GreenPower Provides Business Update and Reports Year-End Fiscal 2025 Results
VANCOUVER, BC, July 30, 2025 /CNW/ -- GreenPower Motor Company Inc. (Nasdaq: GP) (TSXV: GPV) ("GreenPower" and the "Company"), a leading manufacturer and distributor of all-electric, purpose-built, zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles serving the cargo and delivery market, shuttle and transit space and school bus sector, today reported its year-end fiscal year 2025 results. "Fiscal year 2025 was a transformative year for GreenPower as the political winds shifted and federal EV incentives and policies began to change," said GreenPower CEO Fraser Atkinson. "While GreenPower continued to manufacturer and deliver class leading all-electric, purpose-built, zero-emission school buses and commercial vehicles, the Company was focused on adapting to these changes by streamlining production and retooling operations to be successful in the space." During the year GreenPower consolidated its California operations from multiple locations in the state to one facility in Riverside. "Consolidating our operations from five different facilities spread throughout California to one larger facility has reduced our costs and increased efficiency," said GreenPower President Brendan Riley. "Having our U.S. corporate headquarters, engineers, project managers, upfitting operations and west coast manufacturing in one location better positions the company for managed growth and success." Manufacturing in the West Virginia facility continued during the fiscal year with the first BEAST Type D school buses rolling off the manufacturing line for in-state orders and a Round 2 EPA Clean School Bus Program (CSBP) grant that was awarded to multiple school districts in the state during fiscal 2025. In the western half of the country, school bus manufacturing and deliveries also continued during the fiscal year under a variety of programs including the CSBP. Type D BEASTs and Type A Nano BEASTs from GreenPower's California facilities were delivered through its dealers to schools in Arizona, California and Oregon. "As the only all-electric, purpose-built school bus OEM manufacturing both a Type A and a Type D school bus in facilities on both sides of the country, GreenPower is perfectly positioned to meet the market demand nationwide," Atkinson continued. "GreenPower innovation remained at the forefront of activities in fiscal year 2025, as two new Class 4 all-electric, purpose-built, zero-emission commercial vehicles were introduced into the marketplace," Riley stated. The first new vehicle was the EV Star Utility Truck which is built for day-to-day demands and workloads and is equipped with optional power sources, providing accessible power through built-in plugs to accommodate tool charging conveniently on a job site. The front box of the vehicle has optional full pass-through capacity, allowing for oversize tools and supplies. The EV Star Utility Truck offers tailored contractor body configurations, coming in a standard bed size of 16 feet, with the option to customize the length to meet the customer's needs, allowing for more room and applications. The second new vehicle unveiled during the fiscal year was the EV Star REEFER X, a new modern offering, all-electric refrigerated medium-duty delivery truck. Built on GreenPower's EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, the EV Star REEFER X is purpose-built and fully customizable with a lighter body to allow for increased payload. Designed to serve mid to last-mile refrigerated delivery and catering applications, the EV Star REEFER X moves goods that need to be temperature controlled, such as fresh and frozen foods, flowers and pharmaceuticals, among other applications. The vehicle body features a one interior wall structure to allow for seamless sanitation, consistent insulation throughout and a longer life. 2025 Year-End Highlights: Generated revenues of $19.8 million for the year ended March 31, 2025. GreenPower delivered a total of 84 vehicles, which were comprised of 34 BEAST Type D school buses, two Nano BEAST Type A school buses, 23 EV Star Cargo and EV Star Cargo Plus commercial vehicles and 25 EV Star Passenger Vans. GreenPower had working capital of $8.1 million at year-end. At the end of the year GreenPower had inventory of $25.6 million, consisting of $10.1 million of finished goods, $11.3 million of work-in-process and $4.2 million of parts and components. China's terrifying new giant ‘sea monster' warplane pictured for first time – & it's a throwback to Cold War Soviet tech
