NAMA Talks: Women and financial risk awareness
Her Excellency Judge Dr Salama Rashid Al Ketbi, Head of the Judicial Inspection Department at the Sharjah Judicial Department, revealed that NAMA Women Advancement is organising a panel discussion titled 'Empowering Women through Financial Risk Awareness and Understanding,' in the Aljada area of Sharjah, which highlighted the financial risks women are exposed to. Understanding rights and duties Speaking exclusively to 'Sharjah 24,' Al Ketbi explained that the panel discussed several topics related to financial risks and ways to enhance legal awareness, including seeking legal advice before signing any documents or papers, and the importance of knowing the rights and duties guaranteed by the law. The session is part of the "NAMA Talks" series, an initiative launched by the NAMA Women Advancement, which aims to raise awareness among women about issues that affect their daily lives and empower them to make informed decisions that enhance their active participation in various aspects of social and economic life.

The goal was to help participants represent their country with pride and avoid the risks associated with social media misuse. Key workshops included: "Digital Citizenship", "Emirati Etiquette", "Customs and Traditions", and "Welcoming Guests".

150 players partake in summer shooting tournament at AlDhaid Club
Ali Abdullah bin Nouma Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Summer Open Shooting Championship, confirmed that the tournament is being held for the first time at the club, with significant participation from various segments of society in the air pistol and rifle categories . In exclusive statements to 'Sharjah 24,' Al Ketbi explained that the participating categories in the championship are: young shooters aged 14 and under, youth aged 15 to 20, men aged 21 to 50, seniors aged 50 and over, and professional club players .

Mleiha Club enriches "Sharjah Sports Summer" with special events
This summer event is adorned with interaction and a sense of belonging, featuring a diverse range of activities. Organised under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), the event will include children and youth aged 7-17. A Diverse Range of Activities The second week of the programme will feature a diverse range of educational, recreational, sports, cultural, and heritage activities that reinforce national identity and enrich participants' knowledge and behaviour. The week will kick off with activities that promote Emirati values, including specialized Quranic activities such as Quran recitation and Tajweed, in cooperation with the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation, and ablution and prayer workshops under the supervision of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. "Treasures of the Sands of Mleiha" With a distinctive environmental and educational dimension, the Mleiha Archaeological Centre is hosting the "Treasures of the Sands of Mleiha " workshop, which allows participants to explore the natural and geological history of the region through field visits and live models. This workshop, in collaboration with BEEAH, also focused on making agricultural pots using recycled plastic. This workshop contributed to instilling concepts of sustainability and environmental responsibility among participants. Sports Activities The sports aspect will feature mini-competitions in swimming, football, basketball, and volleyball. The categories will be divided according to age to ensure fairness and maximum interaction, under the supervision of specialised trainers in a stimulating and safe environment. "I Know My Sharjah" Arts will also be part of the programme, with participants showcasing their creativity in Arabic calligraphy, drawing, and "Colours of Sharjah" workshops. They will also participate in the "I Know My Sharjah" cultural competition, organised by the club's Cultural Committee to foster a spirit of intellectual competition and develop thinking and analytical skills. Among the distinguished activities, an astronomy workshop will be held at the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, and a workshop on home security and safety will be presented by the Civil Defense and Community Police, providing participants with important life skills through simplified interactive methods. Connecting Children to Emirati Identity Abdulrahman Muhair Al Ketbi, member of the Mleiha Club's Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Summer Activities Organising Committee, expressed his pride in the comprehensive educational content offered by the club, saying that Maliha Club does not only offer seasonal activities, but rather, it builds a system of values, belonging, and knowledge through integrated activities that address the mind and conscience, connecting children to their Emirati identity, heritage, present, and future. Building Awareness, Shaping Character, & Simulating Creativity Al Ketbi added that 'Here is Sharjah' week reflects the cultural and educational vision that characterises the Sharjah Sports Summer. The holiday transforms into a platform for building awareness, shaping character, and stimulating creativity, all in an atmosphere filled with vitality and excitement, living up to the aspirations of parents and the community. Al Ketbi explained that the organising committee for the Maliha Club's summer events will continue its summer programmes until the end of July, amid praise from participants and parents, who expressed their appreciation for the rich content and exemplary organisation. They emphasised that the programme contributed to changing their children's perception of the holiday, turning it into an opportunity for growth, discovery, and connection to national values. Al Ketbi added that through this week, the club seeks to integrate national content with daily activities in a smooth and engaging manner, keeping values embedded in the minds of participants, not as a mere indoctrination, but rather as a life they live and a community to which they belong. Al Ketbi explained that the "Here is Sharjah" events will continue until the end of this week, amid expectations that they will succeed in achieving their educational and societal goals and consolidating the Maliha Club's position as a true incubator for creativity. Al Dhaid Club members visit SRTI Park
Enhancing awareness of advanced technology The visit aimed to enhance participants' awareness of advanced technology concepts and introduce them to the latest practices in artificial intelligence, 3D printing, smart environments, and the connection between scientific research and the job market. This experience empowers students to envision the future and understand its practical tools. Diverse activities in the summer programme The "I Am Creative" week is one of five weeks included in the summer program at Al Dhaid Club. The program covers various themes such as "Here is Sharjah," "I Am the Community," "I Am an Athlete," and "I Am the Future." Each phase features a range of daily changing activities that align with participants' interests and mental and physical needs. Ongoing field programmes Al Dhaid Club continues its field programs under "Our Holiday is Different," organizing more visits, workshops, and community initiatives that strengthen youth connections to concepts of belonging, teamwork, and national identity in a safe and productive summer environment. Engaging experiences during the visit During the visit, participants aged 7 to 17 explored live models of research projects and advanced technological facilities. The tour included various sections such as the Environmental Innovation Zone, smart warehouses, and software development laboratories. They also attended demonstrations on supporting young entrepreneurs, adopting startup projects, and empowering researchers and innovators to turn their ideas into practical applications. Interactive demonstrations Participants enjoyed interactive demonstrations on sustainable energy, smart buildings, robotics, and virtual and augmented reality, leaving a significant impression on them. The management of the park ensured that explanations were delivered in a simplified manner suitable for the target age group, encouraging questions and active participation in discussions. Commitment to technological awareness Saeed bin Daloon Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee at Al Dhaid Club, emphasised that organising this visit aligns with the summer programme's objectives of building a generation with technological awareness, critical thinking skills, creativity, and initiative. He stated, 'We have ensured that our summer program includes educational and experiential stations that motivate participants to discover their scientific inclinations and open new horizons for understanding the role of technology in sustainable development. The visit to the Sharjah Research Park represents a living model of the innovative environment we want our children to engage with and draw inspiration from for the future.' A Diverse and comprehensive programme Al Ketbi added that this year's summer program stands out for its diverse segments and integrated themes that combine sports, leadership, arts, sciences, technology, and community, aligning with the aspirations of the Sharjah Sports Council and its strong support for summer activities that create a stimulating and safe environment for youth development.
