Three Udasin Akharas form new parishad to maintain unity, exerting influence
Prayagraj: In an important decision, three akharas of the Udasin sect-- Shripanchayat Akhara Bada Udasin Nirvana, Shripanchayat Naya Udasin Akhara and Shripanchayat Akhara Nirmal-- have collectively formed Udasin Nirmal Parishad to resolve mutual disputes and increase its influence. The new parishad hold significance as Ardh Kumbh in Haridwar and Kumbh Mela in Nashik are set to be held in 2027 followed by Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Ujjain in 2028. The new parishad will have bearing on the functioning of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad—the apex decision-making body of the 13 monastic orders of Hindus—that plays an important role in Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh and Maha Kumbh. Sources said the new parishad is sure to have an impact on ABAP as whichever side the three akharas join will have an upper hand. Sources said Jagatar Muni, secretary of Naya Udasin Akhara, was made the president of the council. Mahant Durga Das, head of Bada Udasin, was appointed the secretary, and Nirmal Akhara's secretary, Devendra Singh Shastri, was made the treasurer. The council will meet in Prayagraj in July during which representatives of the three akharas will discuss the expansion of the council as well as joining or extending support to particular faction of the ABAP. We will remain united so that the saints of the Udasin sect are not neglected," said Mahant Durga Das, secretary of the new parishad. The move comes months after akharas of Vaishnav sect formed the All India Vaishnav Parishad during the Maha Kumbh-2025, appointing Shrimahant Rajendra Das as its president, who is also the head of Nirmohi Ani Akhara. Sources said at a time when ABAP and akharas have started preparations for the Ardh Kumbh and Kumbh, the one who has the majority will get importance. The akhara parishad saw a vertical split after the death of the then president Mahant Narendra Giri on Sep 20, 2021. The president of one faction is Shrimahant Ravindra Puri, secretary of Srimahanirvani Akhara and the other faction is headed by Shrimahant Ravindra Puri, secretary of Sri Niranjani Akhara and president of Maa Mansa Devi Temple Trust. Atal, Nirmal, Nirmohi Ani, Nirvani Ani and Digambar Ani Akharas are with the Mahanirvani faction. Funds sanctioned to resolve sewage overflow in Civil Lines
Kanpur: The Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Thursday sanctioned a sum of Rs 92.24 lakh to UP Jal Nigam (Rural) to resolve the issue persistent sewage water logging near Amba Nursing Home in Civil Lines area. The problem reportedly originated nearly four years ago when I&D project of nullahs under the Namami Gange Mission was implemented. Since then, sewer chambers have consistently overflowed in the area resulting in frequent water logging in Civil Lines as well as on VIP Road. Mayor Pramila Pandey told reporters that a team of Jalkal engineers visited the site to examine the situation. It was observed that a 1,600 mm diameter rising line had been divided into two lines of 800 mm diameter each, and later recombined into a 1,600 mm diameter rising line leading to reduced flow in the system. The UP Jal Nigam (Rural) work agency stated that the original 1,600 mm diameter line was laid under JNNURM and that the Muir Mill nullah was not crossed near Amba Nursing Home. In 2019, during Ardh Kumbh, the line was connected to two pipelines of 800 mm and one of 450 mm diameter. These three pipelines are insufficient to handle the pressure of the sewer flow during peak hours, resulting in overflow in the Civil Lines area. The engineers concluded that the only viable solution was to lay a 1,600 mm diameter RCC pipeline, estimated to cost around Rs 92.24 lakh. Based on this assessment and after discussions with officials, it was decided to allocate the sanctioned amount to the UP Jal Nigam (Rural). As the chairman of the Committee of the 15th Commission, Mayor Pramila Pandey sanctioned the funds and instructed UP Jal Nigam (Rural) to commence the work without delay.

A big example of the same is Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani and Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan's debut film Azaad. However, when Azaad arrived on OTT giving a larger section of the audience access to the film, it won hearts and received rave reviews. Aaman then taunts her and asks her to go race in the Ardh Kumbh. Hearing this, Rasha reminds him that women and the poor are not allowed to take part in the race, as they are not considered equals. Aaman jokes that in this case they are very similar and agrees, suggesting the lake outside the village as their meeting point. Rasha and Aaman's diction and command over Hindi is quite impressive in this clip.
