Railway infrastructure development plan for 5 stations in Nashik district

Nashik: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishaw approved a Rs 1,011 crore plan for the development of railway infrastructure at five stations of Central Railway — Nashik Road, Devlali, Odha, Kasbe Sukene, and Kherwadi — in Nashik district. This initiative aims to manage the influx of pilgrims expected to visit Nashik from various parts of the country. Vaishaw, along with minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu, conducted an extensive review of the proposals presented by the general manager of Central Railway and the divisional railway manager of the Bhusawal Division on Friday. The authorities outlined their strategies to upgrade the stations and set up new facilities to accommodate the increased traffic during Simhastha Kumbh Mela and other periods. "The plan for Devlali station (on the Mumbai side of Nashik Road station) includes the creation of two pit lines for the maintenance of the rakes, two sick lines used to put the tracks on hold, and two stabilising lines that will ensure the parking of the rakes until they are deployed on the next task. Apart from this, we will also have three new platforms at Devlali station, of which one each will be used for terminating the traffic coming from the Mumbai side and Nashik side, respectively, and the third platform will be used for trains passing through the station," said a senior official from the office of the Divisional Railway Manager, Bhusawal. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The oldest stars whose fans don't even know they're still alive Reportingly Undo At Nashik Road station, limited space has prompted the railways to commence work on two stabilising or parking lines. Additionally, the length of Platform 1 will be extended to accommodate 24-coach trains, up from the existing 22-coach capacity, and the use of Platform 4 will be upgraded to handle trains from either direction. Odha Railway station will undergo significant development with the construction of five stabilising lines for parking trains and an additional platform alongside the existing two. "Odha station (on the Bhusawal side of Nashik Road station) will also be used as a major place to park the trains during Simhastha Kumbh Mela. The facilities developed will be used for agriculture and goods transportation during the non-Simhastha Kumbh period," the official added. At Kasbe Sukene, the platform lengths will be increased to enable the handling of 22-coach trains, up from the current 11-coach trains. Kherwadi will see the construction of two new platforms to accommodate 24-coach trains. "Apart from this, every station will have a 'mela tower' that will house CCTVs, public announcement centres, operations control rooms, security officials monitoring the movement of trains and passengers, construction of wider foot over bridges to enable more people to cross the tracks easily, and also huge holding areas where the pilgrims coming to catch the trains will stay before they are allowed onto the platform as per the availability of the trains," the official said. Construction work has already commenced on approximately 50% of the planned projects, with the remaining work scheduled to begin shortly. Land acquisition will be necessary in some cases and is expected to start by Jan 2026.

Demand for 4 Rajyarani coaches for passengers from Manmad

Nashik: The Bhusawal Divisional Railway Manager (Commercial) has urged Central Railway (CR) to earmark four coaches of the Nanded–Mumbai Rajyarani Express exclusively for passengers boarding between Manmad and Mumbai. Responding to growing demand from passengers and representations from elected officials, the Bhusawal division has written to CR headquarters requesting that at least four coaches be made available for booking from Manmad. These bookings would be managed by the Bhusawal division, which cited a significant volume of daily passengers commuting between Manmad, Nashik, and Mumbai. "Given the representation by passengers from Nashik and recommendations from elected representatives, we have requested the CR to take up the issue with the South Central Railway (SCR) for the reservation of the coach, as the train is handled by the Nanded division of the Telangana-based SCR," said a senior officer from the Bhusawal Divisional Railway Manager's office. The demand comes in the wake of recent changes by SCR, which decided to remove two general second-class seating coaches from the 17611 Nanded–CSMT Rajyarani Express. As a result, the train will now have only four general seating coaches, with the addition of one sleeper coach and an air-conditioned chair car. These changes are expected to take effect from August 5. The train departs Nanded at 10:00 pm, reaches Nashik at 6:00 am, and arrives in Mumbai at 10:00 am. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cardiologists Recommend: Eat 1 Teaspoon Tonight – Wake Up With a Flatter Stomach Hollywood News | USA Click Here Undo According to railway data, around 100 passengers board from Manmad and approximately 140 from Nashik Road daily with current tickets, in addition to nearly 150 pass-holders. A large share of these are daily commuters and office-goers who rely on the Rajyarani Express to reach offices by 10:30 am, unlike the Panchavati Express, which arrives at CSMT around 10:45 am and is therefore not a feasible option for many. "The occupancy of all general coaches (six existing) of this train combined is 92% from Manmad and 130% from Nashik towards Mumbai. Slashing down the number of coaches by two is going to impact passengers. We have therefore sought the opening of the four coaches from Manmad such that the SCR will issue reservations for those coaches till Manmad only and not beyond. That business will be handled by the Bhusawal Division of CR," the officer added.

