Sudanese officials: Hemedti's speech to his forces took place inside Libyan territory

The Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports and former Ambassador to Tripoli, Haj Majid Suwar, revealed that the meeting of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, with his troops did not take place inside Sudanese territory as claimed, but rather in areas under the control of Khalifa Haftar inside Libya. In a post on his Facebook page, Suwar said he had 'confirmed information from reliable Libyan sources' about the celebration in which Hemedti appeared, and that it was filmed deep within Libyan territory. Meanwhile, retired Brigadier General and security and strategic expert Amer Hassan cast doubt on the size of the military gathering, explaining to Al Jazeera Net that the RSF does not have such a large number of forces in one location, as seen in the video. He stated that if it were in any area of Darfur or Kordofan, it would have been spotted and targeted, as these are active combat zones. He suggested the footage may have been digitally manipulated. Hassan also believes Hemedti aimed to address several issues by appearing among his forces, most notably to demonstrate that he is still alive, mobile, and in command — an implicit response to speculation arising from his prolonged absence. In his speech to a large gathering of his troops, Hemedti admitted to military losses, stating, 'We lost precious land and dear souls,' but he vowed to return 'with dignity and pride.' He also noted that his forces' control of the Al-Awainat triangle — the border area between Sudan, Libya, and Egypt — could provide 'a positive contribution to Sudan's neighbors' by securing the borders, affirming that he has no problem with any neighboring country. South Africa Signs $1.5 Billion Loan Agreement with World Bank

Cape Town - (Saba): The South African Treasury announced on Wednesday the signing of a $1.5 billion loan agreement with the World Bank to upgrade its transport and energy infrastructure, in an effort to revive its struggling economy. For more than a decade, Africa's largest economy has been facing worsening crises, including recurring power outages that have hampered productivity, deteriorating rail networks, and chronically congested ports, negatively impacting vital sectors such as mining and the automotive industry. Through this financing, the government aims to alleviate transport congestion and enhance energy security, without specifying the projects for which the funding will be allocated, according to Al Jazeera Net. The loan offers favorable terms compared to commercial financing, as it includes a three-year grace period, which will help limit rising debt service costs. This loan comes separately from another $500 million financing being considered by the World Bank Group to support private sector investment in the electricity transmission network, which requires expansion to accommodate renewable energy projects. South African Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana unveiled in his budget last month an investment plan exceeding R1 trillion (approximately $55.5 billion), covering the transport, energy, water, and sanitation sectors, as part of the government's efforts to stimulate growth and improve public services. The Treasury aims to see public debt peak at 77.4% of GDP during the current fiscal year, with a gradual decline thereafter. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Enemy media: three Israeli soldiers killed, seven injured in Gaza ambush

Occupied al-Quds – Saba: An Israeli enemy media reported that three Israeli enemy soldiers were killed and seven others were injured, some of them critically, after falling into a complex ambush by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. The media explained that Palestinian fighters ambushed a Zionist military force and another ambush a rescue force, according to Al Jazeera Net. The enemy media indicated that the injured Zionist soldiers were transferred to a hospital in Jaffa (Tel Aviv), and the families of the targeted soldiers were notified. The enemy media reported that Palestinian fighters targeted military vehicles, setting them on fire. This development comes amid repeated attacks by the Palestinian resistance on the Israeli enemy forces in the south and north of the Gaza Strip, which have been committing daily massacres against the residents of the Strip since October 7, 2023. Astronomers Detect unique cosmic structure like no other

Washington – SABA: For the first time, astronomers have detected a massive cloud of energetic subatomic particles enveloping a giant galaxy cluster known as 'PLCK G287.0+32.9.' Galaxy clusters are among the largest known structures in the observable universe—vast gatherings of galaxies held together by gravity. This particular discovery has revealed a cloud spanning about 20 million light-years, nearly 200 times the diameter of our Milky Way galaxy. According to Al Jazeera Net, which reported on Monday, the findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal. The galaxy cluster lies about 5 billion light-years from Earth, and it was initially discovered in 2011 using a combination of terrestrial and space-based observatories. The new study, led by researchers from the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard University, was unveiled during a press conference at the 246th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Anchorage, Alaska. The discovery relied on X-ray data collected by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, appearing in the new imagery as blue and violet hues. Additional data came from the MeerKAT Radio Telescope in South Africa—one of the world's most powerful radio observatories—which provided the orange and yellow tones. Furthermore, visible light data was obtained using the Pan-STARRS telescope located atop Mount Haleakalā on the Hawaiian island of Maui, known for its clear and high-altitude skies. This exceptional cloud appears to be powered in an unusual way—through giant shockwaves and gas turbulence within the cluster. Unlike typical galaxy clusters, where such emissions are found mostly around the edges, this cloud completely envelops the entire cluster. These findings raise intriguing questions about the nature of such clouds and offer new insights into long-standing mysteries—such as: How do electrons in these clouds maintain their energy across such vast distances and time scales? This discovery marks a significant step forward in understanding cosmic structures and the energetic environments that shape our universe. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)
