FC Barcelona, Champions League Rival Reach Transfer ‘Total Agreement'

More with regards to the transfer of Ansu Fati according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources. FC Barcelona and its Champions League rival last season, AS Monaco, have reached a 'total agreement' with regards to the transfer of Ansu Fati according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources. On the day that Mundo Deportivo reported that Lamine Yamal will be taking his number 10 shirt next month, his fellow La Masia product Ansu looks set for a switch to Ligue 1 which will be announced in the next few hours on Friday or by Monday at the latest. Ansu was the Lamine of his generation at the turn of the last decade, and likewise smashed a number of youngest goalscorer and appearance maker records on his way to a bumper contract extension in 2021 which also saw him handed Lionel Messi's iconic jersey when the Argentine joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free contract. Cruel injuries have mostly dictated the trajectory of his career in the past few years, however, with an unflattering spell on loan at Brighton in the Premier League unable to launch his career. In 2024/2025, it looked as though he might be able to convince then-new head coach Hansi Flick of his worth. Ansu impressed the German in preseason training, but then picked up an ankle knock which again knocked his progress back. As Raphinha locked down the left wing spot, Ansu was frozen out and also struggled when deployed in a central 9 role whenever Robert Lewandowski was given a rare rest. While Barca wrapped up a treble-winning season, there was already talk of Ansu moving to Monaco which then cooled down. In recent days towards the end of June, however, reports have reignited with SPORT now explaining there is a 'total agreement' between the two clubs in question. Ansu has already undergone a medical with Monaco, and will renew his contract at Barca until 2028 as already reported on earlier this week. Working out how much of Ansu's usual salary his new employers in 2025/2026 was previously a sticking point, but that has reportedly been ironed out as well as how much his purchase option will be and buy back clause for Barca if Monaco decides to make the loan deal permanent. Monaco coach was key to convincing Ansu of latest FC Barcelona exit According to SPORT, Monaco head coach Addi Hutter was key to convincing Ansu that his club is the best stop for his latest FC Barcelona exit. Hopefully in the French top flight, Ansu can return to his explosive best and recover his confidence.

FC Barcelona First Team Star Will Renew Then Leave Club
An FC Barcelona first team star will renew his contract and then leave the club according to Catalan ... More radio programme Què t'hi jugues, which cited anonymous sources. An FC Barcelona first team star will renew his contract and then leave the club according to Catalan radio programme Què t'hi jugues, which cited anonymous sources. Ansu Fati was the Lamine Yamal of the late 2010s, and as a 16-year-old smashed a number of top goalscoring and appearance maker records for club and country. In 2021, he was handed Lionel Messi's number 10 shirt when the Argentine left on a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, such was his status as the widely-considered future of the club. Cruel injuries then halted the former Spain international's progress, however, and he had to leave his boyhood club for Brighton on loan in 2023/2024 in search of more minutes. On his return to Barca last summer, he initially impressed then-new head coach Hansi Flick but picked up an ankle knock which once more halted his trajectory. Ansu then spent the rest of a treble-winning campaign being used sporadically, and he's once more being linked with a move away from FC Barcelona to Monaco. Reports on that topic first started circulating in late May but appeared to have cooled off. This week, however, outlets such as Què t'hi jugues report that the wheels are once more in motion with Ansu on the brink of joining Paul Pogba in Monaco. The Catalan-language radio programme explained that Ansu will join the Ligue 1 outfit on loan with a purchase option of $12.8 million (€11 million) while Barca would have a buyback clause themselves of $32.5 million (€28 million) should Ansu show signs of his old self in France. To avoid him running it down and joining another club on a free the season after next, however, Barca will reportedly seek to extend the La Masia product's contract until June 30, 2028 whereas it is currently set to expire 12 months before said date. After presumably passing a medical at Monaco on June 28th, Fati should join up with his new team on July 1 for the start of its preseason preparations. Ansu Fati has no clear path to starting at FC Barcelona With FC Barcelona pursuing Nico Williams and reportedly agreeing terms with the Euro 2024 champion, moving on is probably the best outcome for Ansu given he has never appeared to be in Flick's primary plans.

