BRS questions BJP's silence on encroachment of Bhadradri lands in A.P.
HYDERABAD
Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao criticised State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) N. Ramachander Rao for his silence on the encroachment of 889 acres of Bhadrachalam temple lands in the villages transferred from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh within a month of formation of the State in 2014.
He sought to know whether Mr. Ramchander Rao had no time to react to the encroachment of temple lands in A.P. or keeping quiet only to protect political interests in the neighbouring State. Mr. Rama Rao suggested the BJP leader to keep aside the political alliances and protect the temple lands at least by ensuring the implementation of High Court orders.
In a statement, the BRS leader sought to know whether Telangana BJP was keeping quiet as the lands were in the confinement of the party alliance partner there or it was part of a plan to hand over Bhadradri as a whole.
Engineers Day
Meanwhile, Mr. Rama Rao paid rich tributes to Nawab Ali Nawaz Jung, a legendary engineer who designed projects such as Osman Sagar, Himayat Sagar, Nizam Sagar, Dindi, Koil Sagar, Kaddam, Pochampad, Lower Manair as also iconic structures such as Osmania University Arts College, Afzalgunj State Central Library, Osmania Hospital and others on his birth anniversary.
Separately, former minister for irrigation T. Harish Rao said Ali Nawaz Jung was among the great engineers such as Sir Arthur Cotton, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, K.L. Rao and others. He stated that the BRS government in the past had declared Ali Nawaz Jung's birthday as the Telangana Engineers Day.