The US and China seem to be in a race to bring back the Soviet era military craft BEAST FROM THE EAST China's terrifying new giant 'sea monster' warplane pictured for first time – & it's a throwback to Cold War Soviet tech CHILLING pictures have emerged showing China's terrifying new giant "sea monster" warplane for the first time. And the wing-in-ground effect (WIG) aircraft, commonly known as an ekranoplan, is a throwback to Soviet military tech from the Cold War era. 7 Picture shows a Chinese ekranoplan being tested in the Bohai Sea Credit: Hurin92/x 7 One of the pictures posted on Chinese social media purports to show the rear of a large wing-in-ground-effect craft on a pier in China's Bohai Sea Credit: Hurin92/x 7 The Soviet Lun-class ekranoplan lay dormant on the coast of the Caspian Sea for more than 30 years Credit: Getty For the first time, the mysterious Chinese military plane was spotted in the Bohai Sea - reportedly undergoing testing. Dubbed the 'Bohai Sea Monster' by aviation analysts, the plane was seen floating on blue waters. Another picture showed the craft partly covered at a naval pier. The vehicle has a boat-shaped fuselage with a horizontal stabiliser on top of the joined V-shape tail – a common configuration for WIG craft. It could be used to facilitate rapid coastal transport, resupply missions, or amphibious operations, according to aviation and maritime experts. China has been flexing its military muscles to intimidate Taiwan, which has hit back with increased drills of its own. It comes just months after satellite pictures showed China's terrifying new invasion barges lining up to form a floating bridge - amid a spate of war drills involving the army, navy and rocket force. The satellite images show three specialised barges, each with two arms of roadway, lining up next to each other. They connect to form a continuous bridge along which invading ground vehicles such as tanks could trundle ashore. Huge retractable legs anchor the barges to the seabed like stilts. China floods sea bases with nuke bombers, terrifying satellite pics show - as US warns Xi could SEIZE Taiwanese islands What is en ekranoplan? An ekranoplan, first developed by the Russians, is a military vehicle that resembles a hybrid between an aircraft and a ship. These vehicles are also known as ground-effect vehicles (GEV), wing-in-ground-effect (WIG) craft, or wingships. They are designed to fly at very low altitudes over a level surface, usually water, by taking advantage of an aerodynamic principle called the ground effect. An ekranoplan utilises the aerodynamic interaction between the moving wing and the surface below - which could be ground or water. When a wing moves close to the ground, air pressure on the underside of the wing increases, creating a cushion of air. This air cushion increases lift and reduces drag, allowing the vehicle to glide just a few meters above the surface. This is a dynamic air cushion that is created by the forward speed of the craft. A SOVIET RELIC Caspian Sea Monster, a 302ft Soviet Sea Monster, was a prime example of an ekranoplan. The aquatic beast is perhaps one of the weirdest-looking machines ever built, with four engines stacked in a row on each of its wings. It was bigger than a Boeing 747 and armed to the teeth with missiles, was beyond unique with eight huge jet engines. The hybrid ship-aircraft, officially named Korabl Maket, was built by the Soviet Union during the Cold War and weighed 240 tonnes when empty, with a 72ft height, a 123ft wingspan, and a top speed of 310mph. It was an experimental vehicle developed in the 1960s and intended to attack Nato nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers. It carried six anti-ship missiles in launch tubes at the top of its hull, which could travel up to 60 miles at three times the speed of light. The machine first entered service in 1966 and was continuously tested by the Soviet Navy, until it crashed in the Caspian Sea in 1980. It was decommissioned when the Soviet Union collapsed in the early 1990s and lay dormant for more than three decades at Kaspiysk naval base, about 62 miles up the coast from Derbent. A second Sea Monster was designed for rescue and supply missions and was nearly completed by the early 1990s - but the project was scrapped when the Soviet Union collapsed, at the same time the existing ekranoplan was withdrawn from service. 7 The Soviet ekranoplan is now beached as a 'museum' in Derbent 7 The sea monster carried six anti-ship missiles in launch tubes at the top of its hullThe sea monster 7 AMERICA'S ANSWER The Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon's right arm, is building a ground-effect vehicle (GEV) expected to take to the skies from 2027. Called the Liberty Lifter, the aircraft will be responsible for the transportation of war logistics on a mass scale. The futuristic plane will be able to transport heavy and bulky equipment way quicker than existing cargo aircraft and ships while covering greater distances. As an ekranoplan, it will fly low over the ocean surface while fighting a wide range of weather conditions. It will also be able to fly at high altitudes up to 10,000 feet for short but frequent periods. Similar to a hovercraft, it will be able to glide over water on a cushion of air, allowing it to be quicker and more efficient. And its mass size will allow it to stay stable while carrying tonnes of goods. The DARPA said in a statement: "The Liberty Lifter program is currently designing and will build, float, and fly an affordable and innovative seaplane that can potentially transform fast logistics missions for the DOD and commerce." In addition to operating over water, the Liberty Lifter will also be able to cruise over any relatively flat surface, including rivers, deserts - and even snow fields. The United States considered building ekranoplans during the Cold War just like the Russians. American spies were once convinced that ekranoplans could be used for laying mines, as well as for anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue operations.

