When an officer from Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office spotted a dog running on a main road, he pulled over to see if he could help. But he wasn't prepared for what the pup did next. Lieutenant Richard Anselmi was waiting at a stoplight when he saw a lone dog bolt across E. Arapahoe Road near S. Dayton Street in Colorado. Body footage shows the moment Anselmi opened his car door and gently greeted the canine: "How you doing? Oh, you're a friendly boy …" Before the sentence is even finished, the uncollared dog makes his move—climbing straight into the patrol car and settling into the driver's seat, tail wagging and clearly at ease. "The pup jumped right into the driver's seat of his patrol car," Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said in a post on Facebook. Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office In the video, Anselmi gently explains to the pup that he can't sit in the driver's seat. "Well, I gotta drive, though," he said. "Can you scooch? I gotta drive." Eventually, after some coaxing—and a little slobber left on the driver's seat—the dog moved to the passenger side. With no collar, local animal services stepped in and helped to find where the pup had come from. On Facebook, the Sheriff's Office said: "Turns out Bossco got out of his yard and decided to go for a walk." In 2012, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) did a study on lost pets in the U.S. and found that, of over 1,000 pet-owning households, 15 percent had lost a dog or cat in the last five years. Of these, 85 percent were reunited with their pets, including 93 percent of dogs and 74 percent of lost cats. Thankfully, it wasn't long before Bossco was back home, but the encounter caught on camera has delighted viewers online. In comments on Facebook, people shared their reactions. Viewer Sara Dees said: "He said you're here to protect and serve me. Let's hit Starbucks now for a pup cup." Morgan Van Akin posted: "He always dreamed of being a police doggo and this was his chance lol [laugh out loud]." "He's like Uber for Mr. Woof?" commented Megan Rugh, while Facebook user Tracey Renee Davis wrote: "He said hey I'm your new partner, I'm driving!" 3,000 newly released Nintendo Switch 2 consoles swiped in heist, CO cops say

Deputies in Colorado are asking for help getting to the bottom of 'a high-dollar cargo heist' involving a sought-after video game system. A truck driver reported June 8 that multiple pallets containing Nintendo Switch 2 consoles were swiped from his trailer, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said in a June 17 post on Facebook. The driver was at a truck stop in Bennett when he realized the consoles were gone, deputies said. Investigators don't know if they were taken in Bennett or at another point on his route, according to deputies. The driver was on his way from a Nintendo location in Washington to a retailer in Texas, deputies said. A total of 2,810 consoles were taken, worth more than $1.4 million, according to deputies. The Switch 2, which debuted June 5, is Nintendo's fastest-selling system, according to a June 11 Nintendo news release. McClatchy News reached out to the company June 18 about the theft and was awaiting a response. Deputies said those responsible for the heist 'could face charges of felony theft valued at $1 million or more, as well as criminal mischief.' Bennett is about a 40-mile drive west from Denver.

Nearly 3,000 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles stolen in heist

Nearly 3,000 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles stolen in heist Authorities in Colorado are investigating a heist where an estimated $1.4 million worth of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles was stolen from a cargo truck. According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a rest stop in Bennett, approximately 37 miles from Denver, on June 8. The semi-truck driver informed the deputies that he had just discovered someone had broken into the vehicle during the pre-trip inspection. Photos posted on the sheriff's office Facebook page show items missing from the cargo truck. It's unclear whether the crime happened in Bennett or another location. Robbery: $100M in diamonds, Rolex watches, emeralds stolen in 'largest jewelry heist in US history' Nearly 3,000 game consoles were taken from the truck According to the sheriff's office, 2,810 new Nintendo Switch 2 game consoles were taken from the truck. The game system, considered the "fastest selling" console for Nintendo, launched on June 5. The Nintendo Switch 2 with the Mario Kart World bundle is listed as $499.99 on GameStop's website. The driver told law enforcement, "he did not know what was in the trailer, only that it was games or toys," per authorities. He departed from Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington, and was headed to a Gampstop in Grapevine, Texas. The suspects could face charges for criminal mischief and felony theft valued at $1 million or more, according to authorities. As of June 17, no arrests have been made. Someone Stole 2,800 Nintendo Switch 2 Consoles Worth Over $1 Million

It's hard to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 no matter where you live in the United States, but if you live in a specific part of Texas, you may be finding it harder than others because thieves stole a big portion of the stock. Earlier this month, thieves stole 2,810 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles from a semi-truck on its way to a GameStop store in Grapevine, Texas. The theft was reported on the morning of June 8 when the truck stopped in Colorado. This must have been a restock of the Switch 2 as it originally went on sale on June 5. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office shared the news alongside a photograph of the back of the ransacked truck. The driver has said he didn't know exactly what was in the truck, and it has since been confirmed it was full of pallets of the new games console. The Nintendo Switch 2 sells for $449.99, and the bundle with Mario Kart World included costs $499.99. That means the value of this robbery was somewhere between $1,250,000 and $1,400,000, depending on how many Mario Kart World bundles were included. Many retailers have been receiving a 50/50 split between Mario Kart World bundles and the standard version of the console, so it's likely to be valued somewhere over $1.3 million. The police are looking for information about this robbery and they're asking anyone with information to share tips to 720-874-8477. If you're looking to buy a Nintendo Switch 2, be sure to read our full review. In PCMag's review of the console, we said, 'With the exception of shorter battery life, the Nintendo Switch 2 improves upon the original in nearly every way, with a bigger screen, sharper graphics, and smarter Joy-Con controllers.'
