Land registration freeze continues over ‘tampered' records in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: The state govt is virtually left clueless to resolve the contentious free-hold lands issue. The registration of about 20 lakh acres of assigned lands has been put on hold on the suspicion of tampering of records. Although, the govt conducted village level revenue meetings to screen the land records, it could not resolve the free-hold lands issue in the last one year. Several lakhs of farmers have been struggling to sell their lands as the govt is delaying the decision to lift the ban on registration of the lands entered into the prohibitory lands register. The state govt has even appointed a Group of Ministers (GoM) to study the issue after the senior officials failed to come up with a solution. Surprisingly, the GoM too could not ready the roadmap to unlock the controversy even after holding several meetings. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "We are hopeful of finding a solution by October. It is taking time as the govt wanted to prevent irregularities in transfer of assigned lands to the influential people. We wanted to protect the rights of the genuine landlords as well as the govt property," said revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad. A large number of farmers and eligible assignees, thought that the govt will free up the freeze orders at least to the extent which were not on the suspicion list. Giving a shocker to the original assignees, the govt has extended the ban by another three months in the guise of further verification of records. "The govt looks keen to hand over the lands of the poor to landlords and corporates with such delay tactics. We demand that an all-party meeting be held immediately to formulate a comprehensive policy on the land issue," CPM state secretary V Srinivasa Rao. He explained that successive govts have stated that approximately 32 lakh acres of surplus land were distributed to the poor since 1970. However, previous govt declared that around 15 lakh acres were encroached upon by influential persons. "Before elections, Naidu had promised to take the assigned lands from the ineligible people back and given to genuine beneficiaries. Not even an acre was distributed besides resolution of the existing 22-A controversy," said Srinivasa Rao.

Keep Tirupati on top across sectors: Revenue Minister
Tirupati: Minister for Revenue, Registrations, and Stamps and Tirupati district in-charge Minister Anagani Satya Prasad announced that, for the first time in Andhra Pradesh's history, district and constituency-level Vision Development Plans are being prepared. Addressing a high-level meeting at the Tirupati District Collectorate on Monday, the Minister detailed the government's efforts under Swarna Andhra Vision–2047 initiative. The meeting focused on District Vision Action Plan Unit (DVAPU) and the innovative P4 model — People, Public, Private Partnership — aimed at fostering inclusive growth. Satya Prasad said meticulous planning is underway for each district and constituency, with collectors presenting detailed frameworks. Dedicated offices and five-member teams have been established in every assembly constituency to support the implementation. The development plans aim to identify and leverage opportunities in agriculture, industry, and services. He called on public representatives and officials to collaborate and make Tirupati a leader across all sectors. Highlighting the P4 model, he said the approach is intended to reduce inequality and support economically disadvantaged communities. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's vision, he said, is to eliminate poverty in the state by 2029 through strategic programs and partnerships. Speaking to the media later, the Minister said Tirupati's per capita income in 2023–24 stood at Rs 3,08,176, placing it fourth in the State. He added that officials are now working with a clear action plan to elevate the district to the top rank. Liaison workers will be appointed in every constituency, and a Zoom meeting will soon be held with industry stakeholders to mobilise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for district-wide development. He recalled the Chief Minister's recent visit to Kuppam, where discussions with mango pulp manufacturers and farmers reaffirmed the government's commitment to agriculture. He also noted that paddy was procured from farmers, underscoring the pro-farmer stance of the government. In contrast, he criticised opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tours, calling them disruptive and misleading. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar stated that the DVAPUs are transforming the development blueprint of the district. Tirupati now ranks third in Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) and fourth in per capita income. A recent P4 survey identified 80,331 low-income families as 'Bangaru Kutumbalu', and guidelines have been issued to promote their adoption by mentors through coordination with municipal commissioners and MPDOs. Several MLAs and officials, including Bojjala Sudheer Reddy (Srikalahasti), P Sunil Kumar (Gudur), K Adimulam (Satyavedu), Arani Srinivasulu (Tirupati), Pulivarthi Nani (Chandragiri), TUDA Chairman C Diwakar Reddy, and Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation Chairperson M Sugunamma also spoke. Joint Collector Shubham Bansal, Tirupati Corporation Commissioner N Mourya, Trainee Collector Sandeep Raghuvanshi, and others were present.

He participated in the party's mass outreach initiative 'Suparipalana lo Tholi Adugu' in Satyavedu on Monday. Praising Reddy for his tireless efforts over the years, the minister urged all constituency leaders to stand united in support of him. 'Sankar Reddy has worked hard day and night for the party. It's time for all of us to rally behind him. Every leader and activist should work together to make this outreach programme a grand success,' said Satya Prasad. He also assured party workers that those who contribute significantly to the success of the 'Intintiki Telugu Desam' campaign will be recognised and rewarded with party positions within the constituency. Reflecting on the party's past achievements, the minister stated that it was under N Chandrababu Naidu's leadership between 2014 and 2019 that the state began recovering from the hardships of bifurcation. 'Chandrababu laid the foundation for rebuilding the state. But Jagan Reddy destroyed those foundations and pushed the state back by 40 years,' he said. Satya Prasad expressed confidence that the alliance of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is now rebuilding Andhra Pradesh. He urged party members to approach people proudly, asserting that all the promises made during the election have been fulfilled. Party district president G Narasimha Yadav, former MLA Hemalatha, and several other leaders also took part.

BC meet in Tirupati highlights NDA's inclusive governance
TIRUPATI: At the 'BC Self-Respect Meet' in Tirupati on Sunday, Ministers Anagani Satya Prasad, Y Satya Kumar, and S Savita emphasised the pivotal role of Backward Classes (BC) in society and governance. Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad said, 'BCs are not just a vote bank but the strength and consciousness of society,' crediting PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for proving BC leadership through governance. He said, 'Critical portfolios are in the hands of capable BC leaders, with welfare schemes prioritising BC families at the centre of development.' Satya Prasad said the alliance government prioritised BC welfare by assigning key portfolios to BC leaders, unlike the YSRCP regime which, he alleged, disrespected BCs. He affirmed that current policies place BC families at the core of development. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav highlighted the national caste census, driven by Naidu and Modi, stating, 'Accurate data will lead to targeted welfare and policy decisions for BCs.' He said, 'When BC ministers were removed, no action was taken; leaders like Anil Kumar Yadav stayed silent.' Yadav stressed the need for a national caste census to ensure accurate data for targeted welfare schemes.
