Nicki Minaj's Viral Pose Trend: The Internet's Best Copycat Moments
The Barbz have a new assignment, and it involves recreating Nicki Minaj's now-iconic "High School" pose, and, of course, the internet did not disappoint. For those unfamiliar with the internet's latest obsession, the trend kicked off after a user unearthed a clip of Minaj posing poolside in high heels with her legs crossed in the "High School" music video, featuring rap sensation Lil Wayne. But the challenge isn't just about the pose; participants have gone all out with the fashion, recreating the look in So Kate Christian Louboutin pumps, dazzling bodysuits, and even pointe shoes. So, to honor the newest trend sparking tons of creativity and over-the-top production, here are five of the best that The Blast has seen so far. Nicki Minaj's 'High School' Pose Trend Has Social Media Users Going Above And Beyond First is social media user Brook Ashley Hall. According to the influencer's TikTok bio, her page covers a wide range of topics, including beauty, lifestyle, and family. She has 14.9 million followers on the platform, and the latest clips of her recreating Minaj's "High School" pose have further skyrocketed her popularity. In the first video, the blonde-haired beauty wore a matching purple suit with bright pink stilettos and Louis Vuitton shades. She garnered a lot of love in the comment section of her post, with her husband, Marco Hall, writing, "I literally married an ICON." Someone else chimed in, telling Hall that there was to be "no eating" by the pool—a slang term used after a flawless performance of something. And that's not all she wrote. Hall then took it a step further in another video, where she's seen sitting atop two dumbbells stacked on each other. A user commented, "Heavyweight championnnn." Another User Nails The Nicki Minaj Trend In So Kate Louboutins A second user, who only goes by the first name Imanni on TikTok, also put her spin on the Nicki Minaj "High School" trend. In addition to posing with two dumbbells stacked on top of each other, this user, who has nearly 74,000 followers, placed a stack of books on the top to add even more drama. But the best part of her attempt: she was wearing a black pair of So Kate Christian Louboutin pumps, which retail from $845 to nearly $4,000. The sky-high heel is a go-to staple for Hollywood's elite, worn by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, and, most notably, Zendaya. This TikTok User Took The Nicki Minaj Trend To A New Level And if sitting on free weights didn't sound outrageous enough, TikTok users Nini&Tiny took it to a brand new level. In their take on the trend, one half of the social media account wore strikingly flashy sunglasses and what appeared to be a sleek, black robe. While Nicki Minaj's "High School" played in the background, a camera spun around them, showing them sitting atop a bright blue Keuring coffee maker. Then, a hand fan flashed in front of the screen, later revealing a second user, dressed the same way, imitating the same pose. Talk about production value! How'd This User Get On Top Of Their Mailbox? The fourth user to leave the internet speechless is We_Tha_Future5. In their video, they sat atop a mailbox in an all-black ensemble with shades on, staring down the camera intensely as it rotated around them. The popular beauty brand Elf Cosmetics commented on the clip, saying, "Me waiting for my package the moment I place the order." Another user joined in on the fun, adding, "Mailbox stronger than my relationship." A Fifth User Executed The Trend Underwater In the last video, user Antoni Bumba, who has over 900,000 followers on the platform, executed the trend underwater. Like the other users, she had on sunglasses, but also added some flair to her look with a sparkly, sheer scarf. One user commented, "How could you eat underwater?" Former host of "Catfish," Kamie Crawford, also commented, writing, "Correct." A third user jokingly wrote, "OKAY LUNG CAPACITY I SEE YOU." These are just a few of the hilarious and creative takes that have been trending, but the TikTok sound is growing by the minute. SZA Responds To Nicki Minaj, Says She Reached Out Twice For Features
SZA found herself on the business end of a Nicki Minaj rant, with the Queens veteran attacking the TDE singer and making unfounded claims about her character. In the wake of that flurry of social media messages, SZA, who is currently co-headlining the Grand National Tour with former labelmate Kendrick Lamar, fired back at Nicki Minaj and claims that her rival tried to reach out twice for features. As reported by Hip-Hop Wired, Nicki Minaj unloaded a barrage of insults and claims regarding SZA, adding that the New Jersey artist had unkind words for her musical peers and taking digs at her vocal ability. After initially giving a soft tap back, SZA had heard enough and added her side of the beef. 'Nicki . You absolutely know my music and what I contribute cause you've asked for features twice to no response . In addition to rapping my lyrics on feeling myself 'Cooking up the bass looking like a kilo'? Lol ur having a moment ..im not sure why but be blessed,' the CTRL singer wrote in direct response to a Minaj tweet. Fans of Nicki Minaj are claiming that the texts SZA shared on X were 'fake' to quote one user. However, the artist born Solána Rowe didn't duck any of the smoke from Minaj or the legion of Barbz trying to come for her. 'I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love . IN REAL LIFE . My parents are healthy and I'm the most successful I ever been . GET SOME F*CKING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL !!!' SZA fired back at a Minaj fan. Although SZA is moving on from the beef, the Barbz are doing their concerted best to try and throw her off her square. Exploring the viral beef between Nicki Minaj and SZA