Court cancels case against Muslim man, says he gave lawful one-time divorce

Holding that "what was prohibited was the Talaq-e-bidat and not Talaq-e-Ahsan," the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has quashed an FIR and the proceedings emanating from it against a man and his family who had divorced his wife, according to bench of Justices Vibha Kankanwadi and Sanjay A Deshmukh said that it would be an abuse of process of law, if a Jalgaon resident and his parents are asked to face bench was hearing a plea filed by a 30-year-old man and his parents, who were in their 50s. The plea sought quashing of a FIR registered with Bhusawal Bazar Peth Police Station in Jalgaon and the case is pending before the Judicial Magistrate FirstClass, Bhusawal for the offences punishable under Section 4 (criminalizes triple talaq) of Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, and under Section 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The man and the woman got married as per Muslim rites and customs on October 31, 2021 at Bhusawal, Jalgaon. They resided with his parents for about two weeks thereafter and then they went to Belapur, Navi Mumbai, where the man was serving. They lived there till April 2022 but as the woman was pregnant, she came to her own parents woman however faced a difficult pregnancy and it was alleged that without consulting her husband and his family, terminated her pregnancy. Later she allegedly also misbehaved with his family. The woman's father was asked to intervene and even though he assured them, the woman again threatened that she would commit suicide if she is not permitted to go to her father's differences between the couple only escalated and therefore, the man was constrained to pronounce a single divorce i.e. Talaq-e-Ahsan on December 23, 2023 in presence of witnesses. Few days later, he had sent a notice of Talaq by registered post as well. Thereafter, there was no cohabitation or joining of the husband and wife for 90 days and, therefore, as per Muslim customs and Shariyat Law, it became irrevocable and ultimately, a Talaq was confirmed between them, submitted the man's advocate SS Additional Public Prosecutor AD Wange and advocate SM Naseer A appearing for the woman opposed the plea while submitting that statements of witnesses would show that the irrevocable Talaq has been given which is barred and held to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. "The Trial Court would be the best forum where it can be considered as to which kind of Talaq has been pronounced," it was bench saw that Section 498A of IPC for cruelty to woman was not invoked. While Section 4 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act can be invoked only against husband and not against the parents-in-law. And thus there was no question of invoking Section 34 of IPC either. "There cannot be a common intention of pronouncement of Talaq. Therefore, even at this stage also, we can say that it would be an abuse of process of law if the matter is asked to be proceeded for the offence punishable under Section 4 of the Act against the father-in-law and mother-in-law," observed the the bench saw that 'Talaq' means 'Talaq-e biddat' or any other similar form of Talaq having the effect of instantaneous or irrevocable divorce pronounced by the Muslim husband which is illegal. While in the case at hand, the woman herself had stated in the FIR that the husband had stated in a notice sent on December 28, 2023 that what was given to her was Talaq-e-Ahsan i.e. one pronouncement of Talaq as per the bench noted that the final Talaqnama has been given on March 24, 2024 wherein it was mentioned that after December 23, 2023, within 90 days, neither the woman had resumed cohabitation and there was no resumption of physical relations between them so the legal effect of Talaq-e-Ahsan has come into Reel
