Pride Month is both a protest and a celebration. And taking to the streets to march as the most fabulous and unapologetic version of yourself just simply requires a soundtrack. Here are 10 songs to hype you up before Pride March, or to listen to when you need that extra rainbow kick! 1. 'Reyna' by Michelle Dee Who else has got "Reyna" stuck in their heads? Michelle Dee's debut single is one to keep in your Pride Month playlist. The bisexual icon created an empowering song about rising above losses and knowing in yourself that you are, in fact, a queen. Fab lyrics: "Mas maraming talo Kaysa sa Panalo Ang hirap magpakatotoo Kung bawat kilos ko'y minamata Nakaabang matalo ang mga mapanghusga Dinadaan ko na lang sa ngiti at pangdededma" 2. 'Ganda Gandahan' by Dia Mate "Ganda Gandahan" is the campy pop song for the face card that never declines. Dia Mate sings about how there is a lot of hate and harassment in the world but one thing is for sure—your beauty. The First Lady of Primetime released a danceable single about knowing your worth and not settling for less. 'Dapat Pakak' by the cast of 'Drag Race Philippines' Season 3 "Drag Race Philippines" is home to countless LGBT+ songs. The latest season in 2024 birthed "Dapat Pakak," wherein all the drag artists introduced themselves and their pasts, and sang that they got what it takes to be a top queen. Fab lyrics: "Dapat pakak everybody look at me Dapat pakak I'm sickening and dazzling Dapat pakak gonna keep on fighting Cause my crown will keep on shining Kaya dapat pakak" 6. ''Di Ka Sayang' by Ben&Ben "'Di Ka Sayang" is a song that resonated with the LGBT+ community. Ben&Ben touched on themes of pretending and not being accepted by society in the folk pop song, but knowing that there are people on your side who love and accept you. Fab lyrics: "Di ka sayang Di kailangang manghinayang Di ka sayang Di kailangang patunayang Sarili ay mahalaga Kahit pa anong tingin nila Tanggap kita" 7. 'Sirena' by Gloc-9 and Ebe Dancel "Sirena" by Gloc-9 and Ebe Dancel is now one of the most popular LGBT+ anthems in the Philippines, and for great reason. The artists did not hold back when discussing the abuse the community has to go through on a daily basis, even enduring this from their own families. Fab lyrics: "'Di sinusukat ang tapang at ang bigote sa mukha Dahil kung minsan mas lalaki pa sa lalaki ang bakla" 8. 'Rampa' by Vice Ganda Vice Ganda is here to make you unkabogable! Everybody's favorite Meme Vice gives a reminder that life is a runway, to always move with confidence, and believe in yourself. 'bbgirl' by BP Valenzuela, August Wahh, and No Rome BP Valenzuela, August Wahh, and No Rome's "bbgirl" is straight out of coming-of-age movie. The dreamy track is all about falling in love with a girl, and how she never leaves your mind. 'Balang Araw' by Nica Del Rosario In the mellow track "Balang Araw," Nica Del Rosario sings about the feelings of being part of the LGBT+ community. She gets personal about falling in love, but also sad that their love is not accepted by society. Nica also sings about the hope that one day, everyone will love loudly regardless of gender, sexuality, and other factors. Belting out a short acapella version of the song, Cristopher showcased his vocal prowess. He also tugged some heartstrings by including nostalgic photos of himself with his parents from the good old days in the video. Cristopher's shot to fame began in 2013 when he joined "It's Showtime" segment "Kalokalike" as Lautner's "Twilight" character, Jacob Black, where he performed the now-viral 'What hafen, Vella?' line.
