Kuwait grants lifetime citizenship to disabled children of Kuwaiti women
KUWAIT CITY, July 21: In a significant move reinforcing the rights of individuals with disabilities and acknowledging the status of children born to Kuwaiti women, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef has issued eight ministerial decisions granting lifetime treatment as Kuwaiti citizens to a group of disabled children born to Kuwaiti mothers. The decisions are in line with Article 3 of Law No. 8 of 2010, which affirms the rights of persons with disabilities and supports their integration and protection within society. In a parallel step, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Ali Al-Adwani, issued two additional decisions to treat several minor children of Kuwaiti women as Kuwaiti citizens until they reach adulthood. These decisions highlight the government's ongoing efforts to address the humanitarian and legal concerns of families headed by Kuwaiti women, particularly in cases involving children with disabilities or minors in need of state support. The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to upholding the principles of equality and social justice, especially for vulnerable groups, within the framework of national laws and international conventions.

KUWAIT CITY, July 16: The Kuwait Visa Portal is the official electronic platform launched by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait. It allows individuals to apply for different types of eVisas, track application status, verify visa information, and access other immigration-related services. The Ministry of Interior announced this morning the launch of the 'Kuwait Visa' platform, following the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, and under the supervision of the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Ali Al-Adwani. The platform is designed for individuals wishing to visit Kuwait under the legally approved tourist, commercial, family, and government visit visas, in accordance with the legal regulations of the Ministry of Interior and the requirements issued by the General Department of Residency Affairs. The Ministry stated that the visa types available on the platform include tourist, family, commercial, and government visas, along with details on the eligible beneficiaries and duration of stay for each: Tourist Visa The platform issues tourist visas to individuals who wish to visit Kuwait for tourism and leisure purposes. Eligible Applicants: Individuals Duration of Stay: Up to three months from the date of entry Commercial Visa The platform also provides commercial visit visas for individuals traveling to Kuwait for business purposes, such as attending meetings, conferences, or establishing partnerships with local companies. Eligible Applicant s: Local companies hosting businesspersons, organizing meetings, or conducting contract signings This includes businesspeople, representatives of foreign companies and institutions, major companies, and hotels. Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Family Visit Visa Family visit visas are issued to individuals who wish to visit family members residing in Kuwait for family gatherings or social occasions. Eligible Applicants: Relatives of residents. The application must be submitted by a family member residing in Kuwait. Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Government Visit Visa This visa is issued to government officials visiting Kuwait for official purposes, such as participating in international conferences or bilateral governmental meetings. Eligible Applicants: Government entities Duration of Stay: Up to one month from the date of entry Security and Legal Requirements The Ministry emphasized that all visit visas are subject to security screening and require all supporting documents from both the visitor and the sponsor whether individuals, companies, or government entities. This includes documentation specific to tourist visits. The Ministry warned that violations of visa conditions, including exceeding the allowed duration of stay or misusing the visa purpose, will be met with strict legal penalties.
