Traveling On Leh Circuit? Check KTM India's Special Service Offerings On Route

KTM India has started its Service on Wheels (SOW) on the Leh Circuit. This is aimed at bringing peace of mind and support to the owners of the brand riding in the mountains 12,500 feet above sea level. Specifically, the moving service centre will cover the Manali-Keylong-Jispa-Sarchu route. The KTM Service on Wheels will operate between Jispa and Sarchu, providing prompt assistance to customers in these remote areas. The brand already maintains a presence at various locations with service outlets in Bhuntar, Manali, Keylong, and Leh. Additionally, the manufacturer has a comprehensive 3S (sales, service, and spares) facility established in Leh. The Service on Wheels program guarantees that customers can access repairs, spare parts, and support promptly when needed. Furthermore, customers can schedule preventive inspections to ensure a seamless journey along the route. Speaking at the launch, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd said, "The KTM spirit is all about pushing boundaries, and we are proud to support our riders with unmatched service coverage through the Leh sector. With KTM Service on Wheels, we're ensuring that adventure never has to stop due to service constraints. It's our way of delivering true peace of mind, right in the heart of India's most rugged motorcycling landscape." Traditionally, the Leh circuit has been predominantly associated with Royal Enfield, so it is encouraging to see other brands taking steps to assist their customers on this demanding route. This development should inspire more riders to venture out with their motorcycles and discover the expansive landscapes our country has to offer.

Autoworld Invests AED 45 Million to Build Regional Hub in Jafza

Autoworld International FZCO, the regional distributor for India's Bajaj Auto Ltd, is investing AED 45 million in a new logistics and distribution hub in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), aiming to bolster its reach across Africa and the Middle East. The 162,000 sq. ft facility will include an assembly plant for Bajaj motorcycles and three-wheelers, as well as dedicated storage for spare parts, tyres, and lubricants. Slated for completion by 2026, the hub is expected to enhance Autoworld's operational capacity and support new product partnerships. As demand for affordable, fuel-efficient vehicles surges in emerging markets—particularly in Africa, where the two-wheeler market is growing at nearly 5% annually—Autoworld's investment positions it to better serve high-growth regions. 'This facility marks a major step forward in our growth strategy,' said Vishal Kumar Lakhani, Director at Autoworld. 'Jafza's infrastructure has been crucial to our expansion across Africa and the GCC since 2008.' DP World, which operates Jafza, welcomed the move as a boost to Dubai's automotive logistics ecosystem. 'Autoworld's expansion highlights the strength of Jafza's trade network, which supported AED 102 billion in automotive trade last year,' said Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks and Zones, DP World GCC. The project is expected to generate over 100 direct and indirect jobs, supporting Dubai's ambition to become a global hub for mobility, logistics, and automotive trade. Bajaj Auto flags threat of production cuts by July if rare-earth magnet issue remains unresolved

Bajaj Auto Ltd on Thursday warned that its production can be severely affected if Chinese restrictions on rare earth magnets are not eased by July. Chinese restrictions on key rare-earth magnets posed an existential threat to the electric vehicle (EV) business, Rakesh Sharma, executive director at Bajaj Auto, said during a media briefing after the results. Worryingly for investors, Bajaj's management said that the launch timeline for the country's fourth-largest two-wheeler player's upcoming electric variants will also be impacted if the situation is not resolved. 'There is no short-term solution. Alternatives exist, but they will take time to develop," Sharma said. Last month, China started asking for end-user certificates to clear exports of rare-earth magnets, which are required in electric motors and other components used in EVs. The industry has highlighted to the government that there can be a serious threat to production lines at automobile factories if the situation is not resolved, as per three people in the know. 'Stocks are fast depleting. So far, 30 applications have been submitted to China, but none have received final approval. The Chinese government has said that final approvals will take about 45 days," Sharma said during the call. China almost entirely controls the global supply of rare earth magnets, crucial to making efficient motors. The licences are now being issued only after the companies are able to submit an array of documents, including photographs of the product where the magnets will be used and an undertaking that the product will not be used for any military application. FY25 results strong; exports, margins rise Sharma made the comments after the release of the company's January-March and FY2025 results. The company's revenue jumped by 12% to ₹50,010 crore during the financial year due to a 7% growth in total two-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales to 4.6 million units. The company's earnings before interest taxes depreciation and amortization increased by 40 basis points to 20.2%, resulting in a 9% growth in net profit to ₹8,151 crore. During the January to March period, revenue jumped 6% to ₹12,148 crore, while net profit increased by 6% to ₹2,049 crore. 'Export performance in our key markets like Latin America was good. KTM's share in our exports was nearly nil in the quarter," Sharma said. Also Read: New Delhi is promoting hybrid cars on par with electric, upsetting EV makers Bajaj's exports during the last financial year jumped by 14% to 1.8 million two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, which helped it expand margins and post growth in the market. Going forward, the management expects that electric vehicles will continue to grow in double digits, while the more expensive 125cc motorcycle segment's growth will be double the industry average.