My mistake came in putting together a group of fairground rides – SLIDE, CAROUSEL, TEACUP and BEAST. Of these, BEAST was the one that didn't feel right – so I began thinking of other things that it could mean and after dismissing Mr as the link landed on Beauty & The Beast and some of the other characters in the fairytale. STRUM, SLIDE and PICK both felt like they had something to do with guitars but I took a risk with BEND, having completely overlooked the much more obvious AIRPORT FEATURES. How did you do today? Let me know in the comments below. Yesterday's NYT Connections answers (Monday, May 26, game #715) YELLOW: ITEMS IN A LINEN CLOSET PILLOWCASE, SHEET, TOWEL, WASHCLOTH PILLOWCASE, SHEET, TOWEL, WASHCLOTH GREEN: DIAMETRIC COUNTER, OPPOSITE, POLAR, REVERSE COUNTER, OPPOSITE, POLAR, REVERSE BLUE: LINGERIE GARTER, HOSE, SLIP, TEDDY GARTER, HOSE, SLIP, TEDDY PURPLE: CARD GAMES WITH FIRST LETTER CHANGED DIN, FRIDGE, GUMMY, JOKER NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four items that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite tough and purple usually very difficult. On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final one, as you'll be able to answer that one by a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little bit of breathing room. It's a little more involved than something like Wordle, however, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For instance, watch out for homophones and other word games that could disguise the answers. It's playable for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile. READ SOURCE

K-pop Group HIGHLIGHT Announces Asia Tour; Malaysia Show Set For September
Last week, rumours began circulating that K-pop boy group HIGHLIGHT (하이라이트), formerly known as BEAST (비스트), would be holding a concert in Malaysia later this year. Speculation arose after GME International teased fans with an image of a flower encased in a lightbulb, set against a backdrop of metal chains — a clear nod to the group's official lightstick and their latest track, 'Chains'. Well, it appears that fans' guesses were correct as it has now been confirmed that the idols will be making their way to our shores this September. Here's what we know so far: HIGHLIGHT first rose to fame as BEAST, debuting in 2009 under Cube Entertainment. In 2016, members Yoon Doo-joon, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon ended their contracts with the agency and announced their departure. However, much to fans' delight, the group rebranded as HIGHLIGHT the following year after signing with Around Us Entertainment. Since their re-debut, HIGHLIGHT have released several hit tracks, including 'It's Still Beautiful', 'Take Care', 'BODY', 'Switch On', and their latest single, 'Chains'. Earlier today (Monday, 19th May), the quartet officially announced that they'll be embarking on their [RIDE OR DIE] tour across Asia, and Malaysia is confirmed as one of the stops. Here are the details revealed so far: HIGHLIGHT LIVE 2025 [RIDE OR DIE] in Malaysia Date: 27th September 2025 (Saturday) 27th September 2025 (Saturday) Venue: TBA TBA Organiser: GME International Other confirmed stops on the tour so far include Manila, Taipei, Tokyo, and Bangkok. It's also worth noting that additional dates may still be announced, meaning there's a chance the group could perform in other neighbouring countries such as Singapore or Indonesia. While we wait for more updates, how about we enjoy HIGHLIGHT's latest single 'Chains'? Source: Instagram
