Lahad Datu break-in: Two arrested

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said both suspects were detained at 7pm on Monday at Jalan Dahlia. The arrest followed a report by a 62-year-old who discovered that his house door had been forced open and one unit of air conditioning and a fan were missing from his house. A 41-year-old local and a 36-year-old foreigner were detained in connection to the case. Dzulbaharin said the local was found to have three previous criminal records, and some equipment believed used to commit the crime were also seized. Three civil servants among 5 held in Lahad Datu raid

LAHAD DATU: Five men, including three civil servants, were arrested with drugs, Ketum juice, cough syrup and weapons during a raid on a house in Taman Harapan, Jalan Silam, on Monday. Lahad Datu District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the raid by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters (IPD) uncovered 0.14gm of syabu, 224 litres of Ketum juice and 8.2 litres of cough syrup. The team also seized a Samurai sword and six machetes. 'One of the five men, aged 24 to 38, tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. 'All the suspects are currently remanded for further investigations,' said Dzulbaharin. According to him, the seizures were worth RM11,655.40. Syabu: Duo get 7 years, 10 lashes

LAHAD DATU: Two men were sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered given 10 strokes of the cane, respectively by the Sessions Court, here, on Monday. Judge Suhaila Selag imposed the sentence to Adahar Zaini, 38-year-old local, and Hendrikus Herman, 28-year-old Indonesian, after they pleaded guilty to the charge against them. Adahar and Hendrikus were charged with having 32.63 grammes of syabu on March 22 by the roadside of Kampung Panji. Both of the accused were originally charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 at Magistrate's Court on April 3. However, the charge was amended to Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 after the chemist's report obtained the actual weight of the drugs. Five held in LD raid involving drugs, weapons

LAHAD DATU: Five men, including three civil servants, were arrested during a police raid at a house in Taman Harapan, Jalan Silam, on Monday. Lahad Datu police seized a small quantity of Syabu, over 220 litres of Ketum drink, cough syrup, and several bladed weapons during the operation. District police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the suspects, aged between 24 and 38, were remanded for investigation, with one testing positive for drugs. The confiscated items, including a samurai sword and six machetes, were estimated to be worth RM11,655.40. RM2.2 million Crude Palm Oil theft foiled

LAHAD DATU: Marine police foiled a Crude Palm Oil (CPO) misappropriation syndicate following the discovery of an illegal storage place at Batu 15 along Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan. Sabah Region Four MPF Commander ACP Nazri Ibrahim said they raided a premise and discovered 77,590 kg of CPO during a raid at 12.50pm on July 25. Seized were two trucks, a van and an oil storage tank estimated worth RM2,287,332. 'Five locals and a foreigner aged between 20 and 53 were detained to assist in investigation. 'Investigation will be carried out under the Regulation 5(1)(b) of Malaysian Palm Oil Board Regulations 2005,' he said. Mohd Nazri said the marine police was committed in combating smuggling and criminal activities for the safety and wellbeing of the country.
