intelligence Directorate, 16 individuals have been arrested since 2021 on charges related to the manufacture of rockets and drones, and possession of explosives and firearms. These cases have been reportedly referred to the State Security Court. Founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, the Muslim Brotherhood emerged as a Sunni Islamist movement advocating for sharia-based governance. While initially focused on religious and social reform, the organization gradually evolved into a political force with affiliates across several Muslim-majority nations. The group extended its influence beyond Egypt, reaching countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Jordan, and Palestine, as well as Gulf nations including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Oman, and Bahrain.

Jordan Declares Muslim Brotherhood Illegal, Bans Membership and Seizes Its Assets - Jordan News

Jordanian Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya announced on Wednesday the immediate enforcement of legal provisions against the so-called dissolved Muslim Brotherhood group, labeling it an illegal association. اضافة اعلان In a press briefing, the minister declared a ban on all activities of the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood, stating that any form of activity under its name constitutes a legal violation and will be subject to legal accountability. Al-Faraya emphasized the acceleration of the work of the dissolution committee tasked with confiscating all movable and immovable assets belonging to the group, in accordance with related judicial rulings. He confirmed that membership in the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood is prohibited, as is the promotion of its ideology, with violators subject to prosecution. The minister also announced the closure of any offices or premises used by the group across the Kingdom, even if shared with other entities, under threat of legal consequences. He warned political forces, media outlets, social media users, civil society institutions, and all other entities against engaging with or publishing content related to the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood or any of its fronts or affiliates, noting that legal measures will be taken against violators. Al-Faraya stressed that legal action will be taken against any individual or entity found to be involved in criminal acts connected to the dissolved group, based on ongoing court investigations. He revealed that on the same night plans were announced last week, the group attempted to smuggle and destroy a large amount of documents from its premises to conceal its activities and suspicious connections. The minister also disclosed that following the announcement of threats to national security last week, authorities intercepted an operation involving the manufacturing and testing of explosives by an individual associated with the group's leadership and others. They were reportedly planning to target security forces and sensitive locations within Jordan. Al-Faraya stated that these decisions stem from the state's commitment to protecting society and maintaining order, preventing actions that disturb public security or distort legitimate political engagement. He affirmed that Jordan has historically supported citizens' rights to form political parties and associations and to express their opinions freely within the law. However, elements of the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood have acted covertly in ways that destabilize security and national unity, defying court rulings and public order. He cited the discovery of explosives and weapons moving between cities and being stored in residential areas, including the concealment of rockets in Amman suburbs, and training and recruitment operations both domestically and abroad, as unacceptable for any state. Al-Faraya concluded by reiterating the government's commitment to safeguarding citizens' rights to free expression and responsible political engagement, within the legal framework, stressing the importance of national unity, especially amid current regional and global challenges. At the beginning of his remarks, the minister highlighted that Islam advocates tolerance and moderation, warning that extremism and fanaticism only lead to chaos, violence, and division within societies.
