Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation employee suspended for forging signature of ex-MD and senior officials
Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has suspended an employee for allegedly forging the signature of former managing director Anbu Kumar and other senior officials, who are heading mechanical and operation departments. The suspended employee has been identified as Richard J, a junior assistant in the accounts department at KSRTC's central office. He allegedly created forged documents promising transfer and reappointment of employees and in return, collected money from them. According to KSRTC, Richard deceived Nagarajappa, an assistant artisan from the Shivamogga division, by assuring him of a transfer to Davanagere division. He also allegedly took money from Nagaraj N A, a dismissed driver, promising reinstatement. In addition, Richard duped his friend Chandrhasa S Achari, a driver from the Kundapura depot, by offering a fake transfer to Shivamogga. Upon verification, officials informed him that such orders are never sent via WhatsApp, but only through email or post. A closer inspection confirmed the order was fake and the same thing was brought to the notice of higher-ups." The forged documents were allegedly backdated to July 4, by which time Anbu Kumar was already transferred from KSRTC to serve as the chief electoral officer of Karnataka. Richard has been suspended following instructions from the transport minister Ramalinga Reddy, and a detailed investigation is underway.

Officials told to report seed shortages in advance
Mandya: District in-charge secretary Anbu Kumar directed agriculture officials to report any shortages of sowing seeds and fertilisers at least one month in advance to ensure timely procurement and distribution. Highlighting the district's rainfall data, he said while Mandya typically receives 150.2mm of rainfall during this season, it already received 260.1mm between March and May 28. Control rooms have been established at both district and taluk levels. Providing an overview of crop insurance coverage, the secretary said between 2019 and 2024, a total of 3,33,988 applications were submitted, and compensation totalling Rs 8,327.7 lakh was disbursed to 1,93,780 beneficiaries.
