Broncos' projected depth chart going into training camp
The Denver Broncos are back! Broncos training camp kicks off this week, and the team has 91 players on the roster going into camp. Before the first official day of practice on Friday, we're releasing a projected depth chart for Sean Payton's squad. Keep in mind that this depth chart is a projection, not an official depth chart from the team. Denver is not required to release an official depth chart until preseason begins next month. Note that the Broncos have 91 players on the roster, but rookie punter Jeremy Crawshaw does not count against the NFL's 90-player offseason roster limit as part of the league's international player program. Denver Broncos Depth Chart Quarterback (3) No surprises on the quarterback depth chart. Stidham will serve as the primary backup again this season, and Ehlinger might be bumped down to the practice squad when the 53-man roster is set at the end of preseason. Running back (6) It wouldn't be shocking to see the Broncos carry four running backs on the active roster. The RBs who don't make the 53-man squad will be top candidates for the practice squad. Either Badie or Watson could emerge as a sleeper for the active roster with a good summer. Tight end/fullback (7) Engram is the team's top receiving threat at the position, and Trautman is safe as a blocking TE. Burton is back as the team's fullback, and Adkins fills a hybrid role. Krull, Lohner and Prieskorn might be competing for one final spot. Wide receiver (12) If the Broncos plan to carry six receivers on the 53-man roster, the favorites are pretty easy to project. But everyone will get an opportunity to impress this summer. Offensive line (16) All five starting offensive linemen from last year are returning, so the competitions will be for the backup spots this summer. The interior backups will be asked to play both guard and center, and the backup tackles should be able to play on the left and right in a pinch. Truss and Webb are among the UDFAs who could be real candidates to make the 53-man roster. Defensive line (10) The top six spots seem to be essentially locked in, but again, players will get opportunities to win spots this summer. Sai'vion Jones improves the team's depth, and Eyioma Uwazurike will look to have a breakthrough campaign in his second season back from a gambling suspension. Outside linebacker (7) Denver's already-deep room got even deeper this spring when the team drafted Robinson, but his biggest contributions might come on special teams as a rookie. Walker is a UDFA sleeper to monitor. Inside linebacker (8) The inside linebacker competition will be fascinating to watch this summer. Singleton is coming back from a torn ACL, and he'll turn 32 in December. Sanders is healthy and entering the summer with positional clarity. Bailey impressed last summer, and the team added a few intriguing undrafted free agents this spring. Let's see how it shakes out. Cornerback (11) Barron can line up inside and outside, and it remains to be seen which spot ends up being his primary position. If Barron plays outside more often than inside, Moss could be moved to the slot. If Barron primarily plays inside, though, Moss figures to continue starting across from PS2. McMillian is great depth inside, and Abrams-Draine impressed when called upon last season. Goodrich will hope to win a spot on special teams after joining from the UFL. Safety (8) It's hard to predict how the safety room will shake out, but there are several contenders to win a spot on the active roster based on their special teams contributions. Special teams (3) The three specialist spots appear to be set. Denver will trim the roster down to 53 players by Aug. 26, then the club will build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Last year, the team's initial practice squad included Burton, Tillman, Bailey and Badie. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Did you know: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Tennessee Titans' Cam Ward on Treylon Burks: 'He's going to be one of our best targets'
Burks on his recovery this off-season and how it feels playing with Ward and a group of rookie receivers. #Titans One of the things that happened Wednesday, on the first day of Tennessee Titans training camp, that flew under the radar was the return of Treylon Burks to full practice. Burks, who is returning from a torn ACL, has had an amazing recovery and, in many ways, is ahead of schedule. After participating in a limited fashion during OTAs and minicamp, Burks is settling in and preparing to battle a group of young receivers for his spot on the roster. After practice, Burks spoke with a reporter about his offseason and how it felt to be back on the field. The veteran receiver appears to be embracing the dynamics of the rebuilt receiver room as he works his way back to 100 percent. "It was a different type of offseason for me. Learn how to run, learn how to jump. Get back stronger, get back in shape, and catch up with where I left off to be out here," he said. Cam Ward also noticed Burks during team drills and singled him out during his first training camp media scrum. Cam Ward on Treylon Burks: "He's going to be one of our best targets this year. Not a lot of guys at his size can move like him," he said. These comments were interesting and could have some legs. But there is still a long way to go in the camp, and nothing is set in stone. Ward has always had a reputation for being a great teammate and leader, and he could be using his platform to further motivate Burks. No matter what happens in training camp, Burks has worked his way into an opportunity. Now it is up to him to seize his moment and potentially live up to his draft pedigree.

Cardinals injury update: BJ Ojulari, Bilal Nichols, Walter Nolen begin camp on PUP
Three front-seven defenders for the Cardinals will start out training camp on the sideline recovering from injuries. When Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon addressed the media prior to the team's first training camp practice Wednesday, the message wasn't a positive one. Gannon revealed that defensive linemen Bilal Nichols and Walter Nolen III, along with outside linebacker BJ Ojulari, would not be on the field. There was no surprise regarding Nichols and Ojulari, who suffered injuries in 2024 and didn't do much in offseason workouts. The latter suffered a torn ACL early in training camp, while Nichols was sidelined because of a neck injury that limited his season to six games and five starts. He was placed on injured reserve Oct. 15. Nolen, the 16th overall choice in the first round of this year's draft, is sidelined by a calf injury. Gannon said that was a 'new one that popped up. Hurt his calf training, so he's gonna miss some time.' When the injury occurred wasn't revealed, but the Cardinals haven't been on the field since the end of minicamp in mid-June, but it apparently happened during a team activity because he was placed on active/physically unable to perform (PUP) instead of active/non-football injury (NFI). Nichols and Ojulari were also placed on active/PUP. Players with that designation failed their physicals, but count on the active roster. They can pass at any time up to the cutdown to 53 players and then begin practicing. At the cutdown, players with that designation must either remain on the roster or be placed on reserve, which puts them out for at least the first four games of the season. When asked about the frustration the players are experiencing, Gannon said, 'They know it's part of the game. Bilal and BJ got hurt playing football. Walter gets hurt doing the right things, training. It happens. He's recovering, rehabbing and he'll get out there when he needs to get out there. You just control the controllables.' While all three players will miss some time, there was no specific timeframe revealed. 'All three of them are doing all they can to get back on the field,' Gannon added. 'They're all different. I don't like to compare injuries. They're obviously different people.' Might any of the injuries extend into the regular season? 'I don't know that. I really don't,' Gannon said. 'We'll see how it goes. They wanna be out there with their teammates and practice and we need all three, but when they're healthy they'll play.' Asked whether not being ready for the start of camp is a setback for Ojulari after the expectations were high last summer before his injury, Gannon said, 'Reps are learning experiences, so he missed a year of reps, of game reps. And I really liked where he was trending. But when he gets back, he'll pick up where he left off and every day will be a learning experience for him.'