Barcelona still waiting for official offer after verbal agreement for transfer of 22-year-old star
Barcelona still waiting for official offer after verbal agreement for transfer of 22-year-old star Barcelona are currently in a waiting phase regarding Ansu Fati's loan move to AS Monaco, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo. While all parties, including the player, Barcelona, and the Ligue 1 club, are in complete agreement on the future of the 22-year-old forward, the deal has not yet been formalised in writing. Advertisement Despite a verbal agreement being in place, Monaco have yet to send an official written proposal detailing the terms of the loan. Until that arrives, Barcelona are taking a cautious but patient approach. The Catalan club want everything that has been verbally settled to be fully reflected in a formal offer, including the structure of the loan and the details of a purchase option. Everything seems to be on track This potential loan move is considered crucial for Ansu's career. After a difficult stint, the young forward is looking for a more suitable environment to rediscover his best form. Ansu Fati is set to move to AS Monaco. (Photo by) Monaco seem aligned with that goal, and Ansu himself reportedly sees the move favourably, especially because the French club are willing to include a purchase option. Advertisement That is a key difference from his Brighton spell, where the Premier League club had no option to buy and therefore little long-term investment in his development. Barcelona are dealing with caution From Barcelona's perspective, including a future financial benefit is part of the plan. This means should Monaco sign Ansu permanently and later sell him, Barça intend to retain a percentage of a future transfer fee, ensuring they remain involved in the player's career trajectory even if he doesn't return to Camp Nou. In essence, the Blaugrana are waiting for the final paperwork before making the move official. The feeling within the club is optimistic, especially with Monaco offering a more stable and tactically suited environment than Ansu experienced in England.

Chelsea table offer for exit-bound Barcelona academy graduate
Barcelona's plans to offload Ansu Fati this summer have taken a new twist, with journalist Helena Condis reporting that Chelsea have now submitted an offer for the 22-year-old forward. The English giants join AS Monaco, who have been in advanced talks with the Catalan club for weeks over a potential move. Advertisement Ansu's departure from Barcelona has appeared inevitable for some time, as Barcelona have completely lost patience. Sporting reasons aside, his significant salary, combined with a contract running until 2027, has become a burden for the club, particularly given its well-documented financial struggles. Chelsea complicating the deal Until now, AS Monaco looked like the frontrunners to secure his services. Negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly ongoing over a loan deal that includes an option to buy and a future sell-on clause for Barcelona. From the player's side, an agreement was said to be close, with Ansu reportedly giving the green light to the move. Ansu Fati has an offer from Chelsea. (Photo by) However, the entry of Chelsea has added an unexpected twist. The London-based club could provide a more attractive financial package both to Barcelona and the player. Advertisement While Monaco may still lead the race, Chelsea's involvement could significantly drive up the value of the deal or force a change of direction altogether. Mendes to speed things up Ansu's agent, Jorge Mendes, is now set to travel to Barcelona to hold face-to-face talks with his client and club officials. He will reportedly address several topics during his visit, but Ansu's future will be at the top of the agenda. For Barcelona, this could be a decisive moment. The club is desperate to offload Ansu not only to relieve pressure on the wage bill, but also to avoid the risk of further devaluation of a player they once considered untouchable. Yet, his long-term contract means Barça are not in a position to dictate terms easily. The club needs both the player's approval and favourable conditions from potential buyers.

Watch: Barcelona star furiously lashes out on bench after not being brought on vs Celta Vigo Watch: Barcelona star furiously lashes out on bench after not being brought on vs Celta Vigo An out-of-favour member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could not hide his disappointment, after being left on the bench for the duration of the club's latest outing on Saturday. The player in question? Ansu Fati. Advertisement Barcelona were of course back in action earlier today, welcoming the aforementioned Celta to Catalunya's capital for a league clash. When all was said and done, despite at one point having trailed by three goals to one, the Blaugrana emerged triumphant, owing to an explosive 2nd-half comeback. Forced to watch on from the sideline as his teammates took another step towards La Liga glory, though, was the aforementioned Ansu Fati. Wide-man Ansu was sent out to warm up during the 2nd-half at Montjuïc on Saturday, evidently keen to contribute towards the hosts' comeback efforts. In the end, however, he was not called upon by boss Hansi Flick to take to the pitch.
