Uttar Pradesh to set up 2,700 smart classrooms, 1,780 already operational
The Uttar Pradesh government is giving a major push to digital education in urban areas by setting up thousands of smart classrooms in government schools. As part of this effort, the Urban Development Department is developing over 2,700 technology-enabled classrooms aimed at improving learning experiences and access for students, especially those from low-income of now, about 1,780 of these classrooms have already been completed and are in department said this initiative is helping students from economically weaker backgrounds gain access to modern, tech-based education, leading to a steady rise in school enrolments. The majority of these -- ?1,183 classrooms -- ?have been developed under the Smart City Mission at a sanctioned cost of Rs 160.83 crore, of which 1,088 classrooms are fully functional. Additionally, under the 'Kayakalp' initiative, around 190 smart classrooms have been established with an investment of Rs 57.66 crore, it said.
