The MSI Claw A8 is now available to pre-order in Europe — when is it coming to North America?

The MSI Claw A8 is now available to pre-order in Europe. That's significant since this is the first time that the new gaming handheld is available to markets outside of China. Although we don't yet have a North American release date, this news gives us hope in the States that we'll see MSI's machine arrive on our shores soon. Per VideoCardz reports, European vendors like Alza and currently have the MSI Claw A8 priced at €975 and €978 (respectively). This is slightly less than the current MSI Claw 8 AI+, which retails for $999. Austria, Germany and Slovakia are the first European countries that can pre-order MSI's new handheld, though none of the aforementioned retailers say when the Claw A8 will start shipping. As we've reported, the MSI Claw A8 will be the first gaming handheld to utilize an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. This could make it one of the most powerful Windows 11 handhelds yet. On top of that, the Claw A8 features a more ergonomic design and even comes in a bold new Neon Green color. It has all of that with the same 80Wh battery, up to 24GB of RAM and an 8-inch 1080p 120Hz display. In his MSI Claw A8 hands-on preview, Jason England said he was floored by the handheld's gaming performance. When playing Lies of P on his Asus ROG Ally, he sets the game to medium graphical settings and turns on resolution scaling to achieve 60 frames per second. With these same settings, Lies of P ran at an astonishing 100 fps. We'd need to get the handheld into our lab for formal testing, but Jason's experience bodes well for the handheld. I was disappointed with the original MSI Claw 7, but the company made a big improvement with the MSI Claw 8+ AI. Now that MSI is using an AMD chip for the Claw A8, we could see the strongest Steam Deck competitor yet. As for North American pricing, I wouldn't be surprised if the MSI Claw 8 costs $999 like the Claw 8 AI+. A lower price would be better, but given its updated specs and the ongoing uncertainty with US tariffs, I'm not sure MSI can drop the price much lower. I hope I'm wrong about that, but we'll hopefully hear about a North American release soon. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

This LinkedIn cold-outreach template helped job seekers land roles at companies like Amazon and Airbnb

If you're on the job hunt, you're likely tired of being told that you have to network. Sending out dozens of applications can be an ego check on its own. And flooding strangers' inboxes or LinkedIn DMs to ask for a job referral can feel downright degrading. The bad news is that networking is still one of the most reliable ways to find a new role, especially as so many people are job hunting and as AI continues to automate parts of the process. The good news is that it doesn't have to feel so agonizing. Albana Gega, founder of tech career-coaching platform Alza, told Business Insider that he refers to networking as "prospecting at scale," and thinks of networking chats like a sales call. As a coach who has successfully placed clients at companies like Amazon, Klarna, and Airbnb, he said the goal is to boost the job seeker's visibility as a valuable asset, rather than depending solely on a résumé. While many job seekers reach out to recruiters or hiring managers, Gega said that they should aim to target people in adjacent positions to the role they want. It's what Gega refers to as "lateral networking," and he said it gives job seekers a better chance at getting referrals, insider information, and early interview invitations. Gega's three-part LinkedIn template Message 1: The Hook: Hey [Name], you're at [Company]? Why it works: It's under 40 characters. It's a question that triggers a natural "yeah, what's up?" response. It doesn't ask for anything — just opens a door. Mention something specific here if you can, like a product launch or a recent post. If you have common ground like school, industry, or mutuals, work that in casually. Message 3: Light Intent And A Friendly Ask: Honestly, one reason I reached out, I'm lightly exploring new roles and [Company] is on my shortlist. Been chatting with a few folks just to get a feel before diving into apps or interviews. Would it be cool if I asked a couple quick questions? Totally fine to keep it here or hop on a 20-min Zoom, whatever's easier. Why it works: It's non-pushy and honest. You position them as the expert and it gives them two easy options. Common Hooks to Try: Use these to vary your openers: You're at [Company]? Mutuals with [Name]—small world? Saw your post on [Topic], super helpful. How's it going on the [team or role or project]? Next steps for job seekers If the person agrees to take a networking call, Gega advises his clients to start with light conversation, thank them for the call, and give a genuine compliment. Then, job seekers should ask two to three questions, such as inquiring about their favorite part of working at the company. They should end the call with a "soft ask" about anyone else they think they should chat with while they're exploring things, Gega said. In general, Gega said that the strategy has nuance and that "less is a lot more." Job seekers should never inundate anyone with requests, says Gega. "The same rules that maybe apply offline should apply online," Gega said. "You never go to somebody and spam them."

6 still warded more than 2 weeks after Gerik bus crash

IPOH: Three Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris students are still receiving treatment at hospitals more than two weeks after the tragic bus crash in Gerik. Besides the trio, three passengers of the Perodua Alza also involved in the crash are still warded. Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said two students are being treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB), while one is at Taiping Hospital. He said Lili Suzana Mat Ya'acob, 23, and Nor Erika Elysha Mohd Zaidi, 21, are being treated at HRPB, while Nur Liyana Zainudin, 23, is receiving treatment at Taiping Hospital. "Besides the three students, the family in the Perodua Alza involved in the tragic accident is also receiving treatment in Kedah," he said when contacted. He added that the Perodua Alza passengers — Nurul Ain Zakaria, 36, and her two children, Nur Aisyah Nafisah Mohd Lutfi, 6, and 3-year-old Muhammad Ahsan Nafis — are being treated at Baling Hospital. On June 9, a bus carrying 42 UPSI students was travelling from Jertih, Terengganu, to the university's main campus when it collided with the Alza at Km53 of the East-West Highway. Thirteen students died at the scene while two others were pronounced dead in hospital. On Friday, the 39-year-old driver of the bus, Mohd Amirul Fadhil Zulkifli, pleaded not guilty at the Gerik magistrate's court to a charge of dangerous driving resulting in the deaths of 15 students. On Saturday, it was announced that a preliminary investigation into the Gerik crash found no evidence of brake failure or mechanical malfunction. Transport Minister Anthony Loke had said an initial technical report by Puspakom confirmed that all brake components including the linings and drums on each axle were in good condition.
