Students can get admission through the ongoing Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling. Regarding the UG course, vice-chancellor Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal said on Sunday that a limited number of institutes currently offer specialised courses in aerospace engineering. "The new programme is expected to benefit a wide pool of aspiring students aiming for careers in aerospace and space science," he added. He said the announcement of the aerospace engineering course follows the recent visit by V Narayanan, Isro chairman, who addressed students and faculty during a talk at the university recently. "Emphasising India's ambitious future in space exploration, Narayanan stated that India will be second to none in the space sector by 2040. Through the BTech course, we will prepare future aerospace engineers and scientists of the country," said Biswal. On the MTech course, the VC said it will address the growing demand for semiconductor professionals in the industry. "Semiconductors are crucial components, serving as the foundation for electronic devices ranging from smartphones and laptops to automotive systems and industrial equipment. The global semiconductor industry is experiencing rapid growth due to increasing digitalisation and technological advancement," he added.
