Baker County Sheriff's Office searching for missing woman with schizophrenia
The Baker County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday afternoon that it is searching for a Glen St. Mary woman who has been missing since Tuesday. 57-year-old Cynthia Diane Padgett, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, does not have her medication with her. A Purple Alert has been issued. She is listed as being 5′4″. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< Padgett was last seen leaving her home on Tommy Road in red and black checkered pajama pants and a gray t-shirt. BCSO says she left in a white 2013 Ford Fiesta with the Florida tag IFTP94. Her father told deputies she had called him while still in Baker County, and claimed to be going to Lake City. Her car may be in Union, Columbia, or Baker counties. If you know where Padgett may be, you're asked to call BCSO at (904) 259-2861 or 911 if you're outside of the county. Six suspects named in connection with Quail Lane shooting: BCSO
The Baker County Sheriff's Office provided an update Monday night on a Macclenny shooting that happened April 13th. That day, one person was injured in a shooting near Quail Lane and 9th Street. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< Now, officials say they have six suspects in connection with the shooting, and four on a charge of attempted 2nd degree murder: George Robert Jackson III (Attempted 2nd degree murder and more) Jealene Celeste Gonzalez (Attempted 2nd degree murder and more) Natavian O'Neal Griffin (Attempted 2nd degree murder and more) Keshaun Devon Griffin (Attempted 2nd degree murder and more) Tonda Neacole Jackson Manning (Altering/destroying/concealing evidence) George Robert Jackson Jr. (Altering/destroying/concealing evidence, weapon/ammo possession by a felon) As of Monday night's statement, only Jackson Jr. and Manning had been arrested. Active warrants are out for the remaining four. The fugitive located at a nearby house along with several guns that day, 25-year-old Evintae Tyrone Moring, was not named as a suspect. The sound of gunshots and the reaction of nearby neighbors was caught on a doorbell camera. 'Total disregard for human life,' he said. 'I'm a very concerned citizen.' Baker County store clerk shot trying to stop man, child from stealing alcohol
A store clerk remained in critical condition Wednesday after an armed robbery at a Baker County gas station. The robbery occurred Tuesday night at Royalty Gas on US 90 and Eighth Street. Two people, an adult male and a 14-year-old boy, are in custody, according to the Baker County Sheriff's Office. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< The clerk confronted the suspects as they attempted to walk out of the store with alcoholic beverages and was shot, the sheriff's office said. The clerk underwent surgery early Wednesday and remains in the hospital, the sheriff's office said. Armed robbery reported at gas station in Baker County, no active threat

One person shot, taken to hospital after Macclenny shooting
The Baker County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are investigating after a shooting in Macclenny left one person injured. Undersheriff Randy Crews told Action News Jax the shooting happened around noon on Sunday. Deputies responded to the area of Quail Lane and 9th Street, where one person was shot. The victim was taken to UF Health in Jacksonville for treatment. The sheriff's office said a 'large crime scene' was being processed with the help of FDLE, resulting in nearby road closures. Undersheriff Crews said all parties involved in the shooting have been identified, and there is no further risk to the public. We're told this investigation has no relation to the heavy police presence on Quail Lane Saturday night, which also closed the road.