Tensions have escalated between Nicki Minaj and SZA after a series of pointed social media exchanges that quickly captured fans' attention and fueled speculation of a deeper rift. I don't give a fuck bout none of that weird shit you popping . — SZA (@sza) July 15, 2025 The conflict appeared to begin when Minaj publicly accused rapper Punch—associated with SZA's label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE)—of 'bullying' her on X (formerly Twitter) after she declined a business proposal. 'So glad I have proof of being bullied by AND being lied on by a man publicly,' Minaj wrote on July 15, adding that it affected her ability to work on the platform. Mercury retrograde .. don't take the bait lol silly goose . — SZA (@sza) July 15, 2025 Shortly after, SZA posted a cryptic message referencing Mercury retrograde, warning others not to 'take the bait.' Though she didn't mention Minaj directly, the 'Super Bass' rapper took it personally, responding with a jab at SZA's appearance: 'Go draw your freckles back on bookie.' Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a fkng dead dog. — Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) July 15, 2025 Minaj continued with more insults, criticizing SZA's looks and questioning the legitimacy of her recent career milestone—SOS becoming the longest-charting Top 10 album by a Black artist on the Billboard 200. Minaj suggested that the deluxe version of SZA's 2022 album was released primarily to break chart records rather than for artistic reasons. 'Girl bye,' she wrote, implying the move lacked integrity. Though SZA avoided directly replying to Minaj, she responded strongly to a fan who warned her about potential backlash from Nicki's fanbase, the Barbz. 'I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour,' she wrote, emphasizing her real-world success and dismissing the online drama. As of now, neither artist has backed down or offered a truce, leaving fans to speculate whether this public feud will continue or quietly fade.

SZA tells Nicki Minaj to 'bark at the wall' after she branded her a 'dead dog'
SZA has told Nicki Minaj to "bark at the wall" after she launched a tirade against her - including branding her a "dead dog". The beef between the music stars began after Nicki took aim at SZA's manager, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president Terrence 'Punch' Henderson, with jibes such as 'Tiny D*** Executive". Nicki then went on a rampage accusing SZA of bullying huge stars such as Beyonce, Rihanna and herself, re-posting alleged old tweets SZA made about them. One read: "Beyonce lookin more and more like madonna every day! Coulda swore she was black at one point... #justsayin (sic)" Referring to the resurfaced posts, Nicki wrote on X: "Me after I suck some good zik. Guarantee you wouldn't fight a man. We have every tweet of your incessant bullying, lying, and more. "Your name was added to that s*** list s****y drawers. "Same thing that make you laugh make you…s***." Kill Bill star SZA had posted the following around the same time, but later claimed it was not aimed at Nicki, writing: "Mercury retrograde .. don't take the bait lol silly goose." Nicki did think it was about her and proceeded to call SZA a "dead dog". The Starships hitmaker also once again called for justice for Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez' daughter, Demoree Hadley, who accused her mom of wrongfully having her admitted to a mental health facility. She wrote: 'Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a fkng dead dog.' Nicki has been campaigning against Perez - who was pardoned by President Donald Trump in 2021, after being arrested for conspiracy to distribute narcotics - for some time now. After being trolled by Nicki's fans - who are known as Barbz - SZA pointed out her successes and penned about her joint Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar: "I get bullied by millions online every day then step my a** out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love . IN REAL LIFE . My parents are healthy and I'm the most successful I ever been . GET SOME F****** PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL !!! (sic)"

Nicki Minaj denies broke rumors, flaunts new mansion and $200M Tidal dispute with Jay-Z
Nicki Minaj is silencing critics who questioned her finances by flexing her luxury lifestyle and reigniting her feud with Jay-Z. The rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to refute claims that she's broke, following speculation surrounding her recent online attacks aimed at Jay-Z and Roc Nation. Minaj claimed she's in the process of purchasing a third mansion in just two years, adding that she's been buying property for others for over 15 years. 'Catch up ugly,' she wrote to her critics. She also revealed that she recently acquired a pink private jet, adding, 'Entry is for fly Barbz only.' Just bought my first jet. It's all pink. Come on losers get in! Sike. Fly Barbz only. — Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) July 11, 2025 This online flex came after Minaj accused Jay-Z of owing her $200 million from the 2021 sale of Tidal to Square Inc., fueling rumors that financial issues prompted her outbursts. But Minaj insists she's far from struggling. 'If tmrw I wake up & want maybe 20-30MM, all I have to do is hand in my album… Then I'd tour again & gross over a hunnit,' she wrote. Minaj's comments come as Jay-Z appeared unbothered, attending the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey and posting photos with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. Fans online pointed out the contrast, with one user commenting, 'Mr. Carter is living his best life while Nicki is having a meltdown.' Despite the backlash, Minaj continues to double down, asserting her dominance in the industry and her financial independence. As her Pink Friday 2 World Tour continues to generate buzz, Minaj's latest posts serve as both a clapback and a power move.
